Chapter 82:
Pythia POV:
This must be where Athea lives, it is very beautiful but things looked to be a mess. Wolves had gathered in the grove and as soon as they saw us they ran straight to us. "Athea what has happened?" Alley asked as she ran her fingers through a medium sized wolf. "Please come, it is my sister.." Athea said walking off. Her sister? I remember that being brought up but none of us knew who she was. I started feeling a strange pull forward and I looked around and noticed Athea was looking down at me. "Before we get any closer there is something that was never told to you or your ancestors. Dark witches were created by my sister but I agreed to watch over all of you for her. When vampires were created, dark witches aided me." Athea said slowly looking around until her eyes fell on me. "She had a child that we sent to y'alls realm. You are a direct descendant of hers. Your line of magic is a direct line to her." Athea said, looking directly at me. What is she saying? I come from a goddess line? My mind was spinning with different kinds of thoughts and I couldn't settle on just one. "You and Apollo are her last bloodline, do you understand?" Athea asked, pulling me from my thoughts. "So I'm her granddaughter in a way?" I asked quietly.
Athea looked down and smiled, "Yes, just a long way down the line. She reached out to you in your dream but couldn't do it in time to have you send for help. She made it out just in time and came here. She is waiting for you." Athea said softly. I think I am in shock. So this goddess is a long long grandmother of mine? Holy shit. "What is her name?" I asked. "Lucinda. Now go." Athea replied. I grabbed Tyes hand because I didn't trust my own two feet at this point. Tye gently pulled me forward and I finally looked past Athea to see a woman laying on a padded area, her skin was what as snow and her long black hair was tucked around her. She was really wounded and her eyes were closed, I took in all her features and was shocked to realize we did look a lot alike. I felt a deep connection to her, I sat down beside her unsure of what to do now. She had bite marks all over her body but they seemed to be healing at a very slow rate. I gently touched her arm, her skin felt like ice but it was soft. I heard her groan and I snatched my hand away. When I looked at her face I saw her piercing blue eyes staring right back at me.
I felt like a kid that got caught taking candy before dinner. I lowered my head to avoid her gaze when I felt her fingers tuck under my chin to raise my head. "Pythia, my child you are here." Lucinda said weakly. I recognized her voice immediately. It was the same voice that had come to me yesterday encouraging me. Has she been watching over me all this time? "Uh- hi." I said shyly. "Sit my son, we need to talk." Lucinda said looking up to Tye. He quickly sat down and we both just stared at her, waiting for her to say something. "Sister, do you wish to have a blanket?" Athea asked. "Yes please. Have them all come sit." Lucinda replied. Oh shit this doesn't sound good. Lee, Ryan and Jax looked beyond shocked at what was happening. Even the wolves sat around us. I reached out and held her hand, my heart hurt looking at her and it took a lot for me to hold in my own tears. "Oh don't worry about me, I will heal in time but something terrible has happened that we didn't think was possible." Lucinda said, the look in her eyes was mixed with fear and anger.
Athea came back with a thick blanket and I helped cover Lucinda with it. Athea sat above her head and placed her hands on her head. "What? What are you doing?" I asked. "I am healing her." Athea whispered just as her hands lit up and more of the wounds started to close. "What has happened?" Tye asked. "Not all of you know but Atheas world isn't the only one that exists. I have a separate world where I keep the nastiest of nasty wolves, the ones who are pure evil and are a major threat to this world and yours." Lucinda replied. Oh no. Those things I saw in the dream, they were wolves. "Before any questions please let me say what I need to say." Lucinda said, holding her hand up keeping us from talking. "Once those wolves were brought to me they never got back out, I made sure of that. I had them contained and controlled, until now. Pythia, I have watched over you your entire life and you finally heard my voice when you were saving the others." Lucinda said. I felt all eyes on me, I didn't really have time to tell them when I figured it out.
"The elders figured out that my realm exists and they figured out what I kept hidden away. They knew you would come for the others but I did not know they had figured out a way to penetrate my realm and free those bastards of wolves." Lucinda said with anger in her voice. "They have done a ritual giving those wolves from overseas another wolf so now they have two wolves, and they are much much more powerful than we ever thought." Athea said. They what?! How are we supposed to fight them now? I felt my heart sink and I started to fear the worst. "Pythia look at me." Lucinda said, pulling my gaze from Athea to hers. "The alpha that was here with me knows about you and about your mixed races. He is coming for you my child." Lucinda said with tears in her eyes. Tye growled so loud that it startled me. "Be calm my alpha." Athea said as she rested her hand on his shoulder. "Why is he coming for me?" I asked weakly. A crazed alpha that has locked away for goddess knows how long is now free and is coming for me. I think I am going to pass out.
