Chapter 155

Via de' Tornabuoni
Florence, Italy

Pan Jin looked at herself in the mirror. “Are you sure?” she asked. “It’s really expensive.”

Will dismissively waved from the chaise he was lounging on, flipping through information on his mobile phone.

Shopping through Florence’s high-end shopping district was an adventure Pan Jin wouldn’t wish on anyone. The clothing, from some of the most famous and expensive designers in the world, was beautiful and not something you’d see on the streets of Seoul.

Pan Jin was worried what her mother would do when she saw them. Most likely she would try to sell them for money or destroy them with bleach just to be mean.

It had happened before, and that was what caused her first stepdad to call it quits.

“You and Seon Rain have a similar frame and build,” Will said, pocketing his mobile phone. “Modeste is making a clothing line inspired by his Korean muse. If you like, I can get you your own set in an alternative color than Rain’s once it comes out. They should fit you the same as they would her. That Chanel outfit looks very nice on you. And don’t worry about the price. I rather enjoy spending money on people that deserve it, and you deserve it.”

Pan Jin bowed. “You are too kind, Mister William,” she humbly said. “As much as I want it, I know what will happen when I get home. My mother will take it and sell it or destroy it so I can’t have it. It was fun to pretend that I could take it home though.”

Will sighed and got to feet then headed over to one of the sales associates that was holding a tray filled with expensive handbags. “You are a fighter, President, and you won’t go down without a fight. I respect that in a woman,” he reminded her with a wink and she blushed. “Here, this one.” He handed her the selected handbag that matched the outfit in his opinion.

Pan Jin took the soft blush and ivory colored bag with the gold chain strap then tried it on. “You like doing this type of thing, don’t you?”

Will shrugged. “I love taking Lula shopping, even if she fights me on it. I take her mother and father shopping often, she just pretends she doesn’t know I do. They rather enjoy the G600 jet they flew in on so I gave it to them as an anniversary gift. Evie and Murai are both pilots; he learned when in the military, and she learned so she would always be able to get out of a situation if needed. That is where Luci gets it from.”

That, didn’t surprise Pan Jin in the least.

It took all of 60 seconds within meeting the parents of the Yasuhiro siblings to know there was a story behind their parents relationship, one that she was too scared to ask about.

Murai was a very warm and caring man that spoke in a soft tone and enjoyed grabbing his wife’s backside in mixed company. Evie was constantly armed and flirted with her husband in front of company and their children as if it was a completely normal thing to do. They even regarded William Lee as ‘son’, which Pan Jin thought would have been awkward for Lula, but she wasn’t bothered by it.

Pan Jin was jealous of the Yasuhiro siblings because of their perfect parents and their amazing relationships with their children.

But she hid it well.

Will waved the manager over. “Have the next racks from Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Enrico Coveri, Roberto Cavalli, and Emilio Pucci brought in. Everything she has tried on and looked at more than once, we will take. Bring in shoes as well.”

The Manager nodded then hurried to do as ordered.

When you pay for private boutique service, the designers come to you.

Pan Jin groaned; Will was even more stubborn than she was, and she still hadn’t figured out a way to get out of this shopping adventure.

Lula was splitting her attention between her mobile phone and the others as they tried on outfits and Will. Lucien was doing what he did best, and the guards that were provided by the Emperor were maintaining security on the outside.

The Emperor was very generous with those he viewed as niece and nephew. Before they disembarked from Japan they fully loaded the jet with guards for the Emperor’s impromptu vacation with his brother-in-heart. He couldn’t stay long at the villa because of security concerns, so Will coordinated an entire floor of a hotel with impressive security for the Emperor.

The Emperor ambushed then sequestered his children to the hotel.

Since they had time to waste, Will suggested they spend time in the city while the others were indisposed at the villa, and they’d get ready at a secondary location William owned by the theater for the opera.

Lula wasn’t allowed at the villa while Kita and Rain were sleeping. As annoyed by that as Lula was, she left her parents to deal with it because it was a losing battle.

On her mobile phone were pictures taken at eight hour intervals for the past forty-one hours. They were of Kita and Rain sleeping.

The first picture Kita was on his back and curled up next to him was Rain, his leg split hers, and his hand was knotting in the back of her hair, keeping her as tight to him as possible. Rain’s hands were knotted in his undershirt, her face against his neck with a smile.

The second picture had Rain on her back and Kita was using her chest as a pillow, his leg draped over her hips, one of his hands under the borrowed dress shirt she wore and rested on one of her breasts. Her hand was resting on his backside, absently rubbing it in her sleep.

The third Kita was spooning her and holding Rain protectively, his lips caressing against the back of her ear with breath he exhaled.

In each picture, their positions changed, who was holding who changed, but the one constant was the look of peace and happiness on Kita’s face.

Lula hated them for it.

Yes, Lula wanted her brother happy, and somehow, in some strange way, their client made Kita unbelievably, and unnaturally, happy.

It didn’t make sense to her how it was possible. Seon Rain was nothing like them, didn’t come from the same type of upbringing or environment, and wasn’t strong like them.

Sure, she wasn’t exactly weak, but she wasn’t capable of facing the evils of the world without Kita there to protect her from them.

That wasn’t what Lula wanted for her brother.

She wanted someone that was his equal or greater than him. Instead, her brother fell for a weak little Korean actress that was an orphan…

And that she couldn’t permit to happen.
