Chapter 83:
Pythia POV:
I stepped a little closer to Tye, not out of fear or discomfort but I knew the shit storm we were about to walk through and I could feel all the emotions rolling off everyone. "Pythia!" My head snapped over to see my dad, uncle and aunt running towards us. "Is it true?" My dad asked. Fear smeared on his face. "I'm not sure what everyone was told." I replied. "A fucking crazy alpha vampire hybrid rogue coming after you?" Phil snapped. "Watch it Phil." Tye warned. "Let's all talk, where is Alley and the others?" I asked, looking around. "They are at the pack house with the goddess." Olivia replied. "Have everyone gather in the front and I will be there momentarily." I said walking off. I was annoyed with Phils tone, yes it is a shock and very unexpected however snapping at me is no way to get answers. As we walked in the door I noticed everyone standing in the kitchen when they all turned to look at me. "I've been waiting for you, how is Lucinda?" Athea asked softly. "She is well, I plan to go back and speak with her more after everything." I replied.
"There is so much to do in such little time, I have called for my wolves and they will be here shortly." Athea said with a smile. "How is this going to work? Do we pick the wolves or do you tell them who to go to?" I asked. "The wolves choose who they want, although you will be different." Athea said. "What do you mean I'll be different?" I asked. "There is a wolf that is among the strongest, Rose will know exactly who she is, since it is her sister." Athea said. My eyes widened, Rose has a sister? I turned to look at Alley to see her eyes were shifting in color before they settled on different colors. "Delilah? She is here?" Alley asked but I knew it was Rose, Alleys voice doesn't have that edge to it. "Yes, she will be given to Pythia." Athea replied. "Wait why haven't we heard about Delilah?" Stephen asked. "Because Delilah belonged to Lucinda. When I gave Rose and Denver to Alley and Stephen I asked if I could have Delilah so she could train the others." Athea replied.
"Where is she?" Rose asked. "She will be here soon and you may see her but I need Alley back." Athea said sternly. "What do you mean Delilah belonged to Lucinda?" Tye asked, which was a good question. Was Lucinda part wolf? "Lucinda wanted someone with her so she wouldn't be alone, someone she could trust with anything and everything so I entrusted Delilah to do that and she did." Athea replied. Well that makes sense, they are like how Danny and Ember are. "It is time, I can feel everyone gathered out front and my wolves are getting closer." Athea said, walking towards the door. I took a deep breath and followed her outside. She was right, everyone was here at full attention. Athea stepped forward with a wide smile just as she did at the ceremony. "First I want everyone to remain calm, do not take your frustrations out on Pythia, she is only just now learning everything just as you all are. This is my fault none of this was made aware, I thought it would be safer that way but I see now it is not and for that I apologize. I've said what you all are up against but what I didn't tell you is how I am able to help without really helping." Athea stated, her voice was loud and clear but gentle and soft at the same time.
"What I am going to do is gift those of you who are without a wolf with a wolf. Vampires will also have a wolf and be gifted with an element. Witches already have magic and can use it. My element carriers will teach you all how to wield them properly. These rogue wolves are much worse than you can imagine and they will be much stronger because now they will have two wolves. With what I am supplying you, you will succeed but it will still be difficult." Athea added. My nerves started going crazy and I wasn't sure how everyone would react to this. "What about our wee ones? Those who can not fight?" Natalie asked. "They will be with my sister and I in our realm, safe from the fight at hand and protected by us." Athea replied with a smile. "Is it going to hurt?" Olivia asked. "Not at all, I will make sure of that. They won't stay with you forever. After the fight is over and everyone is healed I will come back to collect them and even then you have my word that it will not hurt. My wolves will care for you that I can promise." Athea replied. The sound of howls caught all of our attention and as I looked up all I could see were massive wolves.
Everyone gasped at the sight of them and rightfully so, but one in particular caught my attention, it was bigger than the others and was pitch black. Its fur looked like silk but the eyes were ice blue just like Lucindas. "Now I want everyone to get in a line and the wolf will chose who it wants." Athea called out. As everyone lined up I stood at the edge of the porch staring at the big black wolf that was looking right at me. "That is Delilah." Athea whispered in my ear. She is beautiful, but she was massive and I was betting she was the same size as Rex if not bigger. She started to make her way towards me and as nervous as I was I felt more comfortable looking at her, maybe because she matches me so well? Or maybe because I am Lucindas descendant and they spent so much time together. Does that mean she watched over me too? I couldn't stay still any longer and before I knew it my feet started to move forward until I was standing directly in front of her. "Delilah.. My you are a beautiful girl aren't you." I whispered, reaching up to her, she lowered her head and pushed it into my hand and huffed making me giggle.
