Chapter 450 Very Bad
The other party hesitated but didn't dare to hide the truth, "It doesn't seem good. The other party realized they were being tracked, so they've been on the run constantly. They probably aren't getting comprehensive medical care."
This was exactly what Damian was worried about. He rubbed his long fingers against his brow and said, "Keep an eye on them, but don't interfere. We'll talk about everything once her health recovers."
"Yes, Mr. Hearst!"
After putting down the phone, Damian propped his arm on the windowsill, his deep gaze overlooking the scenery outside, his face shrouded in deep gloom.
When it came to Selene, his feelings were more complicated than ever.
Closing his eyes to adjust his emotions slightly, Damian walked out of the office.
As soon as he stepped out, he saw Ashley looking down at her phone. Whatever she was chatting about seemed to make her happy, as she had a smile on her face, her figure sinking into the couch, making the area around her seem particularly bright and lively.
Ashley was messaging Amelia, telling her about Irvin.
As expected, Amelia said that Irvin had offended Christian on his first day on set and was then kicked out of the crew.
Ashley asked, "How did he offend him? They already started filming, and they still kicked him out?"
Amelia replied, "That unlucky guy Irvin has no emotional intelligence and can't talk properly. Christian asked him to get coffee, and he said he was an actor, not an errand boy. He acted all high and mighty, but when he got kicked out, he almost knelt down to apologize to Christian. Honestly, Christian is such a jerk, ruining someone's career over a small matter."
Ashley responded, "I met him. There's some personal grudge. From what you said, it seems like he's not cut out for the entertainment industry."
Amelia replied, "He has no sense of the situation, which is the biggest problem. I have to go now; I have a scene to shoot."
Amelia went to film, and the conversation ended.
Ashley switched to Harold's chat window, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then got a scolding from Harold.
This guy, always scolding with the same few lines, never changing it up.
Finally, Ashley asked him, "Do you know anyone in the entertainment industry, like directors?"
Harold immediately jumped, "You're not planning to quit being a lawyer and follow Amelia into acting, are you? With your temper, you can't be an actor. Don't go polluting the entertainment industry."
Before Ashley could reply, she felt a tall shadow looming over her. She slowly looked up and saw a cold face backlit by the light, "Mr. Hearst?"
"So happy?" His deep voice was particularly pleasant.
Ashley put down her phone and looked up, "It's rare to come to Mr. Hearst's office again and admire Mr. Hearst's strategic prowess. How can I not be happy?"
Damian bent down, pinched her ear, and rubbed the soft flesh of her earlobe with his long fingers, "You'll be even happier in a bit."
Someone knocked on the door outside.
Ashley reminded, "Mr. Hearst, your subordinate is here to report."
Damian said unhurriedly, "Come in."
Seeing that it was Dante, Ashley forced a smile.
Dante, who had seen many big scenes, was not surprised to see her. He nodded and said, "Hello, Ms. Astor."
"Hello, Mr. Moretti."
After a brief greeting, Dante began to report.
Damian leaned back in his chair, his expression serious. His mood directly affected the pressure in the room; a single frown made others feel suffocated.
In short, the first thing he reported was that the lawsuit against Infinity Enterprises Group would go to trial next week.
The second thing was that Emperial Avenue Group was involved in commercial fraud, and the project KM had recently transferred to Edward had been completely halted due to funding issues. The necessary metal materials for the project couldn't find a supplier. Emperial Avenue Group was trying to find a solution, but if they couldn't resolve it within a week, they might have to sell at a low price.
Dante asked, "Mr. Hearst, how do you want to handle Emperial Avenue Group?"
Ashley suddenly realized!
Damian had absorbed all of Emperial Avenue Group's shares in the Eirondia project, compensating with a domestic project. Then, Emperial Avenue Group was hit with a scandal, and the project materials ran out.
Wasn't this a series of calculated moves?
Damian was really cunning.
And the Damian she was silently cursing was as cold as a crown prince, saying indifferently, "Ms. Astor, do you have any suggestions?"
Suddenly dragged into the spotlight, Ashley's mind went blank for a moment before she said, "Does KM want to take back the project it gave away?"
Damian replied matter-of-factly, "I don't have a habit of giving away my things."
Ashley quickly glanced at Dante. Since they were familiar, and Dante knew all about her and Damian's relationship, she said, "Since it's come to this, send someone to negotiate with Emperial Avenue Group. State our demands directly and force them to split the profits."
Dante looked at Damian, "What do you think, Mr. Hearst?"
Damian said lightly, "Who should we send?"
He was asking Ashley.
"This is an internal matter of KM. As an outsider, it's not appropriate for me to get involved."
That look, could it be that he wanted her to go??
Was he using her as a scapegoat? If she went to see Edward, could she come back alive?
Damian said, "You pick someone to go and say it's my idea."
After Dante left, Ashley stood up abruptly, "Mr. Hearst, are you setting me up?"
Damian, with a stern face and a slight curve at the end of his long eyes, said, "I'm giving you the privilege to show your power. Instead of thanking me, you're blaming me?"
Ashley calmed down, her eyes half-squinting, "You want me to find Victor?"
Damian just smiled, which slight curve revealing calculation and cunning.
Cunning and deceitful, those words fit Damian perfectly.
Ashley was worried. As an outsider, how could she talk to Victor?
Damian went to a meeting, hinting before he left, "The office is yours. Also, there's some information on the computer. Take a look."
After reading the information, Ashley's palms unknowingly broke out in a cold sweat.
Fuck, Damian was really bad!
Ashley thought for a moment and had Nancy contact Victor.
He came quickly. When he saw only Ashley, he was momentarily stunned, then naturally smiled, "It seems Damian has special feelings for you. His office, not to mention leaving it to someone alone, usually requires his special permission to enter."
Ashley stood up, smiling, and gestured, "Please sit. What would you like to drink? Coffee? Tea?"
Victor sat on the couch in the reception area, facing Ashley, "You didn't call me here just to have tea."
People from the Hearst family aren't fools; they catch on quickly. Ashley liked this about them. She poured Victor a cup of coffee, "You're so busy, I wouldn't dare waste your time with small talk."
Victor observed her without showing any emotion, trying to see her true intentions, "After all, we're family. No need to be so formal. Even though you've left the Hearst family, you'll always be the best sister-in-law in my heart and Damian's lifelong match."
Ashley laughed inwardly. Victor really knew how to warm and touch people's hearts with his words!
"Since you consider me family, I'll speak frankly. What do you think about the series of incidents with Emperial Avenue Group?"
Victor couldn't help but clench his fists, a faint anger gathering between his brows, "Damian must really trust you to share company secrets."
Ashley smiled obediently, "After all, I used to be Mr. Hearst's lawyer, so I naturally know a bit more. But there's one thing I don't quite understand. I heard you're close to Edward. Why didn't you help him when he got into trouble?"
