Chapter 99:
Tye POV:
I hated leaving Pythia but I needed to make sure everything else was moving along without any issues because the last thing I wanted was for her to worry about anything when she woke back up. "Tye! Hey man I've increased the border patrol, they are now running in three so that they can cover every inch." Brandon said, running up to me. "That's great, if they see, hear or smell anything suspicious they need to report it immediately. We need to cover everything." I replied. "Got it, is there anything we need to know about these things?" Brandon asked. "For as big as he was he was oddly quiet, had he not broken a stick or something we would have never heard him. If the sun is outlook for what could be hiding in the shadows." I replied. "I'll send word to the others, I need to go and check on Leia. She has been beating the warriors asses a lot harder lately." Brandon said laughing. "I don't expect anything other than that. She is the best one." I replied laughing. Leia has been through a lot and she has focused all of her time on training and family but lately it's been more training than anything.
Not that I minded, it was her outlet after what happened to her and she has done a lot better than any of us thought she would. I couldn't imagine going through something like that. I watched Brandon run off probably more worried about the warriors than he is Leia which made me laugh. We all knew our mates would be strong but damn if Athea didn't pair us with the strongest. I spotted Ambrosia off in the distance talking to Braxton and going off of her facial expressions and body language she was really pissed off. I took a deep breath and walked a little faster, Ambrosia was incredibly special to Pythia and at times it seemed like only Pythia could get her to calm down in situations like this. I started overheating some of her ranting fits and it was about her brother. Now that I think of it, ever since he was kicked out of the hospital when she gave birth to their first son he hasn't been seen. Braxton turned and walked off in a huff. "What was that about?" I asked. "My stupid ass brother, I swear the next time I see him if I ever see him again I'm going to kill him." Ambrosia muttered. "What did he do now?" I asked. "He's running from us. I know that little shit is up to something I just don't know what it is yet." Ambrosia replied.
I could see the struggle in her eyes, Sage was increasing her rage. "Alright take a deep breath. Maybe he just doesn't want to see you? Or he is still mad about what happened." I said easily trying to get her to calm down. An angry Ambrosia is not what we need right now. "Yeah, maybe you're right. He was pretty ticked off when all of that happened." Ambrosia replied, taking in a deep breath. "How is everything coming along here?" I asked quickly, trying to change the subject. "Well I have split everyone into different groups so that they don't use too much energy at once trying to shift different things. They can still work together making sure it's all even and everything." Ambrosia replied. "That's actually a really good idea. If you need anything let me know." I said. "Will do. How is Pythia?" Ambrosia asked. "I checked in with Beth and she said Pythia was sleeping so she is resting. I'll wake her up here in a little bit when I get done checking on everyone else." I replied. "Oh is there anything we need to bring tonight?" Ambrosia asked before I walked off. "Um, you might want to ask Beth, she is in charge of all of that." I replied.
I stood back a little and watched those who were gifted with the earth element rotate and lift the different walls, it looked like a game of tetras and I for whatever reason found it incredibly fascinating to watch. One wall would go up and another would widen while another would grow more thorns, I turned to walk off to check on how the warriors training was going. Truthfully I just wanted to go crawl in bed and nap with my beauty but I had things to do. "We can skip out." Rex echoed through my head. "You know we can't we have all this to take care of and she needs to rest." I replied. "You are depriving me of time with her." Rex whined. "Oh shut up, you get time with her so don't try to pull that." I snapped. "You're such an asshole." Rex growled before he cut the line. I swear he literally tries anything to get more time which I can't blame him but right now we have other important things to take care of and when all of this is over I planned on taking my family somewhere away from all of this for a break and a chance to catch up on what we have lost through all of this.
As I walked over the hill I could see Leia was in the ring with Lex and I paused for a brief moment to watch them. Jax and Ryan saw me standing in the distance and started walking towards me. "Hey coming to check on things?" Jax asked. "Yeah, seeing how Leia is breaking the three of you in." I laughed. "She is a beast. I've never seen a female warrior like her." Ryan replied. "Yeah, her and Alley have always trained harder than everyone in our packs." I said. "Well it has certainly paid off. She isn't even alpha and she has kicked our asses more times that I can remember." Jax grumbled. "Her father was my dads beta so she does come by it a little more naturally." I replied watching Leia toss around Lee as if he was a little doll. "He is going to be mad you know." Ryan said. "He will get over it. In truth all the women here can kick all of our asses and it is better to know that they are on our side and not against us." I said just as Leia delivered a kick straight to Lees stomach, sending him backwards into the ropes. I could see it all over his face how frustrated he was but then I got a better look at Leia, it looked like there was something she was hiding. She was putting a lot of energy into what she was doing.
In a way it was like she was distracting herself from something. "Brandon, quick question." I asked through the link. "Yeah, what's up?" Brandon asked. "Has Leia changed behavior wise lately?" I asked. "Uh, I mean her mood has been off a little why?" Brandon asked. "Nothing, I'll have the girls check on her. She seems different." I said. "Alright I'll talk to her in a little while." Brandon replied. "No, I think this is something for the girls to handle." I said quickly. I don't know what it is about women but they somehow manage to get information out of literally everyone. "Alright fine. I'll see you guys at dinner then." Brandon said quickly. "When we get our stuff situated I'd like to barrow her so she can train our warriors." Jax said. "Well I'm sure she and Brandon would love that. They are good at what they do." I laughed. I watched as Lee jumped out of the ring cursing under his breath while Leia stood with her hands on her hips. "As much as I like training with her I hate her." Lee grumbled out, making me laugh. "You don't hate her you just hate that you can't beat her." I said.
