Chapter 24:
Pythia POV:
I huffed and walked beside her. "Tell me what else you are thinking. Something has you rattled besides their reactions to it all." Ambrosia said. "I honestly don't know what to think. My dad and aunt are alive, my life was a lie and because peace started before me I am expected to lead with heavy shoulders. I have no guidance other than a book and I don't know what to do. It scares me to no end honestly." I replied but my voice cracked at the end. "We can not tell the future, we can only live in the now and right now what is important to you?" Ambrosia said softly. "My life with Tye. Our baby. I want a good world for us all and I know getting that won't be an overnight deal but it just seems like there is no light at the end of this tunnel for me. If the grand council doesn't take me out then I could take myself out by accident." I whispered as a tear slid down my cheek. "Ah now I see what you mean, but you must know that we would not let you go that far. I would not allow that and neither would Tye." She replied as she wrapped her arm around my waste. "You know, you have been like a sister to me lately. I am not use to this at all." I said, laying my head on her shoulder. "I feel the need to be close to you. I can promise that I will be the first to get to you out of the others. I think it is because we are so different than the wolves, we were in our own worlds doing our own thing with no one we truly trusted." She replied.
That made a lot of sense. Even though I had Stony and Lillith I literally had no one else, I didn't allow anyone to get that close to me because I never knew if they could be trusted or not. With her it comes with ease, I know she would be there in a flash, I mean hell she already proved that to me. She didn't have to attend my meeting with the elders the way she did. She has always made sure I was checked on, she followed me out of the door knowing I needed to vent and get everything out. "Why don't you read the rest of the book with Tye and tell us a briefing of it?" She asked. "That sounds better than reading it in front of everyone. Will you be there too though?" I asked. "Of course I can. Jackson as well, he knows better than to upset any of the ladies." Ambrosia replied. That was true, his face remained neutral the entire time. "Are you hungry?" Ambrosia asked, looking at me. "Yeah truthfully I am starving." I signed. "Let's go back and eat and after if you want to take another walk we can." She hugged me. As we walked back my mind drifted off to what I would like my life to be. In peace with no worries of danger that seems to keep lurking around us....
Tye POV:
When Pythia jumped up and stormed out I had no idea what was happening. "Pythia!" I shouted but she didn't turn around. Her emotions were all over the place before I felt anger radiate off of her. I went to walk out the door when Ambrosia cut me off. "Stay here, she needs a little girl time to vent." Ambrosia said. "Bring her back please." I whispered. I didn't get a response. What made her so upset? I wish I could read her mind and figure out what it was. "I am opening the line to you Tye for you to hear." Jackson said through the link. I didn't reply, all my focus was now on listening to what had just happened. When Ambrosia caught up to her, she was visibly upset and it took everything I had in me to keep my feet planted. I knew the others could hear them just fine with how close they were but the moment she described what she saw on everyones faces and how that made her feel anger tore through me. I looked around the room to see nothing but guilt on all their faces. In that moment they knew they upset her to the point it made her question if she was even strong enough to handle what may come.
They walked off further out of hearing range for them to hear but I still could. I listened as Pythia laid all her worries and thoughts out and I needed to get a plan together. I looked around the room and narrowed my eyes. "You all better think of something to say to her as an apology." I stated before storming out of the room. I didn't care if I had upset any of them, Jackson followed close behind me. "What are you doing?" He asked. "I am taking Pythia away from here until Saturday." I replied evenly. "Where are you going to go?" He asked. "She has always wanted to see the beach. I am going to book a beach house for the next few days. I want a day alone with her and then I want you and Ambrosia to come." I said looking at him. "Deal, I think she needs to get away for a few days and relax. Just tell us when you want us there and if we need to bring anything." Jackson replied. "I will, thanks man." I said, slumping my shoulders. Jackson walked over and patted my shoulder. "No need to thank me, things will get better. They are heading back for lunch now." Jackson said as he walked towards the door. "Mom? Are you busy?" I asked through the link. "Not for you my son, what is it?" She asked. "I need some help with planning something. Can I see you after lunch?" I asked. "Of course, I will be at our house." She replied. "Thank you mom, see you soon." I said before cutting the link.
If anyone can help me make this incredibly special it was her and I fully intended to go all out to make my green eyed beauty feel like the most special woman in the world.
