Chapter 88

Seoul, Korea
Twilight Theater

“It is an honor to be here tonight, supporting friends in the industry and the Production House,” Myo Mi-Sun said, her voice deeper than normal and with a hint of seduction that was completely out of character for her, but it worked with her outfit. “Since we are fashionably late, I shall keep it short. We are wearing Modeste original designs, and I am the new Korean face of Modeste,” she announced. “This is my date for the evening, my friend William Lee, the Chairman of Rising Moon Technologies based in Singapore.”

Will smirked, posing as she was. “It is an honor,” he said.

“It is an honor you said yes to escorting me tonight,” Myo Mi-Sun retorted, causing him to chuckle. “Am I making a statement?” she asked; it was one of the questions repeatedly asked. “Yes. I have not gone anywhere regardless of my lack of presence on the red carpet. And I have not been hiding, despite what tasteless and tacky reports have suggested. I have been working and living as if nothing in my life has changed despite how very hard some of you, who are notably absent this evening, have tried to say otherwise,” she mused with an evil smirk. “Yes, I have been rather hard to get pictures of as of late, but there is a headline making reason or three for that,” she promised.

That caused murmurs throughout the crowd of reporters and photographers.

“William and I have come tonight to support those I have called friends for years, and to fulfill contractual obligations that they would not allow me to get out of, regardless of how heartbreaking it should be,” Myo Mi-Sun continued. “Funny how that works, isn’t? Perhaps that is something you could look into and run as a headline?” she offered, batting her lashes. “Have a nice evening and drive safe.”

Myo Mi-Sun turned on her heels and Will rested his hand on her back and she shied away from him so he lowered his hand. He escorted her towards the end of the carpet leading to the reception area where Gang Moon was standing with wide eyes and a smile.

Lula lead the way with Kita taking up the rear.

Dae-Ho was walking with Lucien to allows for him to get a read on the reporters and area, staying back.

Without giving Gang Moon a glance, Myo Mi-Sun walked past her ex with her head held high and with a sultry sway in her hips.

When Gang Moon reached for her, as quickly as his hand was there it was being pulled away and painfully twisted.

Myo Mi-Sun stopped and looked to the side then smirked. “I see you’ve met my bodyguard,” she purred. “It would be in your best interest to remember he is always watching and will not think twice about putting down a vile dog that has more than outstayed his welcome. Do you understand?” she venomously asked.

Gang Moon hissed, trying to roll his arm to keep his wrist from snapping.

That was answer enough.

“Touch her again and I will break your neck,” Kita warned under his breath before releasing Gang Moon.

Myo Mi-Sun looked away from him and continued through to the staging area.

Will was no longer at her side, instead it was the one person she wanted walking next to her. It was the person she wanted resting their hand on the small of her back as she walked the carpet. And it flooded Rain’s stomach with butterflies that Kita came to her defense and threatened to kill her ex, was touching her regardless of how platonic it was, and was walking the red carpet with her.

Threatening her ex was the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for her…

But the fall out would be world shattering and heart breaking, both of which Rain wouldn’t be strong enough to survive.
