Chapter 52

Yeonhui-Dong, Korea
Blue Lantern and Seishu-Sushi House

Content, Rain sighed then rested her head against his shoulder. “Thank you for dancing with me.”

“It’s keeping me awake,” Kita admitted then chuckled when she softly smacked him. “Don’t assault me, Seon Rain. It’s rude.”

“You’re rude,” she retorted. “But thank you for going to dinner with me, watching a movie with me, and keeping me company tonight. I know that’s beyond the scope of work Uncle hired you for, and you didn’t want to go, but I needed it and appreciate it more than I can put into words.”

Kita looked at her, his expression soft for once. “I enjoyed myself, even if I didn’t want to go initially, it was exactly what I needed, Seon Rain,” he said softly, using his thumb to wipe away the tear that rolled down her cheek for her. “Now, tomorrow morning will be a different story when the hangover kicks in.”

Rain giggled, nodding her agreement; she usually got teary eyed when in the arms of a handsome man. “Without question, I’m never drinking this much again.”

“See, you are already playing the villain of the story, Seon Rain. Thus you can play anything.”

If he was teasing, she didn’t know. But that was a compliment in her mind and it made her snivel.

“Thank you,” she stammered, and buried her face into his chest.

That wasn’t what he had intended, but he was too drunk to try to figure out how he hurt her feelings this time.

“Think of nothing of it, Seon Rain,” Kita whispered, pulling her into him and rested his chin on the top of her head and simply held her while she cried in his arms.

When a black sedan pulled up, Lucien got out and opened the back passenger door for them.

Kita walked Rain to the car, her feet dangling above the ground as they went, and he helped her into the backseat. He handed the keys to his car to Lucien then nodded towards the Maserati GranTurismo that was parked off to the side.

Lucien smiled wide then hurried over to the Italian sports car and hugged the hood before he climbed inside.

Lula shook her head and got in the driver’s seat since Lucien wouldn’t be back anytime soon; he had wanted to take the Maserati out since they got there but Kita wouldn’t let him. “Grounded,” she reiterated, wagging a scolding finger at her big brother.

Kita made a mocking face and got in the backseat with his charge.

Lucien pulled up next to them and rolled down the window. “We’ll be back in a few hours or days, maybe a week,” he said with a smile.

“We?” Lula asked.

“Yeah, we,” Lucien said, looking to the passenger seat of the sedan and cocked an eyebrow.

Dae-Ho smiled wide and got out of the sedan and hurried to the passenger side of the Maserati and got in. “Flirt,” he teased.

Lucien winked then peeled out and took off going way faster than he should, but he was the Driver and driving was his thing.

“Why am I the most mature one out of you?” Lula rhetorically asked.

Kita shrugged from the backseat where he was sitting with his eyes closed.

Rain was curled up next to him and fast asleep already.

“You’ll make me wish I was dead tomorrow with the hangover this will no doubt cause and your incessant b*tching that will accompany it,” he said, his hand on Rain’s hip, protectively holding her to him, and he rested his head against hers.

Lula rolled her eyes. “Seven languages. That is how many languages you just slipped into. That has to be a record, even for Mother. Bravo, Brother.”

He merely smiled.

They pulled away in the sedan, leaving the Blue Lantern and Seishu-Sushi House, and the man in the car with the camera that had been parked across the street clicking pictures, behind.
