Chapter 325 Still Breathing, Take a Look

The headlights were blinding, making the guy's face look ghostly pale, and his features all blurred together.

But Damian recognized him right away. It was Benjamin, one of Alexander's lackeys. They'd met at the Clearwater Bay Club's private room.

What did he do back then?

Forced Ashley to drink!

"Mr. Hearst, Mr. Hearst, please wait!!" he yelled.

Alexander got into trouble and got arrested, dragging Robert down with him. Now, their fates were in the hands of the cops, and their lives were pretty much over.

Luckily, they hadn't traced anything back to him yet. Benjamin was freaking out, hadn't slept for days, trying everything to save his skin. Finally, he set his sights on Damian.

Damian was powerful, didn't fear anyone, and had crazy resources. If he stepped in, anything was possible.

Benjamin was ready to give up everything he had to Damian if it meant saving his life.

But Damian was like a ghost, never showing up in public. How was he supposed to find him?

In the end, he bribed a security guard at KM to find out what car Damian usually drove and where he stayed. He'd been staking out for three nights and finally saw the car. "Mr. Hearst! Mr. Hearst, save me!!"

Damian frowned, pressing his long fingers to his brow. "Roy, drive."

"Yes," Roy said.

Blocking Damian's car was a death wish!

Roy started the car, not hesitating to use Benjamin as a human shield.

Seeing this, Benjamin broke out in a cold sweat and shouted hoarsely, "Mr. Hearst, save me, Mr. Hearst!!"

Desperate, he threw himself onto the hood of the car.

Roy had no choice but to brake again.

Seeing the car stop, Benjamin was both surprised and relieved. He ran to the back seat, clinging to the window and gripping the handle tightly. "Mr. Hearst, please listen to me."

Damian impatiently rolled down the window halfway, showing no intention of getting out. "Mr. Johnson, we meet again."

Benjamin was about to say, "When did we meet?" but then he took a closer look. The man in the car looked so familiar.

His eyes widened, and a thunderous realization almost knocked him down. "It's... it's you?"

The man he met in the private room that day, how could it be him?

Damian's face was expressionless. Even without any movement, the hostility in his eyes was enough to make anyone feel small. "It's me."

A cold, icy statement.

Benjamin's knees went weak, and he pleaded. "I was wrong, Mr. Hearst, I was wrong! I was blind not to recognize you. Please, Mr. Hearst, have mercy, Mr. Hearst, you..."

His self-deprecating words continued, but Damian didn't want to hear anymore. "Shut up."

Benjamin trembled all over, his hands propped on the car door, cold sweat streaming down his face. "Mr. Hearst, please, please save my life. I'll give you anything you want, everything."

It seemed he was afraid Alexander's case would implicate him, and he was desperately seeking help.

Damian's cold face remained unmoved, his head still slightly leaning against the seat. His sharp jawline formed a cold and hard contour, exuding extreme pressure without any action.

"What do I want?" he murmured. "Your life."

Benjamin's face turned ashen, his neck and forehead stiffened, and blood trickled from the wound on his forehead, splitting his face in two. "Mr. Hearst, I own a listed company, several factories, real estate, and stocks and bonds. I'll give them all to you, all to you. Please, save my life."

Damian glanced coldly. "Get lost."

"Mr. Hearst, save me!" Benjamin pleaded.

Damian didn't give Benjamin another glance, rolling up the window. "Drive."

The window shut out Benjamin's bleeding face and the noise.

The car cruised into Imperial Residence. Roy stopped and opened the back door. "Mr. Hearst."

Damian adjusted his collar with one hand. "What do you want to say?"

Roy nodded. "Benjamin could be a useful pawn. Some of his resources might come in handy."

Damian said, "Pleading for someone isn't like you."

Roy sighed softly. "Today is Miss Hearst's death anniversary. I got a bit soft-hearted. I'm sorry."

Damian walked to the elevator. "Benjamin messed with people he shouldn't have. He deserves to die."

Hearing this, Roy didn't dare say another word.

He could only think, serves him right.

The next day, at the law firm.

Hannah brought coffee to Ashley's office, speaking mysteriously. "Ashley, I saw that scheming woman Lynn go out this morning. She seemed quite happy."

"And then?" Ashley said.

"Don't you think it's strange? She lost Robert's case to you and only got a small lawyer's fee, but she didn't try to squeeze you out. That's not like her," Hannah said.

Speaking of that money, after Ashley received the commission, she divided it into several parts and sent it to three creditors. Each got a portion. Though it was a drop in the bucket, it was better than doing nothing.

"Is she in love?" Ashley said.

Hannah's eyes rolled. "After experiencing someone like Mr. Long, who else could she be interested in? Maybe she's going to see Mr. Long."

Ashley took a sip of coffee. "Does she know the address?"

Hannah chuckled. "Didn't I tell her?"

Ashley almost spat out her coffee. "Hmm?"

"Don't get excited. I gave her a fake one," Hannah said.

Ashley thought, 'Fake? Then she shouldn't be able to meet Hendrix. Why is she so happy?'

"Where did you say?" Ashley said.

Hannah flipped her hair, looking cool. "I said Sapphire Villas, number eight."

Ashley thought, 'Sapphire Villas sounds familiar. Who lives there?'

"Be careful not to drag others into this," Ashley said.

Hannah thought to herself, that was the point. She played with the vibrant red roses on the table, smiling. "Ashley, who sent these flowers? Rain or shine, twice a week. We're all so jealous."

Ashley ruffled her hair. "Not telling you."

She remembered Sean lived in the Sapphire Villas.

If Lynn kept hanging around there, would she run into Sean?

In the afternoon meeting, Harold took on a case of a support lawsuit. An adopted son refused to support his adoptive parents after marriage and occupied their house as a marital home, refusing to return it.

The lawyers scolded the adopted son, and then the case was handed to Riley.

After the meeting, Ashley received a call from Damian.

Since returning from the cemetery, Ashley had deliberately avoided thinking about those matters. But as soon as his name appeared, many details resurfaced.

She closed the blinds, sealing off the office space, and answered the phone. "Mr. Hearst, what's up?"

Damian was driving and using a Bluetooth headset. His voice was close and clear. "Aren't you going to get your car?"

Ashley said, "I'll go get it this afternoon."

She had left the car at the cemetery yesterday. Hopefully, it hadn't been ticketed for illegal parking.

Damian said, "Then come directly to me. I'll give you an address."

Hearing that he wanted to meet, Ashley instinctively became wary. "What's the matter?"

"While Steven still has a breath left, don't you want to see him?" Damian said.

Ashley had been running around these past few days, her mind filled with various tasks, and she had forgotten about Steven. "I'll come find you later."

"No rush, I'll wait for you," Damian said.
