Chapter 118
Seoul, Korea
Lilac Suite
Lula was pacing back and forth, listening to what was happening through the communication piece in her ear, and watching it playout live care of multiple streaming videos online that were filling the large television screen in the living room.
Eventually Will got out of the bathroom and joined her, then muted her com so the others in the field couldn’t hear her complaining, and pulled up the live feeds for her so she could watch what was happening in real time.
Truth was, Will wanted to watch as well because it was unfolding like a live, unscripted K-Drama!
“I am going to kill them all,” Lula grumbled under her breath.
Will shook his head; she had said that over a hundred times since the event started.
“Why is Kitty holding her like that?” she demanded, motioning towards the television.
Kita was protectively holding Rain to him, they looked rather cozy and like an actual couple, and were smiling at Gang Moon’s discomfort.
Will shrugged. “How should he be holding her? By the neck or ankle? Dangling her in the air like a child-”
“Not like that!” was Lula’s only retort on the subject, motioning towards the television. “And who dangles a child in the air by the neck or ankle?” she asked as more of an afterthought, looking at him with a cocked eyebrow.
He smiled. “You know my childhood was rather questionable.”
“You are never allowed to babysit or be left alone with a child again,” Lula informed him.
“With our child?” he asked, wagging his brows.
She rolled her eyes, looking back to the videos so he didn’t see the blush that rose along her high cheekbones. “No. Why are they performing a live K-Drama in front of reporters and fans?!” she asked the obvious. “How, in any world, would this be a viable option-”
“For getting rid of one of your client’s stalkers without your brother putting a bullet in his head?” Will interrupted.
Lula glared at him.
“Gang Moon is a stalker, we all know this and agree that his unhealthy infatuation with Myo Mi-Sun could only end one way: with her death or his.”
“Kita has more self-restraint and control than you are giving him credit for,” she argued.
Will smirked. “Normally I would agree, but things have changed. And if your confidence in your brother’s self-control isn’t wavering, why is it that were you terrified of the expression on his face that last time Gang Moon and Kita were on the same red carpet together?”
Lula refused to answer that because William Lee already knew the answer.
“Gang Moon, stop trying to antagonize the only man that’s ever made my toes curl and knees shake with merely a whispered breath against my skin,” Rain scolded, caressing Kita’s cheek with the backs of her fingers.
Lula’s eyes widened.
Will smiled. “Where’s the popcorn when you need it!” he beamed, and Lula shook her head in warning.
Gang Moon scoffed. “So you’re finally over me, huh? Is that what you’re saying? It took the hired help to get over me dumping you at the altar?”
Rain gave him a look, one that was coming more and more often when those of her past were involved. “I did not get over you, Gang Moon, because I was never into you,” she informed him.
A collective gasp echoed throughout the crowd.
Those gasps were echoed by Will as he watched and listened with a candy bar in hand, enjoying the show.
Lula shook her head; how she ever was stupid enough to fall for someone that was so easily distracted and amused was beyond her.
“You think much too highly of yourself, Gang Moon,” Rain continued. “And you really should have shot lower because I am way out of your league.”
Will bounced up and down with excitement on the floor, where he was watching. “Ooh, think a network will want to pick up this Drama, because it is amazing!” he beamed.
Lula threw a pillow at him, hitting him in the face. “You are as much to blame as they are for this in the street K-Drama!” she hissed.
“Here it comes!” Will beamed, leaning forward in anticipation. “I bet another date night that Seon Rain slaps Gang Moon in the face.”
Lula shook her head. “Spinning hook kick to the head care of my lovely big brother,” she said. “And here it comes.”
Gang Moon grabbed for Myo Mi-Sun’s arm and Kita answered it by holding Rain tight to his body, pulling her off of her feet, and in the same fluid motion spun them around, his leg kicking out, foot connecting to the side of Gang Moon’s head.
Gang Moon’s body spun around as his feet flew out from under him before he landed face down on the concrete, unconscious.
“Dang it. I wanted another date night,” Will grumbled.
The flashes that filled the area and the shouting from the fans and reporters caused Kita to turn with Rain in his arms and they headed into the hotel at a normal pace.
There was no concern or need to rush, and that only iterated to those watching that Myo Mi-Sun had grown up and was not the same smiling pushover she was before.
Security cameras in front of the hotel Will had hacked, and they showed the smile on Rain’s face as she looked up at Kita; she found the assault on her ex most amusing.
That was to be expected.
But what wasn’t expected was the warm smile on Kita’s face over it or where his hand was resting on the woman curled up next to him, something the cameras behind them didn’t miss.
This wasn’t going to end well.
There was too much publicity, too many witnesses, and too many cameras and live feeds. It would be impossible to scrub it all, too many people had seen it already. Chairman Hu would not appreciate the innuendo that was being spoon fed as truths to the public in regards to his star client, his precious niece, being with her bodyguard in a non-professional manner.
It was unprofessional, and it would put into question the reputation of the Yasuhiro bloodline in the personal protection industry! When Murai Yasuhiro hears of this, finds out the type of foolishness his eldest son was up to with his charge, there would be hell to pay and demands of seppuku.
Not to mention, it wouldn’t end well for Kita when his the past saw…
They always saw.
Where Myo Mi-Sun has her stalkers, one of which was just knocked out in front of the nation and world, Kita had his own questionable admirer, but a Russian hit squad would be a walk in the park compared to the demon of Kita’s past that would come knocking next.
