Chapter 138

Seoul, Korea
Private Runway

“Are you sure they aren’t going to have a problem with me coming?” Tae-il sheepishly asked.

Dae-Ho shook his head, patting the seat next to him and Tae-il joined him. “No, they encouraged me to ask you. Sorry it took so long and required someone pointing it out that you wanted me to call you to get the nerve to call you,” he said, making a face, causing Tae-il to chuckle. “Despite what my shameless flirting in public with every hot piece of ass I see might suggest, I’m clueless when it comes to the hot piece of ass being interested in me.”

Tae-il blushed. “You do have an impressive way with words.”

Dae-Ho smirked. “I’ve heard that a time or two. You have to admit, to have one of the most famous people in Korea and the hottest member of the biggest K-Pop group in history say yes to a long weekend date is what every girl and guy dreams of! I’m surprised you said yes.”

Tae-il nodded his understanding. “You are too kind with your words.”

“I speak the truth,” Dae-Ho promised.

“I always thought my brother was the hot one in the group-”

He snorted. “No. He pales in comparison to your hotness. The ladies really enjoy his batting lashes and smooching lips.”

Tae-il sighed. “My brother is the flirt in public and for reporters, but he has a girlfriend he’s been with for years. The public just doesn’t know… Being true to ourselves is hard, for both of us.”

“What do you mean?”

“How do you think I feel?” he rhetorically asked. “I can’t be myself in public because of the potential backlash it’ll cause with the fans and record company. I have to smile and pretend I’m someone I’m not,” he said, his words trailing to a whisper.

“You don’t have to pretend with me,” Dae-Ho promised him, taking Tae-il’s hand in his and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

The sound of feet pounding up the stairs stole their attention, and Tae-il instantly released Dae-Ho’s hand and scooted away from him out of habit.

Lula rushed into the jet. “Where is William?” she asked in a panic.

They pointed to the back of the jet.

Will was curled up on the bed in the private bedroom, hugging a pillow to his chest mumbling in Tamil.

The two made sure he didn’t get into the wet bar as instructed.

Lula rushed to him, closing the doors behind her for privacy.

Dae-Ho didn’t know what happened or why he was kidnapped, for all intents and purposes, but a crazy hacker that was screaming and yelling in a language he couldn’t understand and crying made it obvious something happened.

When Rain joined them, she hurried to her cousin and hugged Dae-Ho tight.

“What happened?” Dae-Ho asked, watching the others get buckled in for takeoff. “Why is Pan Jin with us?”

Pan Jin bowed. “Sorry, Mister Dae-Ho. They didn’t have time to take me home first. I called my mother to let her know, and she is livid and I hung up on her, but she’ll get it over. I’m working and paying the rent, otherwise we’ll be homeless again,” she said in a clipped tone, making a face, before composing herself. “Sorry, Sir.”

Dae-Ho made a face as well, the two looking like twins for a fraction of a moment. “Father is Sir, I’m just Dae-Ho.”

“Of course, Sir,” Pan Jin said with a bow.

Rain softly smacked her cousin. “Be nice. Pan Jin has never been out of South Korea before, it’ll be an adventure for her, one that will require shopping since we left without our bags.”

Dae-Ho eyed the blushing young woman. “Last time we were in Italy was for Romance at Midnight,” he said. “Oh, I hope you don’t mind but I had my date meet us at the airport,” he said, taking Tae-il’s hand in his.

“Hi,” Tae-il greeted, blushing.

Pan Jin’s eyes widened with understanding.

That was why Tae-il was never seen with or rumored to have a girlfriend.

“You signed a non-disclosure,” Dae-Ho reminded the stunned Fan Club President.

Pan Jin quickly nodded. “I did, and it extends to everyone and anyone I see or meet when working or around Myo Mi-Sun,” she confidently told them with a smile. “Even outside of a professional capacity I am sworn to secrecy.”

Tae-il chuckled. “She’s adorable,” he cooed.

Dae-Ho nodded. “She is,” he agreed, and they both laughed when Pan Jin glared at them.

Kita joined them and motioned for Rain to change seats so they were next to each other until he was certain there was no threat to his charge.

“Yes, Dear,” Rain said, making a face, causing the corners of his mouth to twitch, hiding his amusement.

Lucien closed the door behind them and motioned for the pilots to get the G500 off the ground. “The hotel will send someone for the car,” he said, buckling in next to Pan Jin. “Wheels up!” he called out so Lula could get Will situated before takeoff.

When the jet started to pull away, Pan Jin clenched her eyes shut and her hands balled into fists.

“It’s her first time flying,” Rain whispered.

Lucien nodded his understanding and took one of Pan Jin’s hands in his and tenderly caressed it, startling her, stealing her attention. “Once you get flying mastered, you’ll be ready for jumping out of planes! I love skydiving. There’s something spiritual and freeing about-”

“Foolishly throwing yourself out of a perfectly good plane to your potential death with only a thin canopy of fabric that can tear with very little effort and with a questionably high failure rate strapped to your back,” Kita dryly finished for him.

Lucien smiled wide.

Rain giggled, softly swatting her bodyguard in the chest. “Be nice.”

“Overrated,” Kita grumbled then smiled when she softly swatted him again.

Dae-Ho settled back in his seat, holding Tae-il’s hand; he refused to let go of it. “Was the Director or Producer mad you left early?” he asked.

Rain shook her head. “No. Food poisoning will shut down the set for a week at least. Unless Tae-il is in a rush to get back to Seoul, we can make a week vacation of it if you want.”

Dae-Ho looked to the man next to him with a smile.

Tae-il chuckled. “I’m all yours,” he promised, getting a giddy squeal from the man next to him in return.
