Chapter 96
Seoul, Korea
Twilight Theater
“Wait, what?” Gang Moon stammered.
That was beyond blunt, especially for this reporter.
“Did you honestly believe that the public would turn their backs on Korea’s sweetheart in order to support a lackluster and rather abysmal career that you and Gok Soo are destined to have?” Tan Mi-Hi asked, holding the microphone in his face.
The cameraman zoomed in on Gang Moon and the dumbstruck expression on his face, a smirk pulling at the corners of the cameraman’s mouth; he was a Myo Mi-Sun fan.
“That man escorting Myo Mi-Sun tonight, do you know who he is?” Tan Mi-Hi rhetorically asked; they both knew that Gang Moon hadn’t a clue who the unfamiliar man was. “That is William Lee, the world’s youngest billionaire,” she amusingly informed him, and Gang Moon’s eyes widened. “Even if they are just friends, she will forever be able to do better, and she deserves better than some manipulative, D-List actor.”
The phone in Tan Mi-Hi’s hand beeped, causing her to smile. She pulled a travel umbrella from her jacket pocket and stepped back away from Gang Moon before she opened it moments before the fire suppression system kicked on.
Gang Moon looked around, confused, as those lingering ran for cover from the water showering the area from the sprinkler system.
The reporter and cameraman continued to stand there, under her umbrella, filming him.
“What in the hell is going on?” Gang Moon demanded, pushing his wet hair back from his eyes.
Tan Mi-Hi chuckled, darkly, stealing his attention. “You don’t get it, do you?” she rhetorically asked, looking from him to over his shoulder to the bodyguards heading down the carpet under the protection of umbrellas.
Gang Moon looked to see what captured her attention and his eyes widened as Myo Mi-Sun confidently strolled down the drenched carpet, one hand in her pocket, the other holding onto the clutch at her side. William Lee walked with a bodyguard, holding an umbrella for him and the tall woman with him, and Dae-Ho walked with another bodyguard, his arm looped through the guard’s under the umbrella.
There was no denying the presence Myo Mi-Sun had, the strength and fearlessness she now possessed, and Gang Moon liked it. He liked this new side of the timid actress, and he wanted to play with it and utilize it to better his career.
Gang Moon went to reach out to grab her arm as she started to pass, but he never got the chance.
The tall bodyguard with the strong jawline and broad shoulders walked on the outside of Myo Mi-Sun, acting as a buffer between her and Gang Moon, holding the umbrella for her.
That meant something in Gang Moon’s mind.
As they passed, the small smile on Gang Moon’s face fell when he saw Myo Mi-Sun’s bodyguard’s other hand that was resting low on her back, his thumb caressing back and forth in an intimate way.
“Aw, did you just realize that she moved on?” Tan Mi-Hi mused.
Gang Moon glared at the amused reporter. “This interview is over and it better not air otherwise you’ll be talking to my lawyers,” he warned.
Tan Mi-Hi smiled wide. “This has been live since the moment we started,” she informed him.
His eyes widened; that wasn’t normal and he was unaware of that.
“Why are you doing this to me?” Gang Moon demanded, putting his hand up to block the camera.
Tan Mi-Hi chuckled. “There are many reasons, but the main one is that William Lee pays better,” she smugly informed him before ending the live feed.
