Chapter 144

Kita sat glaring out the window, ignoring his baby brother and the accusatory looks the others were giving him.

Rain sat next to him, looking out the window, not embarrassed in the least that they got caught almost kissing.

And yes.

They were going to kiss!

There was no way they weren’t.

This time it wasn’t accidental and Rain had mistaken it for a made for movie moment. Kita was there by choice, he lowered his head to close the distance between them, not because she was choking him with his tie. His lips opened, and she waited to open hers until he did as if inviting her.

Oh yeah.

They were going to kiss.

And Lucien had to ruin it!

Rain was so going to get him back for that, she just didn’t know how yet.

There would be many opportunities to try that kiss again. Italy is a country of romance! That meant countless places and ways for the two to be alone and try again.

“Oh crap!” Pan Jin gasped, stealing everyone’s attention, when her phone beeped with a reminder.

“Oh thank God,” Dae-Ho gushed. “The suspense of who was going to break the silence was killing me!”

She glared at him.

Tae-il softly swatted his thigh. “Be nice,” he scolded. “What’s wrong, President?”

“We are supposed to do a live Q & A for the website. Myo Mi-sun, did you still want to do the Ask Me 20 Questions we were going to do?” Pan Jin asked.

Because of the announcement of Myo Mi-Sun working with BT5, that caused an influx of traffic to the sites and lots of questions on the discussion boards. Pan Jin had been filtering through them as much as possible, and came up with the idea to do a live broadcast for the fans with Myo Mi-Sun answering twenty questions.
Tae-il looked to Rain; she didn’t appear interested in the least. “Did you want company on your 20 Questions?” he asked.

Rain looked from Kita to Tae-il. “Might as well. The silence is grating on my nerves, and listening to Lula and Will kiss between sniveling and crying is really creeping me out.”

The corners of Kita’s mouth twitched in amusement.

It was creeping him out as well.

Pan Jin gave them two thumbs up then started writing out the questions she had been complying; she’d mix it up with the most basic to the most asked, but she’d leave out anything involving a relationship.

Dae-Ho got up and offered his seat to her since it was a couch and it’d allow for the two asking questions to face each other.

Rain took his offered hand and he pulled her to her feet. “Thank you,” she said then plopped down on the couch. She didn’t bother to let her hair down; she had it pulled back into a sloppy ponytail. She still wore Kita’s dress shirt, had the sleeves rolled up past her fingertips, and her legs were pulled up under her.

She was comfortable and that’s all that mattered.

Tae-il smoothed his hair down and made sure he looked presentable.

Pan Jin handed them a stack of questions written out on post-it notes. “One ask a question and both answer it, then the other asks a question and you repeat,” she said. “Mister Dae-Ho, make yourself useful and man the camera.”

Dae-Ho snorted. “That is not my job,” he informed her.

“It is today,” she said, tossing him the mobile phone meant only for social media use. “It’ll be a live Q and A. Is that okay?”

Tae-il nodded, reading through the questions to make sure there was nothing there he didn’t want to talk about or answer. “I’ve done these before. Fan loves them. You ready?”

Rain nodded. “I’d like to keep it simple so I can nap. I’m tired and hungry.”

“Of course. Ready?” he asked Dae-Ho.

Dae-Ho nodded then counted out before motioning that they were live.

Pan Jin smiled for the camera. “Hello! President here coming at you live from 41,000 feet with Korea’s Sweetheart, Myo Mi-Sun, and one of the founding members of BT5, Tae-il!” she beamed, excited. “As a surprise for the fans, he’ll be your guest of honor for the Q and A today. Sorry we’re late. I’ve taken all of the questions from the page, emails, and discussion boards and complied them into twenty questions they’ll ask each other instead of streaming the questions live from the fans. Thank you!” she beamed with two thumbs up before hurrying out of the video.

Myo Mi-Sun chuckled, looking at the first question. “Thank you for entertaining the President and fans with me on the flight.”

Tae-il bowed. “It is an honor to be asked. Did you want to go first?”

“Sure,” Myo Mi-Sun said. “If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing for a living?” she asked with a warm smile.

Tae-il chuckled; this was a standard question he got often from reporters. “I’ve loved singing since I was a child, and dancing. If that wouldn’t have worked, or if I decide on a career change, I would say artist. I love photography and art. Painting and glass work I really enjoy, and have gotten rather good at it.”

She pouted dramatically, causing him to chuckle. “That sounds amazing. So much better than wanting to cook,” she huffed for his amusement.

“You want to be a chef?” he asked, going off script.

He was genuinely curious about that.

“It’s a dream. I love cooking,” Rain said, losing character. “I’ve always found a sense of happiness when in the kitchen. I’d love to travel the world and learn about different cultures and their food, and traditional methods of cooking.”

That stole Kita’s attention; he had suggested that.

“Dinner dates must be stressful for the guy with your love of cooking,” Tae-il commented.

Rain shrugged. “I wouldn’t… Actually,” she blushed, looking at her hands, “if it’s the right person, they wouldn’t have to make an effort. They would just order for me or subject themselves to whatever I order. Impromptu is so much better than extensive planning, I’m learning,” she said. “That’s how I learned of my new found love for the fluffy, delicious, cloudlike Japanese soufflé cheesecake.”

Softly she moaned with a small smile, her eyes closing.

A small smile pulled at the corners of Kita’s mouth as he watched her.

“You should try what the Taiwanese call castella cake!” Will shouted from the bedroom before hurrying to join them.

Lula suggested he try to appear as normal as possible to the public so the one responsible for killing his children were none the wiser that he knew.

Rain chuckled, making room for him on the couch. “Thanks, Will. Next time we’re in Taiwan we’ll have to get some.”

Tae-il laughed. “Obviously we’re on a full flight,” he informed the viewers with a wink. “William Lee is joining us for our Q & A. This is about to get interesting,” he teased.

Will smiled wide.
