Chapter 21:
Pythia POV:
The moment my eyes opened I wanted to spring out of the bed and get my hands on that book. I peaked over my shoulder to see Tye in a dead stare at me, "Well good morning lazy bones." He said smiling. "How long have you been awake?" I asked, it looked like he had been up for a while. "Not long. I would have slept a little more if you weren't snoring so loudly." Tye muttered. I swatter his arm, "I do not snore!" I giggled. "Oh yes you do, like a cute little mouse." He replied snuggling in to me. "We need to get up, my wolf." I whispered. "I know you want to read that book but you also need to eat. So get ready and we will eat with everyone." Tye murmured, and as if on cue my stomach started growling. "Alright up you go." Tye said, climbing out of the bed. I sat up slowly and watched as he dressed, "I will be right back." He said before slipping out of the door. I got out of bed and took a quick shower and brushed my teeth. I have been wearing more shorts or leggings since my usual pants haven't been fitting me lately.
I pulled my hair back in a tight bun, I didn't want to get frustrated with it and I wanted to be comfortable. It seemed like every time I looked down my belly grew even more. When I walked out of the bathroom Tye was standing at the end of the bed. I tilted my head to the side to see a tray behind him, "What do you have there behind you?" I asked. "Well everyone else is eating in their room and I thought you would be a little more comfortable in here and you can open the book if you'd like." Tye said, walking over to the shelf to pull out a medium sized book with a white envelope taped to the front of it with my name carefully written on it. I sat on the end of the bed and crossed my legs, as he walked over to me I picked up a piece of fruit and the smell of it hit my nose and I was nearly positive that the rumble in my belly could wake the entire house if they were all still sleeping. Tye sat on the edge of the bed and handed the book over to me, the cool leather touched my hand and I could tell that this book was old.
I ran my fingers across the envelope, if I take a closer look I can tell this was handled a few times. "Are you okay? You seem nervous." Tye said, looking at me. "This envelope looks like it has been passed around a few times." I replied pulling it off of the book. I turned it over and unsealed the back of it before pulling the letter out. I grabbed a few grapes and popped them in my mouth and as I opened the letter I took a deep breath, "I'm going to read it out loud so that you can hear it too." I whispered, Tye didn't say anything or at least that I heard. My own heart was beating so loud it drummed out everything else, the writing looked like it came from an older generation that used the pen dipped in ink. I knew the letter wasn't more than a week old, it took a lot not to skim it over and get the small details quickly because I am impatient like that. I took another deep breath before I started reading the words.
"My Dearest Pythia,
First off I wanted to tell you how incredibly proud I am of you, of the woman that you have become, and I so wish I could have been there for you growing up. Your uncle will be making a visit to you somehow to tell you where I have been and what is going on. It should be me that tells you but as of now I can not. You have been turned in to the grand elders and lucky for you I am among them and soon so will your aunt. We have longed to make peace within the races and we now have a little push from the battle that took place. I heard that you have become quite the warrior that has kept true to her heart. I promise I will come see you as soon as I can, we have much to catch up on and soon all of this will be over and I can finally reunite with you and meet my future grandchild. I heard your mate is an alpha and the great white witches brother. He better treat you the way you deserve, because after everything you have been through you deserve the world. The book I am sending to you will help guide you on the things you need to know and learn. The great white witch should be able to aid you on other things, do not over exhaust yourself. You do have limits. If you have any issues, summon your uncle and he may help you when he can. Keep your head up high my baby girl and I will see you as soon as I can.
Much Love,
Dad."
