Chapter 91:
Pythia POV:
Today was the day that we started the competition. Everyone seemed excited to start everything and I watched as they were preparing themselves. Today is the task of the elements for the witches, tomorrow will be the task of the wolves. We decided that when we paired them up one would be a witch while the other was a wolf so they could double up on the strength. We formed a large circle so we could all spread out so we could watch. "Now, we will put two people against each other, much like training. The first one to be pushed outside of this circle using elements only loses." I announced. "No physical contact?" Jasper asked. "No. No physical contact, these are elements only." I replied. "The first two that we have up are, Richie and Crystal." Tye announced. Quickly they jumped up and moved inside of the circle and readied themselves. "No rules, no specific order in what element you want to use either." I said looking between the two of them.
We watched as the two of them went back and forth with each other until things took a turn intensely. At first it seemed like they didn't want to hurt each other if they pushed too hard but when they weren't making any progress they started using them more forcefully. "Remember you have wolves! You will heal quickly, don't be afraid." Alley called out. We had so many people to go through so we needed to get through this quickly. Finally it was a war of elements being thrown back and forth like their life depended on it and that was what I was wanting to see. I wanted to see them push each other to the max so I could see what all they could do. Richie and Crystal gave it their all and finally Crystal managed to throw Richie from the circle rendering her the winner of this round. Everyone started clapping and I motioned for Crystal to go and stand to the side of the circle. Tye called out the next two and they didn't waste any time getting down to business.
As I watched everyone I realized just exactly how far they have come in a short amount of time, it made me incredibly proud of all of them. When we finally got down to the final ones we decided to take a break. "I think they have all done exceptionally well today." Alley said, walking up to us. "They honestly have. I knew it would be too hard to pick. Having this competition was the best option." I replied. "Tomorrow we will test the wolves and see who will be with them and then we will pair them up." Tye said. "I have to go to the coven house tomorrow to check on the progress of the building and then I will be back hopefully in time to see them being paired up." I replied. "I remember. Just make sure you take someone with you." Tye said, looking at me. "We are going to go with her." Jasper said. "We want to check on the house too, since we will eventually take it over." Jenson added.
They boys seemed really excited since I had asked them to move in over there when it was done. I know they didn't want to be separated so I thought it would be a good idea for those two to keep an eye on those who wanted to live over in that area. "I'm sure you both are excited about that. Soon there will be little feet running around." Ambrosia giggled. "I know, I am so excited! We need to find your mate Jenson." Jasper said, looking at his brother. "I'll find mine when it is time." Jenson replied quietly. Something was off about him and I didn't like that he was keeping whatever it was a secret. "I've got to run to the house real quick and grab something. Jenson, would you like to come with me?" I asked. "Yeah, sure." Jenson replied. "What are you up to?" Tye asked through the link. "I just need to talk to him alone." I replied back. I kissed Tye on the cheek before I walked over to Jenson and wrapped my arm around his and pulled him towards the house. I kept my ears up to make sure no one else would be listening and when they all went back to the competition I knew it was clear to talk to him.
"I know you have been hesitant on finding your mate like the others. Why is that?" I asked carefully. I felt him tense slightly before he recovered. "I just don't think I should rush it." Jenson replied softly. "I think there is more to it that you are afraid to say." I stated. "What if they don't want me? They could always reject me." Jenson replied. I took note of how he said them instead of a specific gender. "If they reject you I will kill them. What else are you afraid of?" I asked. "What if you guys don't like them?" Jenson replied. "We will like whoever because they would be your mate. There is nothing to fear about that I promise." I replied. I could see his inner fight and his aura was going wild. As soon as we got in the house I turned and faced him. "Jenson, there is something you are not saying. What are you trying to hide?" I asked. "It's not easy to say. I- I have already met my mate but I don't know if they know or not. We haven't hardly spent any time around each other and we barely see each other." Jenson replied, shocking me.
