Chapter 417 Truly Graceful and Elegant
Inside the car.
Evelina was cheerfully humming a rap, dancing around, and showing off to Damian, "I bet Ashley will go!"
Damian, with a cold face and no extra expression, looked like he was watching a monkey jumping around. "Sit still, or the animal association will take you away."
Today, their grandfather was unwell, so Damian, Victor, Nathan, Evelina, and a group of others went home to visit. Fortunately, the doctor said it was nothing serious in the end.
This also gave Evelina an opportunity to stick to him.
She had been clinging to him since lunch, while she only gave a few perfunctory words to her own two brothers.
This left Victor and Nathan feeling quite helpless about their sister.
"Damian, come with me. Our school is really beautiful. I'll show you around!"
Damian replied coldly, "No."
Evelina persisted, "Sean's lecture is really interesting. As a lawyer's family member, you should learn some legal knowledge, right? Otherwise, how will you communicate? There will be a generation gap!"
Damian smoked a cigarette and still refused coldly, but only he knew that when he heard the words "lawyer's family member," the corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "Sean's lecture, worthy of my time?"
The person he disliked the most was Sean.
What moved him was Evelina's last sentence, "What if I can get Ashley to go too?"
So, he reluctantly agreed to accompany Evelina to audit the lecture.
Evelina hugged a pillow, feeling particularly proud after succeeding, "Don't look so grumpy. You'll be so happy when you see Ashley later!"
Damian sat in the back, arms crossed and eyes closed, "Did she agree? Don't be wishful thinking."
"How about a bet? If Ashley goes, you teach me how to race."
"And if you lose?"
Evelina thought for a moment, "If I lose, I'll be your unpaid assistant and help you pursue Ashley."
"Do I need your help?"
As an outstanding graduate of the Law and Politics University, Sean was invited back to his alma mater to give a lecture every year.
Every time he appeared, it was a grand event for the school, and he took the opportunity to win over a large number of enthusiastic juniors.
Lynn had only heard about Sean's significant influence on his alma mater before, but seeing it with her own eyes today, she realized Sean was practically a star.
As the car drove into the campus, there were huge posters of him everywhere, showing Sean in a black suit with a metal badge, shining like a bright pearl, surrounded by dazzling golden light.
Lynn sneaked a glance at the elegant gentleman in the back seat, her heart pounding.
She was determined to win Sean over!
To avenge the humiliation Hendrix caused her and completely change her destiny!
Before Sean even got out of the car, Principal Terry Perez and the Dean of the Law School were already waiting outside. Terry personally came forward, warmly extending his hand, "Sean, how was the trip? Was there any traffic? It's really hot today."
As he finished speaking, an assistant quickly held an umbrella over Sean's head, shielding him from the blazing sun.
Such a grand and respectful ceremony, even without lavish decorations, still made one feel immensely proud.
Lynn straightened her back even more, standing proudly beside them.
Sean humbly said, "Mr. Perez, you're too kind. I'm your student; I should have arrived earlier. How could I trouble you to wait? Please don't do this next time; it makes me feel ashamed."
When Sean was a student, Terry taught his criminal law class, and Sean had great respect for this professor. As the principal, Terry generally didn't have much time to interact with students, but he made an exception for Sean.
With a warm smile, Terry said, "You're so busy, yet you still honor me by coming here. It's only right that I come out to greet you. Come in and have a seat."
Sean was highly regarded by the school not only because of his exceptional abilities but also because of his powerful background. Even the mayor had to show him respect.
Lynn smiled and nodded, "Mr. Perez, hello. I'm Mr. Ross's assistant, Lynn."
As Sean's assistant, she naturally enjoyed the respect of others.
Terry glanced at her and then personally instructed, "Help Lynn with her things."
An assistant quickly stepped forward and took her briefcase.
With this small gesture, Lynn already felt the sweet taste of "special treatment."
Once you got a taste of this, it was hard to stop.
Ashley regretted it as soon as she arrived at the venue.
She was too late; the three-story auditorium was already packed, more crowded than the opening ceremony.
When she was in college, she had heard that Sean from the Law and Politics University was the most handsome guy in school, a heartthrob, a walking advertisement for admissions. After Sean graduated, he came back every year to give lectures.
It was said that Sean was also the youngest Ph.D. at the Law and Politics University, graduating at just twenty-five.
A twenty-five-year-old Ph.D. in law! Just hearing about it was impressive.
But back then, her heart was already full of Damian, and she didn't want to give any of it to anyone else, not even an industry elite.
Thinking about it now, it seemed a bit ridiculous.
"Ashley! Ashley, you're here too! Come over here!"
It wasn't Hannah's sharp eyes; even through the crowd, she spotted Ashley being squeezed. Ashley's height and looks made her stand out, easily recognizable in a crowd.
Ashley struggled through the crowd and finally sat next to Hannah.
"How do you have two seats?"
Hannah boasted, "I'm shameless enough. Seats are first-come, first-served, so I put my stuff down to save them."
"Who are you saving the seat for?"
She hadn't told Hannah she was coming.
Hannah dodged the question, avoiding Ashley's gaze, "No one, just... wanted to look cool."
As a lawyer, if Ashley couldn't see through this little trick, she might as well quit.
Hannah probably had a crush on someone.
Even though she always called Sean her idol and wanted to have his babies, Sean's age and status didn't match hers.
With Hannah graduating smoothly, it was time for her to consider personal matters.
Ashley would keep an eye out for her.
Sean took the stage, and under the spotlight, the man in a matte black suit was elegant and graceful. Perhaps because he was born into a military family, Sean had excellent posture. His perfect body proportions and upright walk made him look like a suited officer.
Even without saying a word, his sense of justice was enough to excite and inspire people.
Ashley couldn't help but feel a bit scared.
She had narrowly beaten Sean before, thanks to KM.
If she had seen this scene before going to court with Sean, she couldn't guarantee she would have had the same confidence.
Hannah raised a colorful light board and shouted, "Sean! I love you! Sean, I love you!"
Her voice was loud, but it couldn't compete with the thousands of people shouting in unison. So her cries of "love you, support you, like you" were drowned in the waves of sound.
This was tough for Ashley, surrounded by crazy female fans, each louder than the other.
If winning a case was as easy as shouting, they would be invincible.
Soon, a large group of girls rushed up with flowers, asking for photos and autographs, causing a brief chaos that security quickly controlled.
Sean nodded politely to the teachers and students below. Facing the camera, he was calm and composed, without a hint of arrogance despite the flowers and applause.
Hannah's eyes sparkled, almost drooling, "This is true elegance and grace!"
A girl next to her scoffed, "Everyone knows Sean's name is an adjective!"
Ashley leaned back in her chair, giving the two fans with girlish fantasies space to chat.
Hannah was convinced with just one sentence, nodding repeatedly, "Ashley, I think she's right."
Ashley fell silent.
