Chapter 85

Seoul, Korea
Twilight Theater

Gok Soo stomped her feet and refused to get out of the car.

Gang Moon shook his head. “You are making a scene at our movie premier, Dear,” he reminded her. “The cameras are waiting, and this is your time to shine as the star. Don’t leave reporters waiting.”

“The carpet isn’t red!” she shrieked and started stomping her feet again. “I wanted dark red. Why isn’t it dark red? Navy will clash with my dress.”

Yes, that would be her biggest complaint.

Since the moment their car pulled up to the event, Gok Soo had been throwing a fit.

First it was the color scheme.

Then the panels to get photographed in front of.

Then the shortened carpet.

Then the photographers that were on risers instead of a line of flashing cameras and shouting reporters.

Gang Moon wasn’t sure what happened or why, and he really didn’t care.

The only thing he cared about was if Myo Mi-Sun was there as he was assured by his manager that she would be.

The only thing that could save this disaster was using it as a platform to reunite with his ex on the red carpet.

“Everyone is waiting,” Gang Moon said, motioning for the driver to get the door. “If we delay it any longer than you already have, it will get them talking about trouble in paradise. Is that what you want, Dear? Reporters covering every paper with rumors of our breakup?”

Gok Soo looked at him with wide eyes. “What?! You’re breaking up with me?!” she shrieked and started smacking him. “You said you loved me!”

Gang Moon grabbed her wrists and held them down, squeezing them tight. “Stop hitting me. That isn’t what I was saying, and you would know that if you would shut up and listen for once! If you continue to sit in the car pouting like a spoiled brat each of those reporters out there will get overly creative and make up a headline. And sitting here will give them one! So stop pouting and get your ass out of the car otherwise I will walk the red carpet by myself. Do you understand?”

Gok Soo pulled away from him and rubbed her sore wrists. “Ow. Why are you so mean?! You just had to say that,” she whined. “It’s my first as the leading actress, and I wanted it perfect. Nothing I wanted they did. Navy doesn’t match my pretty pink dress. It’ll clash with my makeup and shoes. I went through a lot of effort to make this perfect and all about us. Now no one knows this is about me,” she whined.

Gang Moon shook his head. “If you don’t get out of the car, Dear, they’ll never know this is about either of us. They will think it’s Dan Du’s premier if you don’t. Is that what you want?” he asked; the young actress that was making her big screen debut had already walked the carpet, and the photographers loved her.

Gok Soo screamed in frustration, stomping her feet again.

“Very well,” Gang Moon said and stepped out of the car when the door opened for them. He smiled and buttoned his suit jacket then waved to the photographers.

Gang Moon smiled, his dazzling white smile was his trademark, and he wielded it like a weapon on the red carpet and with photographers. He was the handsome, charming prince type that hadn’t landed the big role that would set him apart from the competition yet. He was hoping Myo Mi-Sun would have help with that, and if he would have had a bit more patience it would have played out just like he wanted.

But he didn’t have patience, and now he was scrambling to get things back in order so he can exploit it.

“Gok Soo!” the reporters shouted when she got out of the car and joined her co-star and boyfriend.

The beautiful young woman smiled and waved, her candy pink lips puckering for the cameras, and she flipped her hair over her shoulder. She struck a pose, again and again, quicker than the photographers could keep up with.

She looked comical.

As long as Gang Moon could keep her from talking, they should be okay. Gok Soo was horrible at interviews, didn’t understand the questions most of the time or misinterpreted them and gave a comical, and more often than not, confusing response.

And the media loved it.

“Gok Soo! Gok Soo! Who are you wearing?”

She smiled wide. “Pink!” she beamed, causing the reporters to laugh. “I thought it’d be nice to wear something you haven’t seen on the red carpet in a long, long time.”

Some of the reporters chuckled, getting her meaning, and others noticed the flare of Gang Moon’s nostrils at the snub to his ex.

That had to mean something, and it was a great headline to run with.

“Gang Moon, this is the first project you’ve had since your engagement to Myo Mi-Sun ended. Is this your way of moving on?” one reporter asked.

Gok Soo’s smile fell and she started to open her mouth when Gang Moon wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into him in warning, digging his fingers into her hip.

“Breakups are never easy,” Gang Moon said, “and sometimes all you can do to get past that pain is to immerse yourself in work. This was a project fueled by emotion and heartache, but in the end something beautiful came of it. At least I hope the critics agree with me on that,” he said with a chuckle.

More camera flashes filled the area.

“Smile, Dear,” Gang Moon said through a smile. “Speaking of her will only invite the questions. Leave it be.”

Gok Soo smiled. “If she is here, I will make sure she regrets it. And if you try to stop me, you’ll regret it.”

He chuckled. “You aren’t smart enough to beat me. And you sure in hell aren’t at Myo Mi-Sun’s level. If you go after her tonight, the reporters will eat you alive and you’ll never be seen by a casting agent again. They’ll make sure of it.”

She wrapped her arms around his neck and threw her head back when she laughed, hamming it up for the cameras. “I won’t go alone,” she promised.

Gang Moon chuckled. “You keep telling yourself that,” he said through a smile.

They started heading down the carpet, smiling and waving…

Appearing like a picture perfect couple.

But their smiles fell when the lighting changed and the photographers started shouting in excitement, their attention on the end of the navy and gold carpet when another vehicle pulled up, being escorted by a security team, and the door opened.
