Chapter 100

Seoul, Korea
NuStarr Talent Management Headquarters

Chairman Hu gave his son a look as the young woman with him read through the contract he had the legal team draft for the new President of Myo Mi-Sun’s Fan Club.

Hiring a security team to guard his niece was one thing, but it was turning into so much more.

Myo Mi-Sun was now the exclusive Korean face of one of the most highly sought after French designers. Employment was being offered to a young woman to take over the fan club for Dae-Ho. His son threatened, according to Manager Jang Min, Hwang Sang-Hee with career ending allegations and video. A members of the security team assaulted Hwang Sang-Hee in the reception area for the red carpet that Myo Mi-Sun stole from her ex-fiancé and his now ex-girlfriend…

Things were getting complicated and spiraling out of control, but from what Hu Jae had learned, his niece was flourishing and growing while in the care of her security team.

Hu Jae was conflicted about that.

But the proof that it was a positive was sitting in his desk drawer.

“That can’t be right,” Pan Jin said, her eyes wide, looking up at Hu Jae. “Forty million won a year?!”

Hu Jae nodded. “Yes. That is mid-grade pay for a personal assistant at the firm, and you’ll be reporting directly to Dae-Ho. Once you are out of school, you’ll get a bump in pay to match the additional hours you’ll be putting in for the fan club. Is that a problem?”

Pan Jin shook her head. “It’s just… Thank you so much,” she said, signing the contract and non-disclosure agreement then bowed more than once. “This is so unexpected and I can never thank you and you,” she said, looking to Dae-Ho, “for this opportunity. I won’t let you down!” she promised, bowing again.

Dae-Ho opened the door then motioned someone over. “Will you show the new President of the Myo Mi-Sun fan club to her desk and help her figure out what needs ordered? I haven’t replaced any of the signed pictures, stationary, cards… I’ve done nothing in nearly two years. Okay?”

The woman nodded then motioned for Pan Jin to follow her.

Once the door closed behind them, Dae-Ho flopped down on the couch and waited for his father’s fury.

“Do I even want to know what happened at the premier that caused Jang Min to blow up my phone first thing this morning?” Hu Jae asked.

“He hit her,” Dae-Ho said.

“Who hit who?”

“Hwang Sang-Hee hit Rain,” Dae-Ho said, speaking quietly. “And that is why I threatened to destroy his career. His annoying manager knew the truth-”

“Did you?” he demanded.

Dae-Ho quickly shook his head. “No. I did not until our resident hacker found the pictures on Jang Min’s laptop and plastered them across all ten screens at the reception. Cousin didn’t tell me, she didn’t want to cause problems.”

Hu Jae’s jaw clenched and his hands balled into fists.

“Calm down, Dad, otherwise you’re going to have another heart attack,” Dae-Ho scolded. “This is why Cousin didn’t tell us. You want to bring war against Jang Min and her entire roster of clients now. I get it. I want to as well. But what Jang Min neglected to mention is that I have a video of her star client drunk and naked while on set, and let’s just say it’ll ruin him and make Small Wang-Hee a joke in Korea and beyond. I have a lovely collection of blackmail material just waiting to see the light of day on some of the biggest names in the industry. If they, if anyone, touches my cousin again or makes her a scapegoat for their own gain, I will bring this industry to ruin.”
