Chapter 381 Calling Out Names and Cursing
The director and producer immediately halted all filming upon hearing about the incident on set and launched a full investigation into the coffee incident.
Garry saw Jessa's gloomy face, picked up a glass of water, and personally handed it to her, asking with concern, "Feeling any better?"
Jessa forced a grim smile, her discomfort making her irritable and more short-tempered than usual, "What do you think?"
Garry comforted her, "We've pushed all your scenes to later. Take a good rest. I'll find out who's behind this. What did the doctor say?"
The on-set emergency doctor didn't dare to be careless and thoroughly examined her, confirming it was food poisoning causing acute diarrhea.
Jessa's assistant twisted the girl's arm and pushed her forward, "Director Glenn, she said the coffee was given by someone claiming to be Ms. Greer's cousin. If we find that person, we can get to the truth."
The girl was trembling all over, barely daring to breathe, let alone look the director in the eye.
Garry said, "Jessa, we'll give you a satisfactory explanation. Don't be afraid."
Jessa's shoulders shook with grievance, almost in tears, "This is too much, bullying me like this."
With that, she took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Darling, I was bullied on set. Someone drugged me, and my stomach hurts so much."
Garry covered his mouth and coughed lightly, then walked away and loudly called for security.
In less than ten minutes, security had intercepted everyone entering and leaving the set.
Amelia looked worried at the commotion, "Ashley, will they recognize you?"
Ashley had already taken off her sunglasses, tied her long hair into a ponytail, changed into a different top she had with her, and altered her lipstick color, looking completely different from when she came in, "What do you think?"
Amelia said firmly, "No way!"
Ashley crossed her arms, "It's just diarrhea, the real show hasn't even started yet."
Amelia looked at her expectantly, "What else did you do?"
Ashley tapped her nose, "Just wait and see."
The assistant twisted the girl's arm, identifying every woman present, including extras, over a hundred people in total, but found no target. The girl shrank back and shook her head, "No... she's not here."
Jessa, furious, threw her cup, "Did she grow wings and fly out? Have you checked the dressing room, props department, and changing room?"
Garry ordered a thorough search again.
Amelia and Ashley stood among the crowd, watching the girl get closer.
The girl paused slightly in front of Ashley, then walked away.
"Wait!"
Jessa noticed the girl's hesitation, stared at the unfamiliar pretty face, and pointed, "Who is she?"
There were many extras, and she naturally didn't know them all, but such a beautiful face, she would have remembered.
Amelia stepped in front, "Ms. Greer, you don't suspect my friend, do you? She just got here two minutes ago."
Jessa snorted coldly, grabbing the girl's wrist tightly. "Look carefully. Is it her? If you say one wrong word, don't think about staying in the film city."
The girl shook her head, "I remember, that person had their hair tied up and was wearing a white top."
Ashley was wearing a sky-blue shirt, white cigarette pants, and white sneakers, a fresh and youthful look. Her waist-length hair was slightly curled, framing her delicate oval face, and her harmless smile made her look like an innocent student.
Garry's eyes lit up when he saw her!
This face was practically made for the lead role in his next movie.
He approached her like a collector encountering a rare piece of art, "What's your name?"
Ashley felt uncomfortable being stared at like that.
Amelia had a knowing look on her face, thinking Ashley should stay home and not go anywhere, she was too eye-catching.
"Director, she's not in the industry and has no plans to enter it, so don't get any ideas."
Garry continued to admire her as if she were a treasure, unwilling to look away, "Since she's Amelia's friend, we'll talk later."
What woman wouldn't be tempted by the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry? Garry believed he could persuade her if he hit the right spot.
Jessa dug her nails into her palm and suddenly sneered, "You're not part of our crew, so you're a suspect—search her bag!"
With that, three assistants rushed over, roughly grabbed Ashley, and dumped all her belongings on the ground.
Amelia gritted her teeth and grabbed one of the assistants, glaring at Jessa, "Damn it! I've been giving you face, but you think you're so great!"
Jessa laughed coldly, "Amelia, who do you think you are? How dare you yell at me? Get lost!"
Ashley pulled Amelia back and stood in front of her. "Ms. Greer, I searched my bag without permission. If something valuable is lost, will you be responsible?"
Jessa hated seeing women prettier than her. Garry's look just now was enough to show that if this woman entered the entertainment industry, she would definitely compete for her resources. She had to hold on to every script Garry had!
Any woman who threatened her position deserved to die.
Jessa said righteously, "Until the culprit is found, everyone is a suspect. Is it wrong to search for evidence?"
Ashley said, "If something is stolen, you have the right to search, but do you have a search warrant? Have you gone through the police? Searching someone's belongings without permission is an invasion of privacy, do you know you can be prosecuted?"
Jessa's mouth twitched, "What did you say?"
Ashley said coldly, without any expression, "You forcibly searched my bag, I have the right to sue you. Ms. Greer, you should be familiar with a lawyer's letter, right?"
Hearing about a lawyer's letter, Jessa felt a bit guilty, but the coffee incident was definitely man-made, "Are you crazy? What nonsense are you talking about? I'm the victim here!"
Ashley snorted, "What to do? I'm a victim too."
The scene was chaotic, but only Ashley's voice was clearly heard by everyone. Her cold aura quickly attracted all eyes.
Including Damian, who was sitting in the car.
He had his driver watch Amelia's apartment building last night, keeping an eye on their movements.
After confirming Ashley's whereabouts, he reported to Damian, who then arrived at the film city.
Not too early, not too late, he saw Ashley put something in the coffee cup.
At that moment, he didn't think Ashley was mean, but rather found her adorable.
Punishing the arrogant and domineering, harmlessly venting some anger.
Not bad.
Seeing Ashley's personal belongings scattered on the ground, Damian frowned deeply.
The driver saw his expression and almost had a heart attack.
He tightened his neck, not daring to breathe, afraid of getting his head twisted off.
Damian dialed Christian's number, his tone unfriendly, "What kind of idiots does your entertainment company employ?"
Christian was baffled. "Don't tell me you went to the film city. I never heard you wanted to get into the entertainment industry. Did you fancy some actress and plan to start a company just for her?"
Damian said, "You have one day to get rid of a woman named Jessa."
Jessa?
Christian had a bunch of artists under him: beautiful, sexy, charming, and talented. There were too many to count, as for Jessa.
"Oh, her! A friend is keeping her around for fun. What did she do to piss you off, Mr. Hearst, to get you to call her out by name?"
Damian didn't want to deal with the entertainment industry, too dirty and messy, "Cut the crap."
Hanging up, Christian eagerly called his people, "Which crew is Jessa in?"
The response came quickly, "At Limehof Film City, 'The Realm's Legacy,' directed by Garry."
Christian thought for a moment, the name sounded familiar.
He searched his computer records and quickly found a familiar name in the cast list—Amelia.
This was getting interesting.
He turned and called his assistant, "Cancel the schedule for the next two days and book a flight to Limehof."