The twins don't go around too many people so it must be someone we know fairly well. "Who is it? Surely they would know you are their mate." I replied. "I don't think so, it feels like what Jasper described so we wouldn't really know unless you used your magic or we took that chance." Jenson replied. "Who is it?" I asked a little more sternly. I could see the tears start to brim his eyes and my heart started to break. Was the person mean to him? Did they not like him? I would kill them for hurting my brother. "It's- it's Alex.." Jenson whispered as the tears ran down his cheeks. Alex? Stephens beta Alex? "Okay, what's so wrong about that? Is he mean to you? I swear I will murder him if he is." I replied. Jenson jerked his head up facing me. "You don't think badly about me being mated with another man?" Jenson asked. "Of course not! Why would you think that? It's okay to be gay, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You are meant to be who you are, Jenson." I replied, hugging him. "But what if Alex isn't? What if he doesn't want me?" Jenson asked. I could feel the wetness from his tears on my shoulders as I held him close.
"If Alex doesn't want you then that is his loss and I swear I will beat his ass for it. Hey, look at me." I said cupping his cheeks and lifting his head. "You are perfect in every aspect, you are a warrior, an amazing uncle and brother. You don't let anyone make you feel like you are not good enough, you hear me? You are more than enough and you deserve all the happiness in the world." I said, wiping his tears away. "I don't know how to tell him. I don't even know what to do." Jenson whispered. "Can I call Tye and Alley to us?" I asked. Jenson closed his eyes and nodded his head. "Tye, Alley I need you both to my house quickly. Just the two of you." I said quickly through the link. "Is everything alright?" Alley asked. "Yes, just please don't tell anyone and just the two of you." I replied. "Does Jasper know?" I asked. "He knows that I am gay, he just doesn't know about Alex." Jenson replied. The front door opened to both siblings walking in. They looked between me and Jenson with confused looks.
I took a deep breath, "Okay so we need some advice on how to go about this, you remember what Jasper said it felt like with Beth? Since he is half white witch the mate stuff doesn't take effect until they fully mate right?" I said. "Yes, you also did the locator spell." Tye replied. "Well, Jenson believes he has found his mate but is afraid to approach this situation." I said. "Oh this is great news! Who is it?" Alley asked. "It's Alex.." Jenson whispered, lowering his head. "What's the problem with that? This is good news." Tye said, walking up to Jenson. "He is afraid that Alex won't want him and reject him." I replied. "I wish that asshole would try. I'd burn a hole in his ass." Alley stated. It was hard not to laugh because I had the same reaction. "Why don't we do a quick locator spell and if it is him then we can come up with something yeah?" Tye offered. I swear I didn't know that it was possible to love a man anymore than I did but here I am falling more and more for him. I quickly grabbed a map already knowing this routine all too well, Alley grabbed a knife and Jenson held his hand out.
I made a small gash on his palm and turned it over so it could fall freely on the map before I lit it on fire. "Where is Alex now?" I asked as the only remaining piece of the map started to diminish. I picked it up and looked closely at it. "He is in the back field training with some of the warriors." Alley replied. "Well it seems that Alex is indeed your mate." I said looking up at Jenson. I saw a lot of different emotions run across his face, fear was the most dominant one. "Why are you so scared? Has anyone made you feel uncomfortable?" I asked. "Well no, there just isn't too many gays and I don't want anyone to see me any different." Jenson replied. "No one would see you any different than who you truly are." Alley replied with a small smile. "What if Alex isn't gay? Then what am I going to do?" Jenson asked as he sat down in the chair. "Well I always thought he was gay to be honest, he doesn't glance at women at all. He has never been with one either." Tye replied. "What do you want us to do? We can call Alex here and give you two some time to talk if you would like." I said.
Jenson looked torn on what he wanted to do. "We will be right outside in case things get out of control." Alley reassured him. "Okay, I'll talk to him." Jenson replied, taking a deep breath. I watched Tyes eyes glaze over before they finally focused back on us. "He is on his way." Tye said. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine I promise. No matter what we will be here." I said hugging him. I heard a knock on the door and I went to open it. Alex stood there with a goofy smile on his face. "I was told I was needed to come see Jenson?" Alex said. "Yes, and let me tell you now if you hurt him or upset him in any way I will rip your spine out and beat you with it you understand me?" I growled out. Alexs eyes went wide as he looked behind me. "I would never." Alex whispered. I looked over my shoulder to the others, "We will be right outside." I said walking by Alex. Alley closed the door behind her and I hoped this would work out for Jenson, goddess knows he certainly deserves it.
