Chapter 154

Firenze, Florence
Morosini Villa

Rain stood in the bathroom, looking at her reflection in the mirror with wide eyes.

She kissed him.

It was just a peck, but she kissed him nonetheless, and he didn’t look disgusted by it.

If anything, he was as stunned as she was!

Rain was better at hiding it though; it came from years of acting.

“He is going to be so mad at me! Of course he’s going to say I threw myself at him again, and that I should be simply ashamed of my behavior,” Rain whispered before caressing her lips with her fingers then giggled.

Never had a simple peck, a closed mouth kiss, left her tingling and heart racing before.

She was honestly lightheaded!

“They’re tingly even still. That isn’t normal, is it?” she rhetorically asked. “Would he tell me if it was normal or not?”

She already knew the answer to that question.

Lucien and Lula had both commented, more than once, that Kita had never even kissed a girl before. She thought they were just teasing him, but Dae-Ho and Will both tried to explain to her his awkwardness with the opposite sex was because he didn’t know what he was doing.

Will confessed that Seon Rain was the first woman he had ever seen Kita make an attempt to be more for.

That was major, in Rain’s opinion, but was Kita trying to be more for her or was he simply having to adjust how he was and how he did things because she wasn’t like his normal clients?

“Dang it,” Rain huffed. “Once again, I’m making his past come back to haunt him because I can’t reel it in. Sure, it was completely accidental and was so natural that it scared me, but I can’t do that to him. I care about him way too much to hurt him like that… So that’s it then?” she sighed.

Rain went to open the door but stopped and put her ear against it instead to see if he was complaining about an annoying little girl throwing herself at him again or not. If he was complaining, that meant it wasn’t an acceptable or welcomed intimate exchange and she’d have to apologize for her actions.

Her eyes widened when she heard more than just Kita on the other side of the door.

“Oh no!” she gasped.

They didn’t sound mad, not that she could understand them entirely since they were speaking French.

Kita sounded confused and embarrassed, but not mad at her that she could tell.

Rain carefully opened the door just a sliver and peeked out.

Evie Blanchar was a tall and curvy, very statuesque looking woman with model like features. She carried herself in a way that demanded attention and respect, and her voice was slightly deep and raspy, but very womanly.

The contrast between Evie and Murai though was comical.

Murai Yasuhiro was rather short, even shorter than Rain was, his dark hair was greying on the sides, and features were all true to his pure Japanese heritage. There was warmth in his dark eyes and the small smile on his face looked at home there, which was strange to Rain since Evie hadn’t smiled once that she saw so far and Kita rarely did.

Obviously that was a trait he got from his mother.

Again, Kita bowed and they left the room, closing the door behind them.

Quickly he tried calling someone before fighting the urge to throw the mobile phone across the room in frustration before pocketing it.

Rain found his hidden temper rather sexy.

“That is it then,” Kita whispered, pushing his hand through his hair. “I either stay and keep her safe and at arm’s length, or I quit and follow the more dangerous path,” he said.

Rain’s eyes widened.

No.

That she wouldn’t permit!

Rain wasn’t about to lose him now that she had kissed him, even if it was just a peck. It was a start to potentially something more, eventually, and if she were lucky.

“So, those are your parents?” Rain cheerfully asked, joining him with a smile.

Kita nodded, looking down at her. “My parents are here.”

She gasped, as if shocked, and he rolled his eyes. “Yes, I noticed. Your mother is very beautiful, and very blonde.”

Again, he nodded. “Mother is very French; ash with natural light brown lowlights and diamond highlights, and green-hazel flecked eyes. Her father was honey blond and mother had light brown hair; that is where my siblings got the lighter hair from. I have Father’s dark hair.”

It amused Rain that Kita was pointing out the obvious; she had already seen firsthand everything he said, aside from his grandparents which was interesting to hear. When he got nervous, around her, he would state the obvious to her amusement.

“What’s wrong?” Rain asked.

Kita looked from her to the closed bedroom door. “Aside from the obvious of sleeping like the dead for nearly two days, Father is talking to me.”

“I heard. Did you expect him to be mad at you still?”

“There is only one reason why he would be talking to me, and that is because he learned the truth.”

Rain gave him a look. “The truth even your siblings are unaware of?”

He nodded.

“The truth that I know of,” she continued in a singsong tone, smiling.

Kita glared at her. “Because you are evil you got it out of me,” he reminded her.

She smiled wide, throwing her arms around his waist and hugged him tight. “My plan for world domination is coming along beautifully!” she beamed before laughing manically for his amusement.

He shook his head in resignation, resting his hand on her panty-covered backside. “Are you done?” he asked, looking down at her.

“For now,” Rain said. “Go clean up and we’ll join your parents downstairs. I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.”

Kita sighed. “You are beyond bossy.”

“And cute.”

“Sometimes,” he agreed, causing her to pout. “But mainly evil and bossy, and that is something I rather enjoy living with.”

Rain smiled wide.

“But you have to stop shamelessly flirting with me, especially with my parents in the house. It is weird,” Kita sternly scolded before chuckling when she smacked him in the chest.
