Chapter 60

Seoul, Korea
Snowdrop Suite

Rain moved around the kitchen, shimmy and shaking to the tune she was humming under her breath. She wore sunglasses because light sensitivity was the only thing she suffered from when hungover…

That and craving meaty food.

Dae-Ho was sitting at the eating bar, watching his cousin hum with a smile as she made dinner. Rain woke up two hours ago and was hungry, but instead of allowing the others to call down for food, she showered then went to work in the kitchen.

It’s normal for when Rain drinks that much to sleep for twenty hours or more, then she’ll be up and smiling as if nothing happened. Dae-Ho always admired that about his cousin. She wasn’t a drinker, but she bounced back like a champ when she did.

Kita, on the other hand, was recovering in his room and threatened to start shooting indiscriminately if anyone so much as breathed in his direction.

Of course when Rain heard that, she started making her hangover broth that she swore was the remedy to all hangover symptoms.

“You’re staring,” Rain teasingly said, putting a bowl of ramyeon in front of him and a plate with some Gua bao. “What’s wrong? Are you mad I didn’t call you to pick me up like usual?” she asked.

Dae-Ho shook his head. “No. I’m not staring either. I’m just watching you. As usual, Cousin, you put me in awe with just how amazing and beautiful you are.”

Rain gave him a look. “What happened?” she demanded. “Is Uncle okay? Someone didn’t try to catch his house on fire, did they?”

He quickly shook his head. “No. Father’s well… Lula wanted to be the one to tell you, but since she’s out I’ll do it.”

“Do what?”

“Tell you?” he offered, making a face, and Rain chuckled. “It’s bad,” he warned, trying to find the words to say that wouldn’t cause his cousin to freak out.

How do you tell someone that they don’t have one stalker, and instead have two or more, one that caught their house on fire even?!

There were no words, and it wasn’t his place to tell her, but he felt he needed to.
When Dae-Ho looked up and met Rain’s deep olive green eyes and he saw the concern in them, his nerve crumbled and he went with the least deadly of the news Lula was supposed to deliver.

“Gang Moon’s premier is coming up and the Production House is demanding you attend the red carpet event,” he said in a rush.

If she were surprised, Rain didn’t show it.

“Okay, that’s all?” she asked, suspicious.

“You’re okay with that?” Dae-Ho asked.

Rain chuckled. “Yes, I am. Gang Moon, he wasn’t right for me and the fact he had a girlfriend or three while we were engaged, is testament that I would have been miserable with him. I’m okay. I’m happy he’s found happiness with Gok Soo, even if their chemistry is as made up as all of the movies I’ve ever been in. I’m assuming the production is a flop, and that’s why they want me there in order to stir up some drama or attention for my release?” she asked, as if it was nothing to concern anyone with.

That was the side of Seon Rain that no one ever saw, and Dae-Ho didn’t know his cousin even possessed. She was strangely calm and accepting of this news, and knew what Myo Mi-Sun’s role was on the red carpet without being told.

This event would put Myo Mi-Sun in the spotlight where the world would be waiting for the tears and drama that accompanies dealing with Gok Soo and Gang Moon.

But they wouldn’t get it.

Seon Rain was stronger now and she wouldn’t allow Myo Mi-Sun to control her life or how the world viewed her any longer.

It was a conversation she had with Kita between the sixth and seventh bottle of sake, and she agreed that now is the time to take back that control of her life and career…

Though, she doesn’t think this was exactly what Kita was talking about. He had been rambling about strappy shoes and eyeshadow, but she’d translate it how she saw fit since he wasn’t there to correct her.
