Chapter 236 Be Good
Amy sensed something was off tonight. She didn't know the visitor, but she had to serve Benjamin. If she messed up, Alexander's business could be in trouble. So, she forced a smile and said, "Hey guys, let's talk this out. Fighting's scary."
Thomas, disgusted by her voice, snapped, "None of your business."
Amy weakly smiled and picked up a glass of wine. "Don't be mad. How about I drink with you?"
She downed the glass and showed it was empty. "Happy now?"
Thomas replied, "No."
Amy's face fell, and she awkwardly smiled. "What would make you happy?"
Thomas stayed silent.
Amy walked around the table, half-kneeling to massage Damian's legs, but he pulled away, looking at her with disdain.
Feeling more embarrassed, Amy signaled to Ashley. "Ash, the boss likes you. Don't mess this up."
Ashley felt extremely awkward, wishing she could disappear.
Damian's teasing gaze shifted to her, a hint of a smile on his lips. "Ash?"
Ashley, suppressing her embarrassment, asked, "Want a drink?"
Damian leaned back, crossing his legs. "Well, that depends on how you serve it."
Ashley gritted her teeth and forced a smile. "How would you like it served?"
Thomas, supervising Benjamin's drinking, wanted to watch the drama but knew he'd be in trouble if he did.
He resisted the urge to look.
Amy brought over the most expensive bottle of red wine and handed it to Ashley. "Don't just stand there."
Ashley held the bottle, wanting to smash it over Damian's head.
Damian flicked his cigarette ash. "Pour it."
Ashley, feeling aggrieved, said, "Okay."
She poured the wine, the rich aroma filling the air. Holding the glass by the stem, she brought it to Damian's lips. "This is Romanée-Conti, a vintage from Burgundy. Please taste."
Ashley wasn't a wine expert but recognized the $100,000 bottle. She managed a brief commentary, though it felt unnecessary for Damian.
Robert, unable to join the conversation, observed carefully, ready to report back to Alexander. The unexpected guest was likely a mysterious tycoon from Rochester City. Was he here to test them or due to a business issue?
Amy's mind raced. The imposing guest on the sofa had a stunning face and impressive physique, but his dangerous aura made people wary. Who was he? Ordinary people couldn't get to this floor without the manager's special permission.
Damian grabbed Ashley's hand holding the wine glass, his fingers brushing over her smooth hand, sending shivers through her. "This fancy wine should totally be sipped by a lovely lady first, don't you think?"
He twisted her wrist, bringing the glass to her lips. The crimson wine and her red lips made a striking picture. "Be good; open your mouth," Damian whispered.
Ashley's mind was in chaos, her eyes sparkling. She avoided Damian's seductive gaze. "Sorry, I don't drink."
Damian stared at her, catching the hostility in her eyes. "If you don't know how, you can learn."
As soon as Ashley opened her mouth, he tilted the glass, and the wine flowed in.
No matter how good the wine, it shouldn't be drunk like that. Ashley choked and coughed violently, her eyes turning red and tears almost coming out.
Damian was both angry and distressed. He pulled her wrist onto his lap and pressed her shoulder. "Is it good?"
Ashley was furious inside but forced a smile. "It's very good, thank you."
Damian pinched her chin and leaned close to her ear, whispering, "Ashley, who taught you this trick? Or are you naturally good at pleasing men?"
Ashley squirmed, trying to evade the ticklish feeling from his breath. "Mr. Hearst, are you trying to embarrass me?"
Damian's voice turned cold, enunciating each word. "If I hadn't come, would you be in some man's arms right now, saying sweet things? To Benjamin? Or Robert?"
Ashley held back her anger. "Mr. Hearst!"
Damian uttered nonchalantly, "Are you angry? I thought you were the type to bend but not break, willing to dedicate yourself to the law."
Ashley was trapped in his arms, unable to move, her voice suppressed. "What do you want?"
Damian wrapped his arms around her slim waist from behind. Her heavily made-up face didn't match his taste, but her curves and touch were enticing. "I'm here to show my appreciation, Ashley. How can I repay you?" he murmured, his voice a whisper laced with intrigue.
Ashley knew he was referring to Trinity. Earlier in the morning, Paula had informed her that the issue had been resolved and that she hadn't reported it to Damian yet.
It seemed Trinity had informed him personally, and quickly too.
Ashley said, "Mr. Hearst, then please stay away from me, that would be good."
Damian smiled. "I can't do that."
Thomas deliberately turned his head in the opposite direction, secretly drawing a cross in his mind. If Ashley ever made the CEO kneel on the keyboard to apologize, he would make sure to find a softer one for him to kneel on.
Robert still wanted to please Damian, holding a wine glass with both hands. "Hey bro, I toast to you. Let's not hold grudges. Don't be mad at my friend."
Damian glanced at the wine in his glass. "Mr. Walker, you have quite the luck with women."
Robert thought Damian had his eye on his woman and quickly flattered him. "Amara, come pour the wine."
Amara swayed over, bringing a sweet fragrance with her. "I'll drink with you."
As she got close, Damian coldly said, "Get lost."
Amara stared at him, her excitement overcoming her fear, and she even forgot to move her feet as she pondered, 'He is so handsome! If I could sleep with him for one night, it would be worth it.'
Robert pulled Amara a few steps away. "Didn't you hear the boss tell you to get lost? Do you think he would be interested in a woman like you?"
Amara felt wronged but didn't dare to act out.
Robert smiled. "if we've dropped the ball on our hospitality, sorry about that. I can be a bit slow sometimes, so please clue me in on where we went wrong."
Ashley was afraid Damian would say something harsher and gently tugged at his clothes from behind.
Damian seemed completely unaware of her hint and continued, "Where's Alexander?"
