Chapter 549 His Own Father Personally Took Action

Samantha was stunned.

Her fingers instinctively clutched the ointment, and she glanced uneasily at Damian.

Ashley was being too bold, daring to talk to Damian like that?

The last person who yelled at him, who knows how long they've been dead.

In her anxiety, Samantha felt a bit of sympathy for Ashley. She was doomed; she was probably going to die.

Damian's throat tightened, and his jawline straightened slowly due to suppressed emotions. He restrained his temper, swallowing the words that were about to spill out, turning a raging torrent into a gentle stream. "I don't think there's anything we need to avoid between us. I said I wouldn't look, and I won't. If you're not afraid of pain, you can temporarily not apply it. Mr. Collins said the injury isn't severe. Just avoid strenuous activity and rest well, and it will heal in two days."

Samantha was stunned again!

This shock was even more intense than when Ashley yelled at him.

Was there something wrong with her ears? How could she be hallucinating?

Did Damian really say that?

Had he changed his personality, or was he possessed?

Ashley still felt uncomfortable. She couldn't understand why Damian was so stubborn and arrogant. Was her request too much? Shouldn't divorced men and women avoid such situations?

She just wanted him to step out for a moment, not rudely kick him out.

Was he really that stubborn? Was it necessary?

Taking a deep breath, Ashley gritted her teeth, "Fine, I'll go back and apply it."

She struggled to get up, using her hands to support herself on the sofa. The movement was excruciating.

Samantha helped her, "Ms. Astor, be careful."

Ashley felt the pain, her face almost contorted, but her voice remained strong, "I'm fine. I won't disturb Mr. Hearst's peace. Let's go."

Natalia couldn't understand the reason behind it, but she could feel the adults' emotions. Ashley was unhappy, and Damian was also unhappy.

Was it her fault? If she hadn't said she wanted to go to the amusement park, this wouldn't have happened, right?

Natalia mumbled, "Auntie, I'm sorry. It's my fault. Did I hurt you? Are you in pain?"

Damian spoke before Ashley could, reaching out to smooth Natalia's hair, "It's not Natalia's fault. Ashley was careless, and I didn't consider the safety issues. When you come to play tomorrow, no one will get hurt."

After all, which child doesn't like amusement parks? Natalia looked at Ashley, then at the pink-themed amusement facilities outside.

Ashley couldn't bear it, "I'm fine, Natalia. Don't be sad. Just be careful next time, and you won't get hurt."

Natalia whispered, "Can Uncle accompany me tomorrow?"

Damian's Adam's apple moved with difficulty. If you looked closely, you could see his fingers silently clenching, "Someone will accompany you tomorrow, Natalia. Don't worry."

Was he really that proud? Couldn't he just put aside his pride?

If he liked Natalia so much, couldn't he play with her for a bit? Children are easy to please; a few minutes would make them happy.

Ashley wanted to get angry, but hearing Damian speak so gently to Natalia, she couldn't, "Natalia, let's go."

Natalia reluctantly waved to Damian, "See you tomorrow, Uncle."

Damian smiled, "Okay, see you tomorrow, Natalia."

After Ashley left, Martin and Jasper came in.

Seeing his frustrated expression, Martin put down the silver needles and smiled, "If you don't want her to misunderstand or get angry, why not tell her the truth? Ashley isn't unreasonable; she would understand."

Damian pressed his fist on his leg, his jaw tight, "I don't want her to be lenient with me out of sympathy. She's very soft-hearted."

Jasper didn't understand, "I think Ashley is quite tough. She always speaks to you so distantly and harshly."

Damian said, "Because I used to speak to her even more distantly and harshly. She's already being very polite to me."

Jasper still didn't get it, "But you were busy all night yesterday, barely slept, and managed to set up such a big amusement park. Isn't Ashley touched?"

She didn't seem very excited, almost as if it was expected.

Damian said, "These are small matters, not worth mentioning to her. Go down later and bring her some things. She needs nutrition for her injury."

"Got it." Jasper didn't understand the complexities between men and women.

They were always at each other's throats when they met, but started missing each other when apart.

So complicated!

Martin began the treatment, massaging the area continuously. Soon, Damian's legs were covered in marks.

"The necrotic nerves need to be slowly repaired, but I can't guarantee that I can restore you to your original state. If it can't be cured, are you sure you want to keep hiding it? The truth can't be hidden forever. You see each other almost every day; she'll find out sooner or later."

Damian pressed hard on his leg, but his legs seemed detached from his body, unresponsive.

This feeling was like facing Ashley. He used to have all sorts of reasons to keep her by his side. Now, he couldn't even find an excuse to hold onto her.

"In a month, I'll tell her everything myself."

He gave himself another month. Whether he recovered or not, he would give her an explanation.

After the acupuncture, Martin left.

Thomas's car soon arrived at the villa.

Seeing the children's entertainment facilities in the yard, Thomas was a bit confused, then genuinely impressed. Damian really spoiled his daughter to the core!

"Mr. Damian Hearst, these are the bidding projects the KM Group will participate in this quarter. Mr. Bryan Hearst wants you to review them personally."

"Understood."

"Also, we're starting the offensive against Volcano as planned. Their stock price fluctuated significantly today, but Chad has some tricks up his sleeve. He announced on Twitter and Facebook that the company will release a new product soon, so the stock price might rebound."

Damian sneered, "Then target their new product for our next attack. No matter what Volcano does to counter, we'll respond accordingly."

"Yes!"

Evercrest City.

April's face was gloomy as she threw down the financial report, "I guess Damian is behind this. Our branch manager was exposed in a scandal, and the stock price has dropped significantly."

Chad remained unfazed, playing with a gold ring on his thumb, "Is that all they can do? I'm really disappointed! The new product launch is scheduled for tomorrow night. The stock price will only go up, not down."

April shrugged, clearly unimpressed by his arrogance, "How do you plan to deal with KM? Just defending ourselves isn't enough; we need to speed up."

Chad lazily yawned, "Without Damian at KM, it feels like something's missing."

April sneered at his arrogance, "KM's CEO is Bryan. Isn't it more satisfying to go after your own father directly?"

"Him? He's not on the same level as Damian," Chad pondered for a few seconds before continuing, "KM is bidding for an amusement park project in Rochester City. Find a company to compete with them."

"Got it."

"Victor and Damian have always been at odds. Bringing him into our camp to dismantle KM from within would be faster," Chad's calculating eyes gleamed sinisterly.

April nodded in agreement, "Victor is about to marry Trinity. Emperial Avenue Group has suffered before. If he gets a helping hand now, he'll do everything he can to go against Damian and seize his shares. We'll benefit without lifting a finger. After all, compared to Damian, Victor is a nobody."

Chad snapped his fingers, a sly grin spreading across his face, "That's my sister, smart as always. Find a domestic company fully funded by Volcano and arrange a meeting with Victor and Edward."

"OK."
