Chapter 198
Seoul, Korea
Lilac Suite
Lula pulled the pillow out from under Will’s head then hit him in the face with it.
“Ow,” Will complained, pulling the pillow off his face. “What did I do to deserve your wrath this time?” he asked.
She cocked an eyebrow. “Oh I don’t know, how about what my brothers did in Valencia?!” she shrieked, hitting him with another pillow.
“Ow,” he complained, again, taking the pillow from her. “Stop beating on me. Yes, I know what they did. Who do you think took the pictures and video… I’m assuming Kita showed you one or the other and that’s why you’re abusing me now. If not, I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Lula screamed in frustration, fighting the urge to assault him more than she already has.
“Are you done?” he asked, propping himself up on the pillows she assaulted him with.
“I hate you.”
“Sometimes,” Will agreed, patting the spot next to him on the bed. “Kick your shoes off and cuddle with me. Tomorrow we’ll take over for your parents so they can get some rest and grieve in a way that only makes sense to them.”
Will didn’t have to say it aloud for Lula to know what he was saying; her parents would have passionate, aggressive, sex in order to deal with the flood of emotions Evie can’t put into words and the guilt of failure that Mauri was consumed with.
Lula was a lot like her parents, Will knew, and he was hoping for a sexually arousing evening, but instead he is going to have to deal with her having a tantrum.
“How could you keep this from me?” she asked, slightly more composed.
Will shrugged. “It wasn’t my place to tell you,” he reminded her. “Kita and Rain are happy, they make each other happy, so what’s the problem? That young woman could do anything and make a living at it. Actress, model, chef, influencer, advocate, anything! She isn’t dependent on your brother for money or to maintain a lifestyle she can’t afford, or to be relevant or in front of the media. None of that appeals to her. All Rain wants is to be happy and loved, and she found that with your brother.”
Lula dramatically threw herself on the bed. “Ugh! I hate you as much as them sometimes,” she complained.
“Are you jealous of them?” he asked, grabbing his mobile phone off the nightstand and thumbed through it.
Lula snorted. “No,” she scoffed. “Maybe. Shut up.”
Will chuckled. “Here,” he said, offering her his mobile phone. “It was a simple affair, one that we crashed. And after heated words between your brothers, and reassurance from me that everything would be okay, Rain walked down the aisle to your brother.”
With much reluctance, Lula took the mobile phone and watched the video.
Never had she seen Kita smile like that. Tears even flooded his eyes as Rain recited simplistic vows she wrote herself, in French which caused the tears in her smiling groom’s eyes.
The soft ivory colored Italian silk dress Rain wore was simplistic and slightly scandalous for a church ceremony; low cut in the front and cut out in the back much the same, the long sleeves and gentle silhouette making her appear older and like royalty. A simplistic hairpiece with a vintage style birdcage veil was the quintessential piece of a modern bride, and high heels.
The vows Kita wrote were in Korean for his young bride, and they made her tear up and smile, and she nodded quickly, unable to say the words aloud.
Seon Rain truly was the quintessential blushing bride.
The beautiful artwork adorning the cathedral was a colorful and timeless backdrop to a picture-perfect Baz Luhrmann movie scene.
And now Kita’s unusual choice in suit and tie make sense.
There was truly nothing Kita wouldn’t do for Rain, that was obvious.
“Huh,” Lula eventually said once the video was over. “It’s not how I would have done it.”
Will chuckled. “And how would you have done it?”
“Beach wedding,” Lula said. “Simplistic, no shoes required, my brothers complaining about sand in their shoes, gossamer and flowers. Contrary to what you think, I am rather simplistic.”
“You have a destination in mind?” he asked.
“Republic of Seychelles, East Africa,” she said without delay, causing him to smile.
“When you are ready, just say the word and I will make it happen,” Will promised, setting a reminder on his phone to check out real estate in Seychelles and buy whatever he could for the love of his life out there.
“I know,” Lula said, resting her head against his. “Do my parents know?”
“About Kita and Rain?” he clarified, and she nodded. “No. Lucien thought it best for Kita to tell them. It’s funny though. Your father wants to somehow put Rain and Kita together in as many romantic situations as possible in hopes of them falling in love. Almost like a cheesy K-Drama he says he doesn’t like but has been watching more of since arriving in Seoul. He’ll be happy to hear they are together once Kita tells them.”
She softly snorted. “Father tried that with us after he saw the pictures the tabloids got of us from dinner.”
“It was a completely platonic business dinner that had members of the Board of Directors at even, so it wasn’t romantic in the least. But yes, Mauri was too late because I had already fallen for you,” Will agreed.
“That dinner was on my second day on the job,” Lula said with a chuckle.
He nodded. “I was head over heels the moment you walked into that boardroom wearing those black high heels and that legging bearing skirt, and your take no prisoners attitude and bossy nature made me fall in love with you the moment you told me what I was going to be doing.”
Lula smirked. “That’s all it took to woo a pretend playboy billionaire?” she asked.
“Yes, that’s all it took,” Will confirmed. “Why those shoes?” he asked. “I always wondered that. They weren’t functional for a Chief Security Officer, and my foot fetish wasn’t public knowledge.”
She chuckled. “My mother told me to wear Louboutin and a skirt that would show a distracting amount of leg. Mother said that when walking into a boardroom filled with men that think they know everything, prove they know nothing. The easiest way to do that, let them know you won’t take sh*t from them and that you wear the pants-”
“Even if you weren’t wearing any,” he finished for her, and she nodded. “It is cute that your father is such a hopeless romantic and wanted us to hookup.”
“Be together, not hookup. Father is like you, a hopeless romantic with questionable taste in women,” Lula pointed out, and he simply smiled. “Put the phone up and get naked. I want to play with you while Kita and Rain are doing what they are going to do.”
Will smiled wide and started kicking out of his pajama pants, getting caught in the bedding in the process and ended up falling off the bed in a tangle of blankets.
Lula laughed, shaking her head, watching him. “You’re ridiculous.”
Will jumped to his feet, naked, and with a smile. “Ready to play, Sexy Lady?!”
She laughed. “Oh my God, don’t do that. I hate it when you do that horrible impression! And it doesn’t turn me on, just so you know.”
“Uh huh,” he said, hopping up on the bed and straddled her. “You think I’m sexy, adorable, charming, and romantic. You just won’t admit it.”
Lula sighed, shaking her head. “Uh huh, you keep telling yourself that. Now shut up and kiss me.”
Will didn’t wait to be told twice, and smashed his mouth into hers and passionately kissed the woman under him that he couldn’t imagine his life without.
