Chapter 31:

Pythia POV:

I opened the door to see the guys setting a blanket down on the sand. I held tight to the leather book that was in my hand. Part of me didn't want to keep reading but I know I need to know. It scares me to learn anything more honestly. As we sat down I took a deep breath and opened it from where we left off. I decided to take it slow this time around, I don't need to overwhelm myself. "This looks like it lists duties or how to do things." I said. "Okay, we are listening. Whenever you are ready." Ambrosia said with an encouraging smile.
"The duties of the blessed should be as followed:
-Take down all those who oppose peace if they can not be swayed into it. They will pose a never ending threat and therefore can not be trusted.
-Re-build the grand council with those who will enforce everything without almost all violence.
-We must hand out punishment fairly and correctly.
-Intertwine our races if we want our kind to survive."
Well that doesn't seem all that bad. "That seems easy enough." Tye said. "Sounds like your father is already working to rebuild the grand council." Jackson said. That is true, him and my aunt are among them. I scanned through the other pages and there really isn't much else in it. "What else is in there?" Ambrosia asked. "Not much. Maybe because there hasn't been someone like me finish the book?" I asked. "That is a possibility. They didn't have anything to go off of back then." Tye said rubbing my shoulders. "The main thing is learning all of this." I stated. "We will learn it together." Ambrosia said smiling at me. "I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't scare me, but I feel strong enough and confident that I can do this." I stated. I was a little afraid to look up because I didn't want to see the looks on their faces. "Just because you are afraid doesn't make you weak. It means you will know better than to go to far. You know your limits." Tye whispered in my ear.
"And if you honestly think you are weak then when you pop that baby out I'm slapping you for thinking that." Ambrosia said, narrowing her eyes at me. "I don't think you want to test that. I haven't been around you much but you carry yourself with confidence but you also back that up." Jackson said. I looked around to see that these two in front of me would be the closest to me out of everyone else. "Did you know that dark witches aided the moon goddess in creating vampires?" Ambrosia said. What? What did I do? "That is why I feel such a pull to you. To be by you, stand with you and protect you. Your race helped create mine." Ambrosia said with a huge smile on her face. So that is why. I didn't know that at all but you know what. I thank the moon goddess we did help because I have gained such an amazing friend, no an amazing sister. "I don't think I could thank the moon goddess enough." I said, returning her smile. "So did you agree to have a guard?" She asked. "I did. I won't fight him on this until after the baby is born." I replied.
Ambrosia looked deep in thought for a few moments. "Fine, I will have a guard until the baby is born as well." She stated. Jackson blew out the breath he was holding. Was she waiting to see what I would say? "I will have Brandon. He's a true warrior from what I have heard." I stated. "That he is. He is young but has a protective yet caring heart. He will be a good fit for you." Ambrosia replied. "So who are you getting for her?" I asked Jackson. "Well I see Tye didn't tell you anything else so I guess I will, we were hoping that you ladies would like to all move in together until the babies are born. Brandon can protect you both." Jackson stated. "But how will he be in two places at once?" I asked. "Well if for whatever reason you two have things on the same day and time we will get Alex to go as well." Tye replied. "Actually I like the idea of that." Ambrosia chimed in. She had a look on her face that I knew all too well. A look of relief. It must have something to do with her brother but I won't push it today. "Good because we already have a house set up and ready to go." Jackson said smiling.
So they have had this planned? "It is located in the woods, dead center of our packs, and both of y'alls lands." Tye said. "We can stay there as long as we want, or at least until our new homes are being built." Jackson said. I felt happiness wash over me. I will be living with Ambrosia, Jackson and Tye. I will have a better chance at getting to know my now brother. I looked out to the water which looked unusually rough right now. I do hope that it calms down later on, I would like to go swimming again before we leave. As we sat around talking about different things I felt content, it all ended too soon when Jackson and Tye were on their feet firmly in front of us. They let out a growl that vibrated the ground. What are they looking at? I narrowed my eyes to see if I could see anything, I zeroed in on a figure standing just outside the woods lining. Who is that? "Pythia stand with me." Ambrosia whispered. The figure kept getting closer but I didn't feel threatened by it. It felt familiar to me. "Seraphim." I whispered, I felt the shield wrap firmly around us. "What was that?" Ambrosia asked. "It is a shield, if that is some sort of dark witch or someone using dark magic with the intent to harm it will deflect it back at them." I whispered back. "Smart choice." She replied.
As the figure got closer I could tell that it was a man, he held his hands up showing his submission. "My daughter.." Rang out and touched my ears. Is that my dad??
