Chapter 244 Establishing a Guild
In front of the task board in the first-floor hall of the Adventurers' Guild was crowded with players taking on quests.
Although these quests didn't offer much experience, they provided a lot of guild honor, and each player could only complete three guild quests per day.
Accumulating enough guild honor allowed for promotion, granting more guild benefits, such as experience bonuses for completing quests.
"Excuse me, sir, is there anything I can help you with?" The blue-haired lady at the guild's counter smiled at Eric.
"I want to establish a guild," Eric said.
"Alright, please fill out this application form," the counter lady said as she handed Eric a guild application form.
Applying to establish the Divine Realms: Legends guild was simple. Once the guild name and emblem were confirmed, a payment of 10 copper coins for the guild signature book was required. After obtaining signatures from more than seven free players, the guild could be established.
Newly established guilds were all one-star guilds, with the only benefit being the ability to undertake guild quests.
"A guild name?" Eric hesitated as he looked at the blank for the guild name. Unsure of what to call it, he decided to use the name Aether Wing Studios. After all, as the guild grew, his identity would eventually be revealed. "Let's call it Aether Wing."
Eric then designed the guild emblem to be in the shape of a silver six-winged figure.
After purchasing the guild signature book, Eric sent a guild signature invitation to FlameDancer and the others.
In Blackwind Canyon, where the levels ranged from 20 to 25, FlameDancer and the others were farming level 22 Demon Bats, following Eric's suggestion.
The Demon Bats in Blackwind Canyon had high attack power but low health. Most importantly, they were densely packed, usually appearing in groups of seven or eight, making it easy for solo players to get killed. However, for a team with strong area-of-effect attacks, this place was a leveling paradise.
FlameDancer, who was extremely fast, would lure over a hundred monsters at once. Guardian Knight Cola would activate Blessing of Protection and use Sacrificial Lure to gather the monsters, Violet Mistflow would heal, and Tonny would finish them off with a single move.
Their coordination and timing were impeccable.
If other players saw this, they would probably be dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.
Currently, the average player level was around twelve, with high-level players at thirteen. The highest level on Silvervale City's Honor Board was RogueVortex at level fifteen.
However, FlameDancer and her team had long surpassed level 15. Even the lowest-level member, Oracle Greedy Gnawer, was at level 18, and the highest, Tonny, was at level 19 plus 45% experience. Although it seemed like just one level difference, the experience gap was vast, enough to take a player from level 0 to over level 15.
This level disparity was enough to cause a sensation among all players in Silvervale City.
"What is this notification?"
While resting, FlameDancer and the others simultaneously received an invitation, a guild signature invitation. By accepting it, they would become members of the guild once it was established.
Initially, FlameDancer and the others wanted to decline, but upon seeing the guild name, they paused.
"Aether Wing, isn't that the name of our studio?" Tonny asked curiously.
"This is an invitation from Eric. He must be officially forming the guild," Violet Mistflow said happily after seeing the sender was Kai Blackthorn. "Great, we'll have our own guild now."
"But isn't it too early to establish a guild? We have so few people, and Eric mentioned before that we should wait until we have more members. Did something happen?" Tonny was surprised, as this was different from the previous plan.
"Let's not worry about that for now. We should sign," FlameDancer said, also surprised but trusting that Eric had his reasons. Besides, forming the guild early wasn't a bad idea.
As they discussed, they all clicked to agree.
Then they heard the System notification.
System: Congratulations, you have become a member of the Guild of Aether Wing.
System: By joining a guild for the first time, the guild system is now activated.
Meanwhile, Eric left the Adventurers' Guild and returned to StellarTrails Emporium.
StellarTrails Emporium was bustling with people, technically the busiest place in all of Silvervale City.
"Hey, buddy, you're here to buy the beginner magic-powered Armor Scales of the Ancients, right? But there are so many people trying to buy it that just waiting in line could take a week. I have a way to save you a lot of time and let you cut the line to buy the Armor Scales of the Ancients," a skinny Swordsman chatted with players at the entrance of StellarTrails Emporium.
"Really?" A player showed interest.
"Of course. A piece of beginner magic-powered Armor Scales of the Ancients costs 20 silver coins. For just 2 silver coins, you can skip the long wait," the skinny Swordsman smiled.
"Alright, take me there. An extra 2 silver coins isn't a big deal for our team."
The player followed the skinny Swordsman to the second floor, avoiding the wait on the first floor.
"There's a chance of business for everything," Eric remarked as he watched.
The beginner magic-powered Armor Scales of the Ancients were in high demand, but only fifty were sold each day, meaning only a small fraction of players could buy them. The rest could only look on.
But Eric couldn't focus all his energy on the beginner magic-powered Armor Scales of the Ancients; he had many other things to do.
The Armor Scales of the Ancients were just a way to build his reputation, not his real money-making tool.
Eric then entered the forge room on the fourth-floor to start crafting the Arcane Sentinel.
At this critical time, all the guilds were strategizing on how to be the first to clear the fifty-player raid. The equipment for the MT was extremely important, especially the shield. An exceptional Adamantite shield like the Arcane Sentinel was highly sought after.
If Eric put it up for sale, many guilds would be willing to pay a high price for it.
The sooner he crafted the Arcane Sentinel, the higher its value.
However, as an Adamantite item, the crafting success rate was very low.
An ordinary advanced forging apprentice had only a 2% success rate, meaning they might succeed twice out of a hundred attempts. In reality, they might not succeed even once in a hundred tries.
But Eric had the Book of Forging, the Obsidian Iron Insignia, and the Frost Azure Flame to boost his success rate.
Even so, his success rate was only about 20%, and since he wasn't very skilled, it was likely lower than 20%.
If he advanced to a junior Blacksmith, the normal success rate would increase to 5%, which wasn't much help. Only by becoming a senior Blacksmith could he significantly improve, raising the success rate to 10%. With additional tools, the success rate could reach 30%.
However, becoming a senior Blacksmith would take too long, and Eric couldn't afford to wait. He had to try now, as he had plenty of materials and could keep trying if he failed.
