Chapter 41:
Pythia POV:
I took one last look in the mirror before I went to meet the others. I decided on a really nice black pants suit with black flats since I was not about to walk around in heels. I curled the bottom of my hair and applied a small amount of makeup. To say I was nervous was an understatement, I took a deep breath and walked out of the large bathroom to meet the others. The men had on really nice sleek suits and Ambrosia had a dark red pants suit, it seemed like we all were thinking alike when we were figuring out what to wear. I had made my decision to help Brandon find his mate when we got back home. The man deserves that much right? I know he has been looking every chance he got but, I can see that he is losing faith. "Are we all ready?" Phil asked. "I believe we are, let's get this done and over with." I replied. As we descended down the elevator I tried to control my breathing, the questions that have been swirling in my head will be answered soon and even though I say I am ready for them I don't really know if I am or not.
As we stepped outside I seen my dad in a navy blue three piece suit. "Adam, you look good cleaned up." Phil said with a smile. "As do you old man, Pythia you look beautiful." My dad said smiling at me. "Thank you, I see we all had the same idea about dressing a certain way." I replied laughing. "We don't have much time so let's load up, the drive is about fifteen minutes." My dad said sliding open to door to the van. Tye helped me climb in and I quickly sat against the window and buckled in, when everyone was settled in my dad drove off. My mind started racing as I looked out of the window, Apollo has been extra active this morning and I can thank the goddess he hasn't kicked one of my ribs again. I felt Tyes warm hand on top of mine and I looked over to see his blue eyes burning in to my green ones. A small smile played on his lips and I knew it was his way a reassuring me. We were slowing down and my eyes drifted back out of the window to see what looked like an old abandoned building. "It isn't as bad as it looks." My dad said as if he was reading my thoughts.
As he put the car in park he turned to look at us, "Now remember what I said. I know we will be having more guests later and that is fine. Remain calm." My dad stated. He looked at me and gave me a slight nod and I know he is reminding me of the men he told me about yesterday. As we climbed out of the car I took a deep breath and followed behind my dad, Tye stood on my right and Brandon stood to my left. Ambrosia and Jackson walked behind us. The closer we got to the doors the more nervous I became. Shit this was it. This was happening. The hallways had candled lining the walls for lighting, it smelled freshly cleaned so that was a plus. The walls were concrete but the few doors it had were what looked like old old wood. My dad paused at the end of a hallway and briefly looked over his shoulder before he opened the door to a wide opened room, a few set of chairs sat behind a large desk facing a stone wall lined with more chairs and I knew that we would be at the desk while the elders were at the top. "I've been telling the others exactly where we are." Tye said through our link. Before I could even reply a door on the side opened and five other grand elders walked out, two males and three females.
One caught my attention most and I knew right then she was my aunt, she had jet black hair, slightly tan skin but her daring green eyes numbed me on the spot. She had high cheekbones and carried herself with such pride that I can only hope I could have some day. They all sat in their chairs but none of us moved. "Elder Adam thank you for bringing them here, you all may sit aside from Pythia." One of the males announced. My dad took his place at the top while the others around me sat down. I cradled my hands under my belly holding my hands so tightly that it started to hurt. My nerves were starting to get the best of me until warmth started to spread throughout my body and I instantly calmed down. I've only felt this when Alley used spirit to aid me. Are they here already? Did Tye ask her to help calm me? "Pythia, we have summoned you because you have been turned in on the following charges: Negligence, treason, war and murder." One elder announced. Okay wait what? "Now, we do know that the war was not you're doing and you were aiding to save our people so we'll go ahead and cross that off the list." A female elder announced.
I could feel myself getting frustrated but all too quickly the warmth crashed around my body. "You are being charged with the other three, the murder incase you are wondering was for your elder we had to replace." A male elder said with venom in his voice. I didn't have to look behind me to know Ambrosia was giving a very killing look and I wasn't the only one that noticed. "Is there a problem with Queen Ambrosia?" the same male elder asked. "Actually there is a problem." Ambrosia replied back in an icy tone. "We are listening." My dad prompted. "Pythia did not kill that elder. I did." Ambrosia replied. Instantly shock registered on all but two faces. "What do you mean you killed her?" A female asked. "Well I thought I said it clearly but I suppose not. I. Killed. That. Elder. Simple really. She threatened the life of not one but two unborn children, and I do not take kindly to threats." Ambrosia replied in her same icy tone. "Elder Phil, is this true?" A male elder asked. "It is true, upon my arrival elder Damien and elder Storm told me what had happened." Phil replied easily. "I see, we will hold off on that charge until we get more details about it." The front elder stated.
