Chapter 203 Scorching Heartforge

The scorching lava flowed slowly across the vast open ground, and the Blaze Serpentess didn't notice Eric, the intruder. It swayed its tail and approached the lava pool, diving in with a splash to play and relax in the searing heat.

If an ordinary player jumped into the lava pool, they would die within minutes. Even with the Solar Radiance Buff providing 100 fire resistance, losing 300 health points per second is unbearable for most.

Eric watched for a long time and formulated a plan.

Blaze Serpentess — a high-level Overlord, level 25, with 500,000 health points.

Overlord Grade Bosses were much tougher than Chieftain Grade Bosses. A regular 25-level Overlord Grade Boss would have been a challenge for even a hundred-person elite team, let alone a twenty-person elite team.

Overlord Grade Bosses were so powerful that they instilled fear. Only large guilds could organize thousands of players to use sheer numbers to take them down; there was no other way.

The Blaze Serpentess on the stone platform was even more formidable than a regular Overlord. Without the Solar Flame Scriptures, even a thousand players in the Inferno Shrine would have stood no chance and faced certain death.

Eric knew a way to deal with the Blaze Serpentess, but first, he had to clear out many elites and special elites around the area. Otherwise, he couldn't handle the Blaze Serpentess.

"I'll lure them out slowly and clear them one by one," Eric said, casually approaching a lone Blazing Naga without using any other means to attract the monster.

Because Eric's level was too low, only level 14, facing level 25 elites meant that as soon as he got within 120 feet, these elites would charge at him like mad.

So, to lure out a single Blazing Naga, he needed a bit of skill.

Both Serpentix and Nagascale Thrall had excellent natural hearing. Sometimes, even a slight noise within 120 feet would have made them come over to investigate. So, when approaching these Nagascale Thralls, Eric had to move silently and make no sound, as any mistake would be suicidal.

Walking on the soft ground, Eric moved steadily and skillfully, easily catching the attention of a Blazing Naga, which then charged at him like crazy.

"Come on, come on!" Eric smiled slightly as he saw the Nagascale Thrall take the bait. Then, he turned to run towards a distant rock wall.

Inferno Scalespawn's strength lies not in long-range attacks but in close combat. Its long-range attack, the Fiery Roar, is a channeling spell with a range of 120 by 12 feet, which is more powerful than the Magma Houndraiser. It has a casting time of 3 seconds, but this posed no threat to Eric; it was more troublesome for melee classes.

During the chase, although the Inferno Scalespawn was fast, Eric was not slow either. As Eric reached the rock wall with no way out, he quickly climbed the steep wall and looked down at the furious Inferno Scalespawn.

Under Eric's disdainful gaze, the Inferno Scalespawn became even angrier and desperately climbed up after him.

Eric wasn't a long-range fighter, so he couldn't kite the Inferno Scalespawn. But close combat with it was too dangerous; a slight mistake could mean getting killed in two hits. So, Eric planned to fight from a distance.

As the Blazing Naga was about to climb up, Eric took out a basic Frostbite Grenade from his backpack and casually threw it down.

With a loud sound, ice shards flew, and a chilling air spread.

The Blazing Naga was instantly frozen, taking 300 damage due to its vulnerability to cold. However, with its 20,000 health points, this was barely a scratch.

The Blazing Naga was frozen halfway up, neither high nor low, and both sides were solid rock. The Blazing Naga was caught in a pincer by the terrain, which made it extremely difficult for the Blazing Naga to attack or dodge. It couldn't even turn around.

At this moment, Eric smiled slightly and jumped down from the high rock wall, attacking the Blazing Naga from behind.

A Blazing Naga that couldn't fight back was easy for Eric to kill.

A level 10 Slash landed with a scream from the target, dealing 168 damage. It had to be said that level 25 elites were formidable. The level suppression and strong defense meant that even with the Solar Flame Scriptures doubling the damage, it was still less than 300 points.

Next came Thunderbolt, Earthshatter Strike, Double Slash, and Inferno Thunderstorm.

A series of damage numbers appeared, but even with the damage amplification effect, the highest damage was just over 200 points. Occasionally, a critical hit would exceed 400 points. But with the Blazing Naga's 20,000 health points, only skill damage could break 100, while normal attacks dealt less than 50 points, even with the Frost Azure Flame effect activated.

Seeing that the freeze time was about to end, Eric threw another basic Frostbite Grenade, freezing the Blazing Naga again, and continued attacking.

Although the Blazing Naga's health regeneration was fast, Eric's damage output was significant.

Two minutes later, the Blazing Naga's health finally dropped to 20%. With a fierce roar, its entire body ignited and began to tremble.

Eric was prepared and immediately hid behind a rock.

Countless fiery blades shot out from the Blazing Naga, all of which were Nagascale Thrall scales. This was the Blazing Naga's ultimate move, Inferno Missile Strike. This skill deals physical damage mixed with fire damage. With Eric's current 1800+ health points, it could nearly kill him in one hit.

However, with the rock as a shield, Eric was completely unharmed.

After waiting for a few waves of Inferno Missile Strike to finish, Eric threw another Frostbite Grenade and continued attacking.

Finally, the level 25 Blazing Naga was easily taken down by Eric.

With the Blazing Naga's death, Eric's experience bar instantly increased significantly. Eric had already reached level 14, and the experience required to reach level 15 was enormous. The fact that it increased so much in one go showed how rich the experience was.

The Blazing Naga also dropped two Flamecrystal Embers, a Bronze Level trinket, and several copper coins.

Trinkets are among the rarest equipment, even more precious than necklaces and rings. In Divine Realms: Legends, each player can carry up to three trinkets. Until now, Eric's trinket slots were empty. He never expected to get a Bronze Level trinket by chance; his luck was incredible.

Scorching Heartforge —, a trinket, Bronze Level, requires 80 strength to equip, adds 10 strength, 10 agility, 10 stamina, and 3 fire resistance. It can activate a level 2 Flame Veil, absorbing up to 1000 fire damage.

Although this trinket didn't offer much in terms of attribute boosts, trinkets that add resistance are rare in "Divine Realms: Legends", each worth more than 6 gold.

"Great, I'm level 14 now, with 114 strength and 131 agility. Equipping this Scorching Heartforge will increase my strength and agility by 10 points each, just enough to meet the Blaze Comet's requirement of 120 strength and 140 agility," Eric held the fiery red Scorching Heartforge, unable to contain his excitement.

He didn't expect to be able to equip the pseudo-Transcendent Equipment so quickly. If he equipped the Blaze Comet now, his power would become incredibly strong, possibly reaching the level of a first-tier official Swordsman.
