Chapter 125

Seoul, Korea
Outside Stage C

Dae-Ho tapped away on his laptop from the privacy of the security van he was sitting in with two bodyguards that were on loan from William Lee.

Instead of going on set as he usually would, Lula requested that he stay back and let them do a sweep and to work the set without him. At first he was offended, but Lucien explained it was to keep the potential threat on set from getting their guard up. Dae-Ho was their biggest obstacle when it came to getting to Myo Mi-Sun. If he weren’t there, their guard would hopefully slip and they’d be able to take advantage of it and end the threat.

It was a good suggestion and it was ego inflating that they thought so highly of Dae-Ho’s role in his cousin’s life and protection.

While Rain was in Kita’s care, Dae-Ho wasn’t concerned about her safety. They had been more chummy lately, in Dae-Ho’s opinion, and training for hours at a time, just the two of them. When he asked his cousin about it, she promised it was purely professional and nothing was going on between them.

Dae-Ho would have called her a liar if it wasn’t for the fact Rain hadn’t tripped over her own feet in nearly a week. She hadn’t caught her toe on whatever was in the vicinity, or inadvertently thrown herself at her bodyguard, and was now carrying herself with a strange sense pride and strength. Her back was straight, shoulders were back, and her head was held up instead of bowed.

Whatever Rain and Kita were doing during that private training time, Dae-Ho wanted them to keep doing it because it was working.

Instead of babysitting his cousin on set, Dae-Ho was working on Myo Mi-Sun’s social media accounts. President Pan Jin was doing a good job at overseeing the influx of traffic, shares, likes, and fan-mail that had come in. Many of the pictures they had released in a controlled means was being used without permission by media sites that were trying to identify Myo Mi-Sun’s mysterious boyfriend.

Will was able to edit and manipulate many of the photos and cropped them as needed. He couldn’t get everything or completely remove them all, that would have been suspect, but at Lula’s request Will only removed and heavily doctored photos that could have international reach. She didn’t tell Dae-Ho why, but he didn’t think it was something to press.

“What do you think that’s about?” one of the bodyguards asked the other.

“Craft services that got fired?” the other offered.

Dae-Ho looked out the window to what they were looking at. “No, that’s security and they’re being removed from set,” he said, amused. “Most likely they snuck in and are trying to sleep with Tiny Wang-Hee. Oh how disappointed they’d be…” his words trailed off when the three young women looked back to the stage area they were just escorted from and they looked to the woman standing back in the shadows smoking.

Dae-Ho pulled his mobile phone out and dialed. “Three were just escorted out by security. What did I miss?”

Lucien chuckled. “They were brought in under the pretenses as being interns. They had with them analog video cameras which they set up around the set in order to get something for Ong Se-Ri to run, presumably.”

“Jang Min is the one that brought them in,” Dae-Ho said, watching the irritable manager smoke in the shadows, glaring at the young women that failed her.

Dae-Ho motioned for the driver to follow the young women.

“Ong Se-Ri and Jang Min are cousins,” Dae-Ho said “They were raised in the same home as sisters; one went to University and the other wanted to be in movies. Jang Min was the one that released the edited pictures that Ong Se-Ri published. I thought you knew that.”

Lucien groaned. “No, it wasn’t public record. Being raised as family without blood-ties isn’t something you would find on paper. You should have told us.”

“I thought I did,” Dae-Ho said, making a face. “How much longer before I can come in?”

“They can’t get the male lead out of his trailer,” Lucien said. “This will be a long one, I fear. Can you please coordinate food for Seon Rain before too long. Get us the same please. Craft services isn’t appealing to me or Lula, and I know Kita will get even more murdery, as your cousin calls it, if he isn’t fed properly.”

Dae-Ho groaned; he had to work and he really didn’t want to run around and get food worthy of the French-Japanese security detail on the inside when he’s stuck on the outside at the moment.

But tailing three young women would help to pass the time.

“If Kita does get murdery,” Dae-Ho started, “make sure you get it on camera. I want to see it, and if I end up missing it you will so be cuddling me by choice for the next couple of years.”

Lucien chuckled. “You are such a shameless flirt. And here I thought that one of the founding members of the biggest K-Pop group in history trying for your attention at dinner and you were completely blowing off was you trying to make me jealous.”

Dae-Ho’s eyes widened. “Wait, what?!” he gasped.

How did he miss that?!

Again, Lucien laughed. “Tae-il is only a Myo Mi-Sun fan because it’s the only way he could see through pictures and video the one he actually has a crush on. You.”
“No!” Dae-Ho gasped.

But now so much made sense!

At dinner after Ya Da and Cah So tried crashing Myo Mi-Sun’s press event, the founding members of BT5, Bin Ji and Tae-il, joined them at the hotel to apologize. Of course Myo Mi-Sun invited them to join them and they stayed for dinner and dessert. They ended up coming to an agreement for Myo Mi-Sun to star in multiple music videos, but it was Tae-il that agreed to whatever it was Dae-Ho was offering or suggesting.

Dae-Ho didn’t realize Tae-il was smitten with him instead of his cousin, and he missed out on asking him out!

“How did I miss that?” Dae-Ho asked.

Lucien snorted. “Because you are too busy keeping a watchful eye and trying to protect your cousin that is like a sister to you. Selflessness causes personal blinders. Trust me, my siblings each suffer from it. Grab some food, stay out of trouble, and meet us back here… And don’t blow up Tae-il’s phone. Play a little hard to get, and if you want to swoon him, Sunday is Italian date night and you need a date.”

A smile filled his face.

“Italian food?”

Lucien shook his head; Dae-Ho was adorable when he didn’t mean to be. “Authentic Italian food. As authentic Italian as you can get, and it’ll include tickets to the opera so dress the part. It’ll be a long weekend, we leave Friday night.”

Dae-Ho choked. “We’re actually going to Italy?!” he wanted to clarify.

“Yes. William Lee does nothing on a small scale, and apparently he coordinated an entire opera for the love of his life simply because of a comment in passing when she was giving him grief about his lack of cultural diversity and taste in the arts.”

“And Lula will kill him for it,” Dae-Ho said.

“Yes, that we can agree on, but I’m sure she’ll show great restraint like she did when he purchased her Musée de l'Orangerie… It’s a long story and she wasn’t pleased by the public backlash that happened because of it, but she didn’t kill him over it. Hurry up with food, I’m hungry,” Lucien scolded before hanging up.

Dae-Ho made a mocking face, pocketing his mobile phone. “Let’s see where these little brats are heading first,” he said. “Then we’ll grab lunch from the hotel since I’m craving Italian food now.”

“Yes, Sir,” they guards said, staying back so the young women that hailed a cab didn’t see them being tailed.