Lee looked at me and I knew what I had said was right. "She is just too damn good." Lee said. "Alright Ryan Let's go I don't have all day!" Leia yelled out. I held my hand up stopping him while I walked up to her. "Leia come here I need to talk to you." I said sternly. She didn't argue like I thought she would because let's face it, she is just as stubborn as the others. "Am I in trouble?" Leia asked. "Not at all, I just wanted to check on you for a second. It's been a while since I have and for that I apologize but it seems like you have been staying busy." I said. "Ah yeah, I have been. Brandon took charge of the border patrols so I have taken over this portion of things." Leia replied. "Just remember to take a little time to yourself, but, is there anything you would like to talk about? Anything on your mind?" I asked to shoot my shot at getting her to open up a little bit. "Just some demons in myself that I have been fighting but truthfully how many of us don't." Leia replied with a huff. "Well you know if you need or want to talk we are all here." I said, patting her shoulder. "Yeah, I know. Thank you. Hey how is Pythia?" Leia asked. "She is fine, she is at home sleeping. Beth is watching over her until I get back." I replied.
Leia nodded her head, "Good. I was worried about her, but I really need to get back to training. I still have Ryan and Jax to beat up before the next round of people get here." Leia said. "Yes, of course. I'll see you at dinner later tonight." I said standing up. "Alright Ryan time to get the smack down." I said with a big smile. All three of them could have killed me with looks which made me smile more. The pride I felt in that moment was great. "Tye, Pythia is up and she said she needs to talk to you." Beth rang out in my head. "I'm on my way." I said before running off. I checked my phone and saw that it had been a few hours since I left and I was shocked. It certainly didn't feel like it but Pythias mind must be occupied if she didn't mind link me herself which made me move a lot faster to see what was going on.
Pythia POV:
When I woke up it took me a few minutes to adjust my eyes, my mind was thinking back on everything that Lucinda had said when I realized there was something I forgot to ask her. I wanted to know the true history of dark witches and vampires. I know that dark witches aided in creating them but, I felt as if there was something more to it than that. "Delilah what is the story behind the dark witches and the vampires?" I asked quickly. "The true reason for creating vampires was to be guards for the dark witches against anything that would hurt them." Delilah replied. I knew it! I knew there was more to it. "Okay what else?" I asked. "Well over time they started separating when they figured out they didn't need each other any longer." Delilah replied. "So is that why Ambrosia and I are so close?" I asked. "Yes, the queen was protected by the best vampire warrior. You two feel a natural pull to each other because of that." Delilah replied.
Now it is all starting to make better sense. I needed to talk to Ambrosia and Tye and let them know what Lucinda said but I also needed to tell them about what Delilah just told me. I stood out of bed and made my side before I went to the closet and grabbed a pair of black leggings with a green tank top. I walked to the bathroom and got dressed, braided my hair and made my way down to the kitchen. "Hey! Feeling any better?" Beth asked. "Yes, much better, thank you. Can you tell Tye that I need him here please?" I asked. "Yes, of course." Beth replied before her eyes glazed over. "Hey Ambrosia, I really need to talk to you can you come over please?" I asked through the link. "Of course. I'm on my way." Ambrosia replied. "Hey, your cuts are gone." Beth said. "Yes, I want you to be in on this conversation too and I'll explain that part." I said with a smile. "Okay, I'll get some drinks. Are you hungry? I can grab you a snack or something." Beth replied. "How about we do that together." I offered. I really needed to spend more quality time with her after all of this is over.
As we were getting everything I heard the front door open, "Pythia?" Ambrosia called out. "We are in here!" I replied. "Is everything okay?" Ambrosia said with a worried expression on her face. "Yes, something just happened that will help us. I'm just waiting for Tye to get here." I said just as the front door opened. I knew it was Tye because he usually stomps when he walks. "Hey my beauty what's going on? You had Beth tell me?" Tye asked. "Yes because I was mind linking Ambrosia and I needed you both here." I replied. "Well what is going on?" Tye asked, looking over me until his eyes landed on my upper chest, his eyes shot up to mine with a confused expression. "Lucinda healed them for me, while I was asleep she had me pulled to her realm where we talked." I said. "Well what did she say?" Ambrosia asked. I turned to look at her with a smile. "Well firstly I know why you and I feel a natural pull to each other." I said with a smile. "Yes, because dark witches helped create it." Ambrosia replied. "Also, because vampires were created to guard the dark witches from any threat. The queen was always protected by the best warrior." I said grinning like I had won a prize.
I watched as Ambrosia replayed the words in her head until they made sense to her. "Are you serious? That actually makes more sense than the original one. Just because you all aided in creating us doesn't mean I would feel such a pull as this." Ambrosia said before she cracked a wide grin. "Also because I always knew I was the best warrior you just verified that for me." Ambrosia added. "Alright don't make your ego any bigger than it is." I laughed. "What did Lucinda say?" Tye asked, sounding a little concerned. "So she showed me Bartholomew and let me tell you he is a lot bigger than the one we seen an in fact some of the others will be bigger as well but, Lucinda has a plan but only a few of you can know so you are the first three to know but you can't tell anyone got it?" I said. They all nodded their heads and it was as if they were hanging on each word I said as I explained how Delilah and I will be separated but she would be cloaked and hidden away, I watched the different expression cross their faces as I described how they are similar to wolves in the way of how they rank which is how big they will be. When I finished they all looked stunned.
Tye cleared his throat and ran his hand through his hair. "I like her plan but that puts you more at risk." Tye said. "She assured me that I will be alive and we will be fine, but it has to be Delilah and I that take him down." I replied. "So you have no limits? You can literally control the elements exactly how you want?" Ambrosia asked. "Yes, apparently I can but I have to work on unlocking that within me." I replied. "Alright, well we can figure that out." Beth said. We didn't have a lot of time and I prayed that I would be able to do this before the actual fight happens.
