Chapter 376 Strict Investigation, Thorough Investigation

KM Tower, President's Office.

After finishing the call, Thomas stood straight across the large desk and respectfully said, "Mr. Hearst, it's confirmed. The hospital has made all the arrangements. The latest batch of medical equipment will arrive from abroad in two weeks. Also, the director hopes to find an opportunity to meet the charitable donor."

Damian nodded in satisfaction at the first part of the response and said indifferently to the latter part, "Tell them it's not necessary."

Thomas understood Damian's habits. He wouldn't walk among the crowd to showcase a good deed, nor would he personally meet a local hospital director. "Yes, and what about Mrs. Hearst? She should be informed as well."

Damian glanced at his silent private phone. She would soon know, but whether she would contact him was uncertain.

"That's not your concern."

Thomas quickly lowered his head to apologize, "Sorry, Mr. Hearst."

Damian closed the file in his hand and changed the subject, "I'll personally visit the Limehof project in the next couple of days."

Thomas nodded, "Yes, which day would you like to go? And what mode of transportation?"

Damian didn't actually need to inspect this project personally. Trusted people were overseeing it, and the data provided to him was very detailed. He just wanted to go to Limehof to relax and spend a quiet day by the sea.

"No need to inform anyone else. I'll drive myself."

Thomas was worried, "Mr. Hearst, although not many people know your identity, there are still some eyes watching you. Driving alone, your safety can't be guaranteed. Plus, it takes several hours to drive to Limehof. It would be too exhausting for you. How about I drive?"

Damian refused, "Victor and Edward are plotting something together, and they'll act in the next few days. You stay and keep an eye on them, especially Victor's every move. Report to me."

Given the task, Thomas didn't dare insist further and had to adjust Damian's schedule to free up enough time.

After a busy morning, finishing the third meeting at 11:45, Damian picked up his phone, still waiting for Ashley's call.

It seemed she was completely disappointed.

Long fingers pressed against his brow, a sense of unprecedented disappointment swirling in his heart.

For the first time, Damian wondered if his invincible methods were wrong.

Moments later, he called Dante up.

"Mr. Hearst, what can I do for you?"

Damian asked, "Are the illnesses of the three patients from Infinity Enterprises Group related to Quantum Innovations Tech?"

Dante didn't speculate on Damian's intentions. Still, he cautiously replied, "Based on the evidence I've gathered, it can't be ruled out, but Quantum Innovations Tech's products do not directly cause it. The evidence I provided during the trial was all true. The techniques might have been a bit unscrupulous, but the sources were genuine and reliable."

"Tell me the truth."

Faced with Damian's insistence, Dante was very surprised. Damian always wanted results, not the process. This time, he did the same initially, so why was he asking after winning the case?

But considering the opposing lawyer was Damian's ex-wife, it made sense.

"Mr. Hearst, to be honest, our goal from the start was to win. So, all the evidence collection and intentions were aimed at benefiting us. The evidence we saw all proved my point was correct."

"Was the test report tampered with?"

Dante hesitated, "It shouldn't have been."

"Shouldn't?"

Dante quickly lowered his head and explained honestly, "The expert team knew Quantum Innovations Tech was a KM subsidiary. As soon as they entered, they asked me what Mr. Hearst wanted. I said Quantum Innovations Tech must win."

Damian remained expressionless.

These subordinates were very good at guessing their leader's intentions. Often, without explicit instructions, a small hint was enough for them to make decisions that pleased the leader.

"Get someone to re-evaluate. Go through all of Quantum Innovations Tech's inventory."

Dante didn't dare disobey, but Quantum Innovations Tech's annual sales could fill ten warehouses, not to mention the products that were sold. Checking everything would be a massive, time-consuming, labor-intensive, and costly task.

"Mr. Hearst, Quantum Innovations Tech has already won the case. Is this really necessary?"

Damian gave him a look, "Do as I say."

Dante immediately bowed and didn't dare say another word, "Yes, sir!"

After a day of hesitation, Ashley still didn't dare to call Damian.

Forget it, let's end it like this.

Feeling frustrated, Ashley sent a message to Amelia: [I'll visit you tomorrow.]

Amelia was touching up her makeup and replied quickly: [Sure, what time will you arrive? I'll pick you up at the airport.]

Ashley: [I'll drive over.]

Amelia: [Are you crazy? It takes at least four to five hours to drive from Rochester City to Limehof. Your back will be killing you!]

Ashley: [I need some time to clear my head on the highway. Don't worry, I'll be able to arrive safely. By the way, I bought a new car. I'll take you for a spin.]

Amelia: [Drive safely. I don't have any scenes tomorrow night, so I'll keep you company.]

Ashley: [Wait for me, darling.]

After chatting with Amelia, Ashley felt a bit better.

"Ms. Astor, care for a drink?" The one inviting her for a drink was Lynn, who had just announced her resignation today.

Ashley said, "If you have something to say, let's talk at the office. I don't drink."

Lynn didn't feel awkward about being rejected. Instead, she gracefully agreed, "Alright."

Sitting in Ashley's office, Lynn said without hesitation, "I've always envied you for having your own office on your first day at the law firm. Everyone saw how much Mr. Brin favored you."

Ashley said, "You're quite straightforward."

Lynn sneered, "I came from a small town, clawing my way up. Yes, I'm the kind of person many look down on. I studied hard, fought my way through, and finally made it to the city. But the legal industry didn't give me a bright future. Fortunately, hard work pays off, and I finally..."

Ashley crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair, looking at her indifferently. Those eyes were so sincere. If she didn't already know what kind of person Lynn was, she might have been fooled. "Why are you telling me all this? Are we that close?"

Lynn hated Ashley's condescending look. They were both lawyers at the same level, yet Ashley always seemed superior. "Interfering in someone else's relationship and still being so righteous? Don't you feel any guilt?"

"Guilt? Should I remind you of your colorful love life over the past few years? You used to work at a law firm in another city. To get cases and climb the ranks, you got involved with a married boss and flaunted it everywhere. In the end, his wealthy wife came to confront you. Your boss didn't dare to divorce, so he slapped you and told you to get lost. You couldn't stay there anymore and came to Rochester City. You were lucky to meet Hendrix. Your pitiful act caught his attention, and you wanted to use him to establish yourself. But you were just his plaything. When he got bored, he dumped you. How is that my problem?"
