Chapter 95
Seoul, Korea
Twilight Theater
Entertainment Reporter Tan Mi-Hi stood with a microphone in hand while her cameraman stood back, shooting video.
The rest of the reporters were turned away and told to leave by security.
That wasn’t entirely normal for events like this, and Gang Moon had a sneaking suspicion it was ordered by Myo Mi-Sun’s security team, so he was going to wait on the carpet for her to leave.
She always left premiers less than an hour after arriving, even for her own movies she did. Myo Mi-Sun didn’t enjoy these types of events, so Gang Moon made sure that he’d get a chance to talk to her before she ran away like she always did.
Tan Mi-Hi was a nice looking woman and she always maintained a neutral position on scandals, rumors, and her stories mirrored her golden reputation of neutrality. Because of that, Gang Moon specifically invited her to the red carpet for an exclusive. He had been trying to fill as much dead airtime as possible by shamelessly flirting with the woman, which she more than welcomed to his surprise, but it was about time Myo Mi-Sun made a run for it and that’s when she’d have to talk to him.
If they were on camera, Myo Mi-Sun couldn’t get away from him so easily and would be forced to talk to him.
“Was it awkward being upstaged by your ex at your own premier?” Tan Mi-Hi asked pointblank.
Gang Moon wasn’t entirely prepared for that question.
“Myo Mi-Sun would never purposely upstage anyone,” Gang Moon reminded the reporter. “Especially at someone else’s premier. That isn’t how she is, and never will be. Myo Mi-Sun is the most kindhearted person in the industry. Though, her arrival was rather theatrical,” he admitted with a chuckled.
That was putting it mildly.
Gang Moon was completely blindsided by his ex’s entrance, and he was rather impressed by just how vindictive it was.
“Am I hearing regret in your tone?” Tan Mi-Hi asked with a smirk.
Gang Moon smiled. “A man that truly loves a woman would forever regret losing her, even if it was he that was the foolish one and lost her,” he said, dabbing the corner of his eye as it to wipe away a forming tear. “Do I regret my actions and being so foolish that it lost me the most beautiful woman to grace nearly every red carpet in Korea for nearly the past decade? Yes. A day doesn’t go by when I’m not plagued by what-ifs, but that is my purgatory to reside in, not hers.”
The reporter nodded her understanding.
“Yes, it appears Myo Mi-Sun moved on nicely, and upgraded,” Tan Mi-Hi said, getting a cocked eyebrow in return over the comment. “Well done for her.”
“That is merely one single woman’s opinion,” he reminded her.
“After tonight it will be the opinion of the Nation, married or single wouldn’t matter. What ended your relationship?” she pressed. “Rumor is you found love, or fell into bed, with a costar, the very same leading lady you shared the red carpet with tonight. Is that true?”
Gang Moon looked away from her, as if trying to find the words; he may not have been a great leading man, but he had been practicing in the mirror for this interview for weeks.
Though, it wasn’t exactly going to plan.
“Rumors are just that,” he reminded her. “Sometimes they are partial truths and other times they are nothing more than the byproduct of an overly active imagination. Did I recklessly fall irresponsibly for someone I worked with? Yes. Gok Soo is a beautiful girl, and in time she’ll have a career that spans multiple titles and all types of screens, big and small. And I’m only human, a man that was a fool and didn’t listen to his heart when he should have-”
“So the rumors are true,” Tan Mi-Hi interrupted, tired of the well-rehearsed spiel he was giving her.
Gang Moon merely sighed and nodded once.
Tan Mi-Hi scrolled through her phone and the list of questions it contained. “That did not reap the reward you were longing for it to, did it?” she mused, stealing his attention.
“Huh?” he asked.
“It would not be reaching to say that the entire reason why you and the Production House strong-armed Myo Mi-Sun into coming to your premier tonight was to stir up drama and scandal to distract the public from the dumpster fire which is you and Gok Soo’s movie,” she pointblank said.