"I think we are going to get along just fine, but be gentle okay? This is new to me and honestly I'm not fully sure how this all works but I am excited to hear your voice." I whispered. "I must warn you Pythia, Delilah is very protective, she is connected to Lucinda which means she is connected to you. Naturally wolves are territorial and protective but she is able to feel others emotions just like you. If she is threatened she will surface and protect what is hers." Athea said, smiling at the large wolf who looked annoyed. Delilah growled a little and shook her head before standing so close to me that I was tucked in her chest which made Athea laugh. "Don't be like that Delilah, I trust you won't let any harm come to our queen." Athea said, I could feel the rumble in her chest and I figured she was talking back. "Alright, alright I will begin. So impatient." Athea laughed as she turned and walked off. "So this is Delilah?" Tye asked, walking up, Delilah growled, surprising Tye, "Hey, don't growl at me, that's my mate." Tye snapped. Oh man, this was going to be really interesting.
I patted her chest before I stepped away and looked at her, "Now I understand you're protective but you can't growl at everyone. This is my mate, you will meet my family too and our son. So you have to be nice okay?" I said sweetly. Delilah walked over to Tye and smelled him before she rubbed her head against him. "She smells you on me." Tye said rubbing her head. "Alright let's begin, everyone stand in front of your wolf." Athea called out. I started feeling excited, I was about to see things the way the others do although with Delilah being so protective I'm wondering how I will be able to control that. "Everyone clear your minds and relax your body, again I promise this won't hurt. You need to feel the warmth, feel the love. You all need to welcome them and fully trust them to protect you, to strengthen you and most importantly to guide you." Atheas soft voice rang out. I closed my mind and thought about Delilah and how it would be to talk to her, to find comfort knowing she will be there for me. Her image started flooding my mind, her training skills. They way she looks after those she has trained but then memories of me through her eyes flooded my mind.
She watched me be born and grow, she watched as I learned about magic and fought in the last battle. I could feel her irritation every time I was hurt, I could feel her hatred for the elders. Her memories started to cloud those and I got my first glimpse of what those things are. Twice her size and wider, bright red eyes and sharp fangs. Fear shot through me just before the memories faded and the emotion I felt next was pure love. The love she has for Lucinda and for me, even though she had never met me she wanted to be with me but didn't want to leave Lucinda with those monsters. When I opened my eyes Delilah wasn't in front of me anymore. I looked around and couldn't find her. "Pythia.. my beauty?" Tye said gaining my attention. I turned around to look at him and his eyes went wide. "What? Where is Delilah?" I asked looking around. "I'm with you now." A soft voice sounded off in my head making me jump. "What the hell?" I felt my heart start racing and I started feeling really nervous when I remembered Tye saying bits and pieces of what it's like to talk to Rex.
"Delilah?" I asked. "I am here, don't fret." Delilah giggled. Now this was going to take some time to get use too. I looked at Tye who somehow got closer without me even realizing. "What?" I asked. "It's.. your eyes." Tye whispered looking closer at me. "What about them? They are green." I replied. "No, no look." Tye said taking his phone out and flipping it towards me, I looked to see only one of my eyes was green, the other eye was a piercing blue. "How.." I whispered looking closer. I looked around to see Jasper and Jenson along with the others were staring at me. "How do you feel?" Athea asked smiling at me. "Uh I feel fine I guess but my eyes.. How? Why did one change?" I asked. "Seems like Delilah is more attached to you than I thought. That is her way of letting people know you are with wolf and a strong one." Athea said looking closer at me. "Delilah has an insight on people, just as Danny can see future things, Rose can tap into Alleys magic. Delilah knows a persons true instincts. There is no lying to her. She has the truth eyes, it's her way of sharing her gift with you." Athea added with a big smile.
So will I be able to tell what I already feel about people? "Yes, you will. It will be more clear than ever before." Delilah said. I flinched a little then laughed, "You will get used to it all, for now get to know Delilah and let her get to know everyone. Keep Tye with you to help you when you need but I must get back to Lucinda. I wish you all well and we will be watching. When the night falls before the fight I will come back to get the children and those who won't fight." Athea said before she disappeared. "Alright, let's get started shall we?" I said with a smile before grabbing Tyes hand and walking towards the large crowd that looked overly happy.
