Chapter 102

Seoul, Korea
Snowdrop Suite

Rain flopped down on the couch in the living room and offered one of the bowls in her hands to Kita.

He looked from the bowl to her. “What’s this for?” he asked, taking the offered bowl of ice cream since she wasn’t giving him a choice.

“You look as if you could use a treat,” Rain said, sitting next to him on the couch then pulled her legs up under her. “Thank you for not being difficult for once.”

He rolled his eyes, kicking his long legs out in front of him and made himself more comfortable.

His suit jacket was off, necktie loosened, and the top button of his dress shirt was unfastened. He longed to take a nap, but it was only three in the afternoon and it’d look unprofessional if he crawled into bed already.

“You look as exhausted as I feel,” Rain commented before shoving one of the Bukkumi from her bowl into her mouth, her attention on him.

Kita nodded. “I am. The last minute change in venue for the meet and greet I wasn’t prepared for.”

She nodded her understanding. “Because of the damages from our hasty departure at the premier,” she surmised.

That wasn’t it at all, but he wasn’t going to tell her that.

“It took strength I didn’t know I was capable of to not crawl into bed the moment we walked through the door,” Kita said instead of lying to her.

Rain giggled.

“How you do it, I don’t know. So many people, so many demands for autographs and pictures, so many questions, and yet you fulfilled each with a smile and enthusiasm that isn’t natural. You’re a freak of nature, Seon Rain,” he said before shoving a spoonful of Makgeolli ice cream in his mouth.

She stuck her tongue out at him. “I’m not a freak… Okay, I kind of am. But I hate not making sure everyone is happy. As you’ve noticed by now, at least I hope you’ve noticed, my fans are either diehard fans or crazy stalkers. Go big or go home, as Will put it.”

Kita shook his head, taking one of the soft cake dumplings from her bowl and put it in his mouth. “Funny,” he mumbled with his mouth full.

“And adorable,” she reminded him before taking the spoon from him and helped herself to his ice cream. “When my schedule picks up again, you’ll find me drooling in the backseat and sleeping in weird places whenever the opportunity presents. I don’t get to sleep much when on set, or eat.”

“Warning acknowledged,” he said, taking his spoon from her and took another bite of his ice cream.

“This has been a nice little vacation,” Rain admitted, talking with her mouth full of cake dumpling; she was comfortable around Kita and that caused her manners to elude her. “I’ve slept more since this started than I have in the months prior. So that’s good, I think. I feel better and ready to take on the world.”

Kita softly snorted, giving her a look. “Now you sound like a villain.”

“Take over, not destroy,” she corrected, making a face. “Either way, the world is mine for the taking!” she beamed before wagging her brows, causing him to chuckle.

“You are a terrifying villain, Seon Rain,” he agreed, offering her a bite of his ice cream and she took it with a smile. “Is the rest of the day event free?”

She shrugged. “To my knowledge it is. Trying to take the rest of the day off for a nap?”

Kita took one of the cake dumplings from her bowl. “No, maybe. I’m tired. If there’s more on the schedule I’d have to take a nap first. Your schedule is starting to kick my old ass.”

Rain giggled. “You aren’t old.”

“I feel old,” he said.

The door to the suite opened and they turned to regard Dae-Ho and Lucien that entered.

“What’s wrong?” Rain asked when Dae-Ho hurried over to the couch then hugged her.

“You did it!” Dae-Ho beamed, flopping down on the other side of her.

She gave him a look, giving Kita her bowl he was trying to take from her so he could put it in the kitchen. “Thank you,” she told him and he nodded as he headed off; getting between Rain and her cousin wasn’t something he liked doing. “What did I do?”

Dae-Ho handed her the inquiry that came into the agency for her.

Rain took it then quickly read it over before her eyes widened and she looked from her cousin to Lucien then to Kita. “No!” she gasped.
