Chapter 398 Yes, It Has to Be Her

Ashley believed that if Amelia set her mind to something, she would definitely get it done. But since her opponent was Christian, she needed to be cautious. "If you need my help, just say so. Don't be polite with me."

Amelia thought for a moment. "Alright, help me buy some things."

After hearing what Amelia needed, Ashley burst out laughing. "That's pretty harsh! You must be really mad."

Mad? She was practically a volcano erupting.

"I'm not like you. You have feelings for Damian, so even if you're angry, you can't be too harsh. But with a jerk like Christian, being soft-hearted is self-destructive. As for morality, he doesn't even deserve to hear human words. Do you think that kind of thing can be used on him?"

Ashley gave her a thumbs-up with both hands. "Good job, go all out on him! But a friendly reminder, make sure to clean up any evidence of the crime. Don't let him catch any dirt on you."

"Of course. By the way, what's Damian's deal with you now? Didn't you lose the lawsuit against his company last time? You have a big heart to still be nice to him after that."

Ashley pouted. "Do you see me being nice to him?"

Amelia thought about it. It seemed like her attitude towards Damian had indeed changed. Before, her eyes would light up like a hungry wolf whenever she saw him. Now, she was cold and distant, very restrained. Not bad, not bad.

"Ashley, keep it up. Don't be swayed by his looks!"

Ashley tugged at the corner of her mouth, unable to smile. "Sorry, I'm aesthetically fatigued. I can't tell what's attractive anymore; I only see money."

"You're really good at pretending."

Damian came out after changing his bandages and directly opened Ashley's car door. The conversation inside abruptly stopped, and he didn't hear a word.

Ashley thought he was going to ride in Christian's car and was a bit surprised to see him. "Mr. Hearst, is there something you need?"

She asked politely, as if they were mere acquaintances.

Christian shouted from behind, "Hey, can't you ride in my car?"

Damian got into the passenger seat and fastened his seatbelt smoothly. "Not on the way."

Christian leaned against the car door. "Do you even know where I'm going to say it's not on the way?"

Damian closed the car door. "Wherever it is, it's not on the way."

Christian was speechless.

As soon as Damian got in the car, Amelia shrank back to reduce her presence and tried not to speak.

Why did it feel like he brought an army with him?

Damian organized some documents and put them in Ashley's bag, then turned to look at Amelia. "How's your foot?"

Amelia stared at the back of Damian's head, quietly pondering how to resolve Ashley's issues. Damian must have many flaws; she just hadn't found them yet.

Or maybe she could think of a way to make Damian leave Ashley on his own?

Hearing Damian's voice suddenly, Amelia shivered and then said with a straight face, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Hearst. I'm fine."

Damian didn't mind her cold attitude. "How long have you been in Limehof?"

Amelia was a bit confused.

Wait a minute, was Damian chatting with her? Did she hear that right?

Ashley didn't know what Damian meant either. Was he testing the waters? Checking Amelia's attitude for Christian?

She answered for Amelia, "She came with the crew, has been here for over half a month."

Damian said, "Your director is Garry?"

Amelia found it strange. How did they all know so much about a TV show that meant nothing to them?

"Mr. Hearst, do you know him?"

Damian's tone was casual and relaxed, but his presence was still intimidating. "The advertising department had him shoot a few commercials, but I've never met him in person."

Damian wouldn't personally handle such matters; his subordinates arranged everything, and he just signed off.

So, even though he had seen a couple of Garry's films, he hadn't spoken to him personally.

Amelia responded with an "oh" and ended the conversation.

But Damian continued, "Garry usually only shoots widescreen films. Why is he doing a TV show now?"

Amelia wanted to say, "How should I know? Maybe the money was right." But she only dared to think it, not say it out loud. "Not sure, maybe the money was good."

She didn't really believe that reason.

Damian asked, "Are you the third female lead?"

Amelia's mouth twitched. Was he here to mock her?

"Yes, the third female lead with not much screen time, and a villain at that. Satisfied?"

Damian didn't comment further and turned to Ashley. "Back to the hotel?"

Ashley wanted to ask why he was talking so much. He was so reserved at Sven's house, but now he was a different person?

"Mr. Hearst, aren't you going back? Do you have other plans?"

"No, I'm with you guys."

Ashley was shocked.

She was increasingly suspicious that this was a fake Damian.

Christian's car was right behind Ashley's, and unsurprisingly, they arrived at the hotel one after the other.

Not on the way?

Nowhere is on the way?

Damn it, what kind of person is this!

Christian deliberately got out of the car first and waited at the door with his arms crossed, sneering. "What a coincidence, we meet again."

Damian had already seen Christian's car following them from the rearview mirror. "Are you very free?"

Christian said, "Yeah, I'm on vacation, of course I'm free."

Damian replied, "I'm busy."

"Busy with what? You seem busier than me."

Damian said, "Looking for someone."

"What kind of person requires you to personally look for them? Didn't the doctor tell you today? If you don't rest your arm, it might suffer permanent damage."

"The person I'm looking for, haven't you seen?"

Christian realized he was being led by Damian, foolishly listening to his nonsense.

This guy, wasn't he talking about Ashley?

"What are you thinking? Didn't you see her attitude? She doesn't want to see you or talk to you. Has she given you a good face? I'm really puzzled, with so many women out there, why are you fixated on her?"

If this continued, Christian would definitely say, "Are you that cheap?"

Damian looked at the car heading to the parking lot. "Yes, only her."

Christian clenched his fists in frustration. "You're really... really unreasonable!"

Ashley went to park the car and didn't hear their conversation, but she noticed that Christian's gaze towards her was increasingly unfriendly.

To help Amelia buy things, Ashley returned to the hotel half an hour later.

She was startled when she entered. "Amelia?"

Amelia was wearing a long black wig, makeup that made her look unlike herself, and a tight dress that accentuated her curves. Only the slippers on her feet still bore her usual look.

Amelia flipped her hair, her deep red nails running through it seductively. "Do I look good?"

"Good, so good I'm drooling," Ashley handed her the items. "Are you sure he won't recognize you?"

Amelia giggled. "It's not my first time. I have some experience."

To give the eager women in the crew a hint, Amelia had "accidentally" posted Christian's hotel location in the work group and then retracted it a minute later.

She believed everyone had seen it.

Next up was Christian's moment of glory.

She wanted to see how many women this trash could enjoy in one night.

Ashley wasn't comfortable leaving her alone, especially since her foot was injured and she couldn't run if discovered. She thought of a plan and grinned mischievously. "I'll gear up too, and we'll team up to get back at him!"
