Chapter 89
Seoul, Korea
Twilight Theater
The theater’s security team had moved the gossamer panels to prevent the photographers from getting any headline worthy photos of Gang Moon and Myo Mi-Sun. They then moved the panels to prevent Gang Moon or Gok Soo from following Myo Mi-Sun and her security detail as they left the red carpet.
Theater Security had an area cleared and secured for them because guests were already in the reception area. To allow for privacy, the moveable gossamer panels were redirected to lead towards a service hallway where Myo Mi-Sun could collect herself and touch base with her security team.
The theater’s security truly were Myo Mi-Sun fans.
When they started to head to the reception area, Rain stopped, causing the others in their party to regard her.
“Can I have a moment?” Rain sheepishly asked, looking towards the restroom.
Kita nodded and motioned for her to stay before he ducked inside the ladies restroom to make sure it was clear.
“You really do weird things to him,” Lucien commented.
“I don’t mean to,” she groaned, making a face.
“I know. And he knows it as well,” Lucien assured her.
Rain blushed. “Where is Lula and Will?” she asked, looking around.
“Will is having an anxiety attack and Lula is talking him down, so I am going to do a round with Dae-Ho to get an idea of the threat level. They ducked into the men’s restroom as soon as they cleared the carpet. He took your pills by the way when you were not looking, and that might cause him to take off all of his clothes, again.”
Rain’s eyes widened and she looked in her clutch; her bottle of anti-anxiety pills were missing. “What a sneaky brat. When did he do that?”
Lucien shrugged.
Dae-Ho took her face between his hands. “It doesn’t matter when Will pickpocketed you, or if he runs out of the bathroom naked. You were amazing on the carpet, Cousin. Absolutely amazing. It was as if I was watching a true Bond villain out there! You gave them just enough that they can run with whatever story you want. It was beautiful. I seriously got chills.”
“It felt really good,” she admitted. “They’ll be so mad when they learn the world already saw my new look!” she said before giggling.
Dae-Ho laughed, sounding like a cartoon villain. “You and Will’s TikTok transformation video has already reached a half-million views in less than an hour! That has to be a new record,” he informed her, showing Rain his phone.
Lucien gave them a look. “What did you two do?”
He smirked, looking evil and up to no good. “Cousin hates that reporters and photographer profit off of pictures of her. So, we release to the public, for free, whatever we can before they can make a profit off of her. The videos we took of Will and her before we got our hair done then again before we left, it was for a TikTok transformation video or ten that I released on the drive here.”
Lucien chuckled. “You two are devious.”
“No, they’re smart,” Kita said, joining them. “Controlling her image and preventing those that harass her relentlessly from profiting from it is genius. The restroom is clear.”
Rain nodded. “Stay out of trouble, don’t leave the protection of Lucien, and we’ll head out as soon as possible,” she told Dae-Ho, looking around. “I feel exceptionally exposed in my outfit, regardless of how villain like I was on the carpet. Myo Mi-Sun doesn’t have the backbone that villain Seon Rain does.”
Lucien chuckled. “Oh, you will be fine with your bodyguard nearby,” he promised, giving his brother a look. “We just might have to deal with a body or two if you are not careful.”
Her eyes widened before she giggled.
“No killing anyone tonight,” she scolded.
Kita gave her a look, the look that conveyed he heard her but wouldn’t entertain her request. “Restroom is clear,” he said again.
Rain hurried to the bathroom and pushed through the door. She needed to compose herself and make sure her top was still secured and tight.
