Chapter 527 Kicking Him While They're Together

At that time, leaving a fake paternity test was to deceive those who kidnapped and extorted Dorian.

She didn't intend for Damian to misunderstand. The things she said to Dorian and Blair about using Damian's power for protection were just to reassure them.

But she didn't want Damian to misunderstand Natalia's identity.

Now...

Ashley held her forehead, feeling a bit regretful.

Natalia, as usual, obediently drank her medicine, but today her little face was noticeably scrunched up.

Ashley unwrapped a candy and placed it in her hand, "Eat the candy, and it won't be bitter. Natalia is the best!"

The candies Damian prepared for her came in various flavors and were shaped like little animals, very cute.

So much so that Ashley found it hard to associate the two.

"Natalia, eat Mont Blanc! It's very sweet!"

Jasper held a plate of pastries and picked one up, placing it in Natalia's hand.

Ashley was surprised, "Where did the Mont Blanc come from? Did Cloud ManHearston send it?"

Jasper didn't think much and straightforwardly said, "Jessica made it a few days ago. It's delicious. I couldn't bear to finish it, so I saved some for Natalia."

Jessica made it? With her non-cooking demeanor, she must have cooked especially for Damian, right?

Ashley raised an eyebrow and glanced at Damian, who was reading a book.

Jasper thought she was being picky and quickly exaggeratedly explained, "It's not spoiled. I kept it in the fridge. I tried it, and it's still very tasty!"

Ashley rubbed Natalia's head. "Do you want to eat it?"

Natalia was very perceptive. Her mouth was bitter, and she wanted something sweet, but Ashley seemed unhappy, so she decisively shook her head. "Jasper, I don't like chestnuts. Can I have an apple instead?"

Jasper felt a bit defeated. He had saved it especially, but being a simple-minded boy, he quickly brought a washed apple and placed it in Natalia's hand. "Apples are also very sweet and crunchy."

Natalia took a big bite and smiled with dimples, "It's really good. Thank you, Jasper!"

Natalia's words were sweeter than the apple, making Jasper blush.

Damian watched the scene in the living room, a slight smile forming at the corner of his mouth.

Ashley seemed to dislike Jessica. Did that mean she still cared about him?

Did that mean she was jealous?

"Jasper, I have something to do tonight and need to go out. Can you play with Natalia? I'll be back as soon as possible."

Jasper was especially happy and eagerly nodded, "Sure! Natalia is very well-behaved and not troublesome at all. Ashley, you can go ahead and take care of your business. It's okay if you're a bit late."

Natalia, understanding, nodded while holding her apple, "Auntie, remember to wear a pretty dress!"

Ashley kissed her little face. "Okay, I'll dress up beautifully."

Damian frowned. Who was she going to see? And she needed to dress up?

He was in a bad mood.

Ashley didn't dress up specially. She changed into warmer clothes and drove out.

What she didn't notice was a pair of eyes glaring at her from a car lurking in the dark!

Jessica put down her phone, gripping the steering wheel tightly.

Ashley! It's Ashley!

Seven o'clock.

Ashley arrived at the restaurant.

Upon entering, she heard the melodious accompaniment of a violin, the romantic music creating a beautiful atmosphere.

The main lights of the restaurant were off, leaving only the dim effect lights shining on the candlelight, resembling a proposal scene from a movie.

Ashley cautiously looked around and found that the large restaurant had only Chad sitting there.

Chad, seeing her, elegantly stood up and pulled out the chair opposite him, his thin lips smiling, "Please, have a seat."

Ashley felt very uneasy, "Mr. Wilson, it's just a meal. There's no need to go to such lengths."

Chad returned to his seat, looking at her through the flickering candlelight, his eyes ambiguous, "Having a meal with you is worth any expense."

Ashley leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms, "You lost the lawsuit and have to pay so much compensation. Doesn't your boss hold you accountable and dock your bonus? You seem to be in a good mood, not at all like someone who has been defeated."

Chad shrugged, "Before seeing you, I almost cried. After seeing you, those things don't matter anymore."

Ashley raised an eyebrow, "Mr. Wilson, what is it about me that you want to use? Just say it, don't play riddles."

Chad smiled, "Do you doubt my pure admiration for you?"

"Doubt."

Chad rubbed his nose, helplessly said, "You're very smart. Why don't you guess?"

Ashley scrutinized Chad, trying to find cracks in his rather good-looking face, looking for some signals, "Is your boss an enemy of Damian?"

Chad smiled, "Keep guessing."

Ashley said, "I think so. You approached me to strike back at Damian."

Chad took a sip of his wine, smiling without speaking.

Damn, this kind of person is too good at pretending. Ashley straightforwardly said, "If you want to use me to get back at Damian, this approach can only be described as low-level, childish, and shameless. As a man, if you want revenge, you should face it head-on, not hide in the shadows plotting, like a rat digging a hole, even more disgusting."

Chad calmly listened, not getting angry, but clapped his hands and laughed, "Brilliant, bold! This is the first time I've heard a woman scold my boss like this. I'll relay it to him word for word."

Ashley said, "Also, tell him that if he's afraid of Damian, he shouldn't try to challenge him. Otherwise, it will be you who dies."

From Chad's response, Ashley at least confirmed one thing: the boss of Volcano and Damian had a personal grudge, and it was deep-seated.

Chad frowned, "Afraid of him? Are you serious?"

"If you're not afraid, why don't you dare to confront him directly, only resorting to dirty tricks like explosions?"

Chad's fingers slid over his lips. "Ms. Astor, what's your relationship with Damian? Why are you speaking for him?"

"Playing dumb? You already know my relationship with him."

Chad laughed heartily, leaning back and forth, and after laughing, he propped himself on the table, looking deeply at her, "He dumped you, abandoned you and the child! To be precise, he never loved you, used you and then discarded you like an old shoe. So, you should stand on my side, let me help you vent your anger. When we defeat Damian, you and I can be together and give him a kick. Doesn't that sound satisfying and relieving?"

Chad finally showed his true colors.

Ashley smiled, "Really?"

"Of course! You get your revenge, my boss gets his, and we join forces, killing two birds with one stone!"

Ashley said, "Aren't you afraid I'll tell him your secrets?"

Chad said recklessly, "If I were afraid, I wouldn't be sitting here."

Ashley took out her phone and dialed, "Mr. Hearst, it's me. I have some news..."

Before she could finish, Chad suddenly snatched her phone, smiling broadly, "I don't want to hear his name from your mouth. I'm jealous."

Ashley twirled her hair with her fingers. "You should give up early. It was just a bluff, and it scared you like this."

Chad turned the phone around and found it was a Google page.

His mouth twitched for a second, then he smiled again, "Ashley, you're such an interesting woman. If I can't win you over, I'll regret it for life!"

Ashley grabbed her bag and was about to leave. "Before you die, find someone to cover your eyes, so you can die in peace."

"Wait!"

Chad grabbed her wrist, forcibly pulling Ashley into his arms. The movement wasn't too big, but the force was strong, easily locking her shoulders. "I haven't agreed yet. Where do you think you're going?"
