Chapter 44:
Pythia POV:
We were not expecting to stay another night so Phil decided that we would go find a mall or something so we could get another respectful outfit and grab dinner while we were out. My mind has been racing since we got back in last night, if Alley didn't spread spirit to me then who did? Did I somehow bend the element like the book said I could? If so, how in the hell did I do it? Standing back in this room with the elders in front of us again didn't seem so intimidating with the rest standing firmly behind me. It seems like we have been standing here for hours while the elders reviewed what was handed to them. My dad and aunt didn't give anything away unlike the others who were visibly upset by what they were reading. "Where did you get all of this?" A male elder asked. "Everything we have is from the goddess herself." Alley replied easily. All at once their heads snapped up, "What do you mean they came from the goddess?" A woman asked. "There is much you do not know of us, we speak to Athea more than you think." Alley replied. "We know enough of each of you to understand who and what you are." A male elder snapped.
Stephen growled but Alley rested her hand on his arm. "Than you should know that Athea would not lie now would she?" Alley asked, tilting her head to the side. "Or should we summon her here to explain it herself?" Emma asked, narrowing her eyes. "You can summon her?" My dad asked, clearly surprised. "Yes, we can. She is always happy to help however she can." Alley replied. "Unless the goddess herself walks through those doors and tells us that Pythia falls under your law as well as our law we are not going to accept the books as proof that she does." The oldest elder stated. Well there goes that idea, not really an idea but if it is in the book from the goddess herself they should not turn a blind eye to that. I wouldn't want to see her mad. "Then so be it." Chloe said as the women turned to walk out. "You are not excused." A woman snapped as she stood up. Alley stopped and turned around with a look that made my blood turn cold, her eyes swirled different colors and I held my breath. "We do not fall under your ridiculous court, law or words. We didn't say we were leaving to go home. We will return momentarily so until then sit your ass down and shut up." Alleys voice was laced with such power that I had to fight the urge not to cringe away from her.
She turned back around and walked out of the door, "Pythia, you see how they are?" A male elder asked. "No, I don't you all should know well enough not to cross a line like she just did, she knew they don't fall under us and yet she chose to get snippy. Do you see how she is?" I replied casually. "So you are taking her side?" The same female asked. "Pythia is correct. We all know they don't fall under us so why did you speak to the great white witch like that? It is your own fault." My dad snapped. A small smile played on my lips, she knew she was wrong and she couldn't keep trying to justify herself over it. The door behind us opened once again and going off the look of everyones face it some someone they didn't think would actually show up. A hand rested on my shoulder and when I turned to look it wasn't Athea I was looking at but Davina. She smiled at me and gently pushed me behind her. "And you are?" My aunt asked. "How very rude of me I apologize, my name is Davina and I am the element carrier for spirit. I travel in this world as well as the Atheas world. She will be here shortly but, I am here to make sure everyone stays perfectly calm." Davina replied.
Her voice was like an angels, calm, collective and gentle. "We weren't expecting you." My dad stated. "I understand that not many people see me at all but if the goddess calls on me then I shall be there. I hear you all have denied what the goddess has given proof of." Davina replied gently. "Most of us, not all." My aunt said calmly. "I see, may I ask what the charges are or should we wait for Athea?" Davina asked. "We will wait for Athea." A male elder replied quickly. "You may call me goddess until you learn how to respect all my people." A voice rang out. I couldn't decide if there was any malice to it or not, it wasn't a happy nor mad tone. I froze on the spot knowing exactly who that voice belonged to. I kept my eyes down a little afraid that I would see disappointment on Atheas face. Davina stepped in front of me and from what I could tell Athea came in her place. She had on a silk white dress that nearly covered her feet. I felt her place both her hands on my shoulders but even so I did not move a muscle. "Pythia, my blessed child, look at me." Athea spoke softly.
Slowly I raised my head and was greeted with a warm smile. She tilted her head to the side before she turned to stand next to me. "You all dare deny the proof that was handed over to you? With the exception of the two on the ends." Athea stated. "How were we supposed to know these came directly from you?" A female elder asked. "You should know Kathrine for I have spoken to you a few times, have I not?" Athea replied. So her name is Kathrine, fitting. "You haven't spoken to me about these books." Kathrine stated. "You should know well enough that if the great white witch herself said it came from me then it is true." Athea replied. Kathrine lowered her head. "Since I was asked to be here for further proof let me shine some light on Pythia. Her father is a white witch. We do not know where he is of course. She is my blessed child and falls under the wolf and white witch council as well. She is pardoned from treason and war unless you all have outstanding evidence that says otherwise." Athea said, looking around to everyone. When no one said a word I relaxed a little bit more. "You said her father is a white witch?" A male asked. "Yes, Joe. Her biological father is a white witch. Good luck finding him. Now if my great white witch presents anything else and says it is from me I have full expectations that not a single one of you will deny her word yes?" Athea asked.
