Chapter 524 The Way a Man Holds His Daughter

Cleo was also terrified, dropped the kite, and ran after the adults.

On the way, Ashley held Natalia tightly, guilt and worry making her tremble all over, "Natalia, wake up, don't scare me."

Sean drove at the speed limit, racing to the nearest hospital, "Ashley, don't scare yourself. Natalia just lacks exercise and overexerted herself today, causing her to faint. She'll be fine, trust me, she'll be fine."

Ashley's eyes reddened with guilt, "It's my fault for being too careless. I knew she wasn't in good health and didn't take care of her. Sean, drive faster, faster."

Seeing her pale face, Sean's heart ached, and he couldn't help but press the gas pedal to the floor.

Cleo carefully held Ashley's arm and softly said, "Ashley, don't cry. Natalia is strong; she'll get better."

Ashley took several deep breaths to calm herself down.

Soon, the emergency doctor pushed Natalia into the emergency room.

Sean waited with her outside, seeing her trembling all over. He moved closer, put his arm around her shoulders, and held her in his embrace.

His actions were restrained, not intrusive, just providing her with protection and support.

Finding strength in his support, Ashley leaned her head on his shoulder, "Sean, I'm afraid of this day. I'm really scared that she won't come out once she's pushed in."

She tried to hold back her tears and not show her fear, but facing the threat of death, her instinctive fear was evident in her body language.

Sean felt her sadness and repression and gently comforted her, "I'm sorry, it's my fault. Next time, we'll let the kids play indoors, no jumping or running. I overlooked Natalia's condition. I'll take responsibility for this accident."

Ashley shook her head, "How can I blame you? Your intention was just to make them happy."

Seeing Ashley so helpless like a child, Sean felt a mix of emotions. If he could, he wanted to be someone she could rely on, no matter how difficult it was, he was willing to stand in front of her and bear it for her.

Two hours later, Natalia was pushed out of the emergency room.

Her little face was still pale, but she was awake, blinking her misty eyes.

Ashley rushed over and held her little hand, "Natalia, does it hurt?"

Natalia shook her head weakly, "It doesn't hurt, Auntie, it doesn't hurt."

She was always so sensible, enduring more suffering than adults but rarely crying or making a fuss. She would take injections and medicine without complaint.

Ashley felt heartbroken, barely holding back her tears.

Since Natalia was a long-term patient, the doctor gave the necessary reminders and then let them go through the discharge procedures.

Natalia was still very weak, so Sean carried her, and the four of them walked out of the emergency building together.

Cleo held Ashley's hand and walked behind, looking at Sean's tall figure, sweetly saying, "Ashley, isn't my dad handsome?"

Ashley smiled, admiring Sean's tall back. He was good at holding children, with a steady posture and calm steps. His coat outlined his broad shoulders, giving a strong sense of security.

Every time she saw a tall man holding his daughter, Ashley thought it was so handsome and cool. Of course, she had also fantasized about Damian holding a child.

Perhaps dreams coming true were just like this.

"Handsome, Cleo's dad is very handsome."

If Sean hadn't been there today, Ashley wouldn't have known how to handle such a sudden situation. She was so nervous that she probably couldn't even drive properly.

Cleo looked up, proudly saying, "Ashley, my dad is really, really good. He's the best dad in the world and the best man. Will you consider him?"

Ashley was amused by her innocent promotion, "Cleo, your dad is such a great man. He should find a great and wonderful wife, but I'm not good enough."

Cleo pouted, feeling defeated, "My dad is getting old, so pitiful, even you don't want him."

Ashley almost laughed, "Your dad is not old at all."

Sean heard the conversation between the two females behind him and couldn't help but laugh.

At this moment, Jessica opened the car door and saw Ashley.

She was a bit surprised and confirmed again, "Ms. Astor? Is it you?"

Ashley didn't expect to meet Jessica here. Her mind instantly recalled a scene she accidentally saw in Damian's study, and she smiled, "Hello, Jessica, what a coincidence."

Jessica had heard that Ashley went abroad and was surprised to see her today. She looked at Sean holding a child and the little girl holding Ashley's hand, and a thought crossed her mind.

"Mr. Ross, you..."

Sean said, "The child wasn't feeling well, so we came to check."

Ashley didn't say much. She didn't want Jessica to know too much about her personal affairs and subconsciously put her on the dislike list.

Jessica nodded understandingly, "The weather is so cold, children are most likely to catch a cold. Make sure to dress warmly and keep them warm."

Ashley sneered inwardly. The words were all the same, enough to get along with, "Thank you for the reminder. Are you working overtime? We won't disturb you."

Jessica watched them leave, deep in thought.

Sean's late wife only had one daughter, so the child he was holding, could it be Ashley's?

Whose child was she?

Jessica didn't work at Evergreen Valley Hospital & Wellness Center. She came specifically to see Tyrell, who was working overtime at the fever clinic.

"Uncle Tyrell, you're already a chief doctor, still working on weekends. Do you have to work so hard?"

Jessica sat in Tyrell's office, naturally acting spoiled.

Tyrell picked up his coffee. "You don't go out to play on weekends and come to see me just to tease me?"

Jessica pouted, "Uncle Tyrell, I went to see Mr. Hearst today. It wasn't pleasant, and I'm quite confused."

Tyrell put down his teacup, looking serious."Weren't you getting along well?"

"Mr. Hearst said he has someone he likes, but I don't know who it is. Aren't you and Hayden good friends? Can you find out for me?"

Tyrell sighed, "I should have matched you with Hayden. You insisted on going after Mr. Hearst."

"Come on, help me out!"

Tyrell tapped her head, feeling helpless, but eventually agreed, "I'll try. Hayden is clever and tight-lipped."

Jessica smiled, saying Tyrell was the best. After a pause, she asked, "Uncle Tyrell, do you know Ashley? She seems to be quite familiar with Mr. Young and the others."

Tyrell was puzzled, "Isn't Ashley Hayden's girlfriend? Hayden used to ask about her indirectly, but it seems he's still single, so they probably broke up."

Jessica was confused. Ashley was close to Damian, how could she be Hayden's girlfriend?

Was there some misunderstanding?

Ashley suddenly returned, and Damian's attitude changed. There seemed to be a subtle connection.

"Uncle Tyrell, is Ashley married? She seems to have a daughter."
