Chapter 311 The Plane on the Mountain Top, So Arrogant!

Damian's sneer was obvious, dripping with disdain. "If a few words could decide my future, what's the point of having hands? I believe my destiny is in my own hands. I don't need your help."

Bodhi sighed, looking into Damian's determined eyes, unwilling to give up his last fight. "Young man, sometimes you don't need to be so cocky. Sure, you can achieve a lot through hard work, but sometimes destiny is determined, and you can't fight it."

What destiny in his life couldn't be fought?

Nothing, except Ashley, could shake him, make him feel helpless, or fill him with anxiety. But if it was about Ashley, he'd do whatever it took to reach his goal without anyone's guidance.

So Damian said firmly, "If we just go along with destiny's whims, wouldn't we be puppets? Living like zombies, always controlled by some mysterious master of fate. I think we wouldn't even need to be human."

Ashley pursed her lips, sensing the tension in the air, and pressed her palm to her forehead, squeezing hard. He was utterly infuriating, dismissing Bodhi's lifetime work with a wave of his hand, and treating it with such disrespect.

Luckily, Bodhi had the patience of a master. He didn't show any displeasure and said gently, "Well, we all have our own paths to follow. Since you believe you can control your destiny, go ahead. If one day you want to come back to me, I'll be waiting at the top of Foggy Mountain."

Damian was certain, "That day will never come."

His determined attitude was clear, and Ashley couldn't bear to see Bodhi being rebuked by him, so she interjected, "Bodhi, please don't mind him. He talks like this, but he doesn't mean any harm. He just has a bit of a temper."

Damian was speechless.

A trace of heartache flashed across Bodhi's otherwise emotionless face, as his eyes lingered on Ashley's slender face for a moment, "Miss, you and this young man..."

Ashley didn't have Damian's strong heart. Hearing Bodhi's words, she couldn't help but lean in, wanting to glimpse the unknown future within his words, "Bodhi, did you see something?"

Bodhi extended his withered hand, "Let me see your palm."

Ashley extended her right hand, anxiously waiting for his diagnosis, feeling like she was waiting for a doctor's diagnosis.

Bodhi looked carefully for a while, then released her hand and recited a Buddhist phrase, "Miss, let go of your obsessions. Life might be simpler and happier."

Ashley frowned, "Which obsession are you referring to?"

Bodhi said, "The world's frenetic energy is fueled by the relentless pursuit of love. Since you know it, I won't say more."

Ashley's heart felt like it was hit by something heavy and painful.

Did Bodhi see that she was stubborn in love? Was he advising her to let go of what she shouldn't hold on to and seek true happiness?

Without a word, Damian grabbed her wrist and pulled her to his side, "Mr. Collins is still waiting for you at the foot of the mountain. Before you meddle in others' affairs, take care of your own first."

Bodhi clasped his hands together, not minding too much, "With my current health, I'm afraid I can't get down from this Foggy Mountain."

Damian smirked, his eyes glittering with mockery. Bodhi talked so grandly, yet was unable to get down the mountain. If he was so powerful, why didn't he simply leave?

"You don't need to climb the mountain. Just prepare what you want to say, and I'll handle the rest," Damian said.

As they walked out of the room, Ashley shook off his hand. "How can you talk to an elder like that? And he's a high monk of this temple. You should at least show some respect in this sacred place."

Damian frowned. "You believe the old monk's nonsense?"

When Bodhi mentioned letting go of obsessions, Damian wanted to kick him and tear down the house.

Did he even understand? Giving random advice on others' lives, could he bear the responsibility?

Ashley locked her cold gaze on his impatient eyes. "It's not about believing or not. It's about respecting elders. Forget it, Mr. Hearst. You were born into nobility. Respect is a concept you seem completely unfamiliar with."

She turned and walked away quickly, not wanting to deal with him.

Damian took a deep breath of the mountain air and followed. "It's not that I don't respect him. I just respect myself more."

He was willing and able to take responsibility for any decision he made.

Ashley knew he was full of logic and meticulous in his thinking, considering everything he said, so she didn't argue further. "You said you arranged for Bodhi and Mr. Collins to meet. How?"

Damian snorted. "Now you know you need people to solve problems?"

Ashley gritted her teeth.

More than three hours later, Ashley finally saw Damian's so-called method.

He dispatched a helicopter.

The helicopter flew directly to the mountain top, hovering with a roar that caused nearby plants to sway wildly.

The white private helicopter, like a huge and beautiful swallow, flew through the clouds, attracting countless tourists' screams and shouts. "Wow! A helicopter! Rich people, damn!"

"A helicopter?! That's such a ridiculous luxury! Who does that?"

"Extravagant to the extreme. Quick, take pictures. It's spectacular."

Ashley stood in a corner behind the crowd, sneering. "Satisfied? Everyone is worshiping you."

Damian was indifferent. "Do I need their worship?"

Ashley chuckled, looking at the helicopter's rotor blades stirring up gusts of wind. "As expected of a rich person. You could be even more ostentatious."

Damian confirmed the position with the pilot, put down his phone, and said, "I'm just getting things done, not showing off wealth."

Besides, it was just a helicopter. Was that showing off wealth?

Ridiculous.

Ashley was still looking up at the helicopter adjusting its angle when Damian grabbed her wrist and said, "Come on, let's get your revered Bodhi on board."

So, amidst the crowd's admiration and envy, the staff walked down the ladder handsomely, secured Bodhi in a stable chair with a seatbelt, and lifted him into the air, sending him into the cabin.

Ashley and Damian also boarded smoothly.

Walking in the misty air, Ashley felt her heart was flying, afraid of stepping into the abyss, but she was clearly overthinking. The crew's professionalism was comparable to that of special forces.

Ashley couldn't help but wonder how Damian managed this. In just a few hours, he mobilized so many people in Coastal City.

The helicopter didn't immediately descend but took them on a tour around the mountain peak.

Looking down through the window, the endless mountains and rivers unfolded like a dreamlike painting.

Bodhi sat by the window, looking at the rivers and lands below, and murmured, "All living beings..."

His tone was full of compassion.

Damian sat cross-legged on the front sofa. As the host, his posture was impeccable. "Bodhi, with all your calculations, did you foresee this?"