"He wants to create a new line of beings, he is not only an alpha. He was once an alpha and a vampire. He wants to create the ultimate weapons by binding all the races into one." Athea said softly. What the fuck?! "How come we haven't heard about him?" Alley asked. "Because we took him out a very long time ago and kept the information to make it seem impossible to do because we didn't want to take the chance of the races being mixed unless we knew we could trust it." Athea replied. Oh hell no, oh no no no this can't be happening. "How are we supposed to fight against people with two wolves and a deranged alpha vampire hybrid, on top of fighting the elders?" I asked, I could feel myself start to panic, my mind was racing and I couldn't focus. Warmth shot through me and I calmed down immediately. "For this one time we are breaking the rules, just a little because we can't mingle too much with each of the choices you all make. We can not kill anyone but we can supply you with things you will need." Lucinda replied.
"We can't give you an extra wolf but what we can do is give wolves to those who do not have one, they will not stay with them though, after the fight is done with the wolves will come back to us, it will not hurt them at all. We can also provide a constant shield around everyone so that Stephen is not over-exhausting himself." Athea added. How many wolves are here? That seems like a lot. "The vampires will be given a wolf as well and given an element until after the fight. Trust us when we say each of you will need some sort of magic and element for this." Athea said, looking at Ambrosia. "The element carriers will teach them how to control and use them properly so they are prepared because in three weeks time the fight will happen but I would like to make a request." Lucinda said, looking at us. "Of course, what is it?" I asked. "We want to keep the children and those who can't fight here with us, you can trust that we will keep them safe and occupied." Lucinda said with a soft smile.
"We can do that. I would rather know our children are safe far away, but if your realm was penetrated what about this one?" Alley asked. "Lucinda and I have a magical bond, if anyone comes looking they will see nothing, it will be as if this realm was abandoned and moved. No trace of our scent will be found." Athea replied. I felt comfort knowing the children would be safe here but I feared for the rest of us. How many of us will lose our lives in this fight? "Now, let's give Pythia and Lucinda some privacy, Tye you may stay but the rest of us must go and tell the others quickly." Athea said standing up. "We will watch Apollo, take your time." Ambrosia said, smiling at me. I nodded, I watched as they all walked away before disappearing. "First, I want to say I am proud of who you have become, and I can not begin to tell you just how sorry I am for all of this." Lucinda said, gaining my attention. "Why would you feel the need to apologize?" I asked.
"Because, I was supposed to keep them locked away and I failed, and now that hybrid is coming after you." Lucinda said sadly. "It's not your fault, mistakes happen." I replied. "It is my fault, I should have kept a better eye on those damned elders and believe me when I say if I could personally take them out I would." Lucinda said with venom in her voice. "You are much more powerful than you think you are in Pythia, yes you still have to be careful using white magic but it is your fear that is keeping you from unlocking your power. Do not fear it, embrace it." Lucinda added. "How?" I asked but couldn't form the right words. "You and I have a connection because we are blood, I can feel your fears and your worries. Should you ever need me all you have to do is call on me and I will be there." Lucinda replied, she looked at Tye gently, "You have been so good to her and I am forever thankful. It is nice to finally be able to meet you." Lucinda said, smiling up at him.
Tye smiled back, "I will always be good to her, I won't let that hybrid get to her. Although this is a major shock, I am glad to know you and be able to meet you." Tye replied, making her laugh. "I do apologize for that but we needed to tell you all. All of you are the key to keeping the balance and to be able to live in a world of peace." Lucinda said. "Will I ever be able to come back and see you? I have so many questions.." I whispered. "Of course, these wolves you are about to fight are nearly demonic. You must burn their souls and rid them of your realm and ours. I won't ever have to be separate from anyone ever again." Lucinda replied. I nodded my head feeling a little better that I would be able to come back and get some answers. "Now it is time for you both to go, the next time you see me I will look much better than this. Go prepare yourselves, Athea will bless you with a wolf soon." Lucinda said, smiling at me. Oh crap, that makes me nervous. I've never thought about having a wolf. What is shifting like? They will know my thoughts and everything right? Does it hurt?
I heard Lucinda laughing and I looked down at her, "Don't be so nervous my child, all will be well I promise." Lucinda said just as everything went black, when I opened my eyes we were standing in the field and all eyes landed on us and I knew right then everyone was already told.
