Chapter 103 Kobold King (Part 2)
Isabella was astonished to find that the Infernal-tier Dungeon dropped so much good equipment.
If they could clear the Infernal-level Shadowmoon Graveyard, who knows how many top-tier items would drop? With these top-tier items, tackling other team dungeons would become much more accessibl.
Thinking of this, Isabella became even more interested in conquering the Infernal-level Shadowmoon Graveyard. But she wondered if Eric could achieve such a feat.
After Eric finished distributing the equipment, numerous individuals swiftly exchanged their gear, particularly the exceptionally fortunate Tonny. As the only Sorcerer, he got two pieces of the Sorcerer's Whispering Death Outfit out of the nine pieces of Dark Iron Equipment.
The Whispering Death Outfit is the best among the Sorcerer's level 5 sets. The two-piece effect can increase the level of Shadow Bolt by 1, adding to Tonny's already level 4 Shadow Bolt.
A level 5 Shadow Bolt significantly boosted damage.
Guardian Knight Cola won the roll for a Dark Iron Level shield. After equipping it, his overall defense surpassed that of Devouring Serpents' Shield Warrior Phantom Slayer by a fair margin.
Despite a considerable amount of equipment dropping, Eric shook his head in disappointment as none of it caught his attention.
"Why don't you want this Bronze Swordmaster's Blade?" Isabella asked in surprise.
Eric's gear was a mismatched set of Bronze Level items, which should have been much inferior to the Infernal-level equipment. However, Eric showed little interest.
"The attributes of this gear aren't better than mine. Just give it to your guild's Swordsman," Eric said indifferently, handing the gear to Isabella. Of course, he didn't mention that he was already wearing a full Silver Moon set, the best set for Swordsmen below level 10.
The Swordsman in the team thanked Eric repeatedly upon hearing this.
Even if Eric had taken the Swordsman's equipment, no one in the group would have complained. They believed it was only fair since Eric was the one responsible for obtaining such a significant amount of gear. However, Eric's fairness further deepened the admiration and respect the members of Devouring Serpents held for him, as they looked at him with even greater reverence.
Eric's ability to remain impartial and resist the temptation of top-tier equipment, despite not being a guild player, was rare in the virtual gaming world.
Seeing that everyone had mostly recovered, Eric said in the team chat, "Everyone, get ready. We're heading to the next stronghold. If you don't have a speed scroll, get one from me."
The members of Devouring Serpents felt a bit awkward upon hearing this. They had only prepared two speed scrolls and used them up quickly.
However, asking Eric for scrolls made them feel highly embarrassed. They had mocked Eric before, and now they had to shamelessly ask for his expensive speed scrolls. Refusing to take them would be foolish, but dying later would be even more humiliating.
"Can I buy some speed scrolls from you? I didn't have them prepare enough earlier, and it wouldn't feel right to use yours for free," Isabella said, understanding her team's embarrassment and stepping forward.
"Alright." Given Isabella's words, Eric naturally wouldn't refuse, especially since his money wasn't limitless.
Fortunately, Eric had prepared well and bought many speed scrolls, enough to give each member of Devouring Serpents three.
However, as the members traded the scrolls with Eric, a sense of embarrassment washed over them, causing them to lower their heads in shame. Some even directly apologized to Eric, which left him puzzled.
"You rascal, I am magnanimous and see that you're performing well now, so I'll forgive you. Just give me the scrolls," Scarlet said as she walked up to Eric, head held high, arms crossed, her red dress revealing a deep cleavage, and a slight blush of embarrassment on her fair face.
Eric naturally understood that it wasn't easy for the previously proud Crimson Flame Sorceress Scarlet to do this. If other players saw this, their jaws would drop—not just because of Scarlet's charming demeanor but also because she was apologizing.
Even Judy pinched her rosy cheeks, convinced that she must be hallucinating.
Eric just smiled and handed the scrolls to Scarlet, feeling a bit puzzled. Had Scarlet changed her personality?
He hadn't expected Scarlet to have such a side. If other men saw this, they'd probably be smitten!
Eric had not foreseen that a casual action of his would lead to this moment. It was unfortunate that he hadn't recorded it...
Meanwhile, as Eric and his team were tackling the Shadowmoon Graveyard, other guilds were still exploring the maze. They were killed repeatedly, suffering total wipeouts, causing many guilds to give up on the Shadowmoon Graveyard. If they kept dying, the lost experience would be irrecoverable.
However, many strong guilds continued to explore and slowly made progress.
Three hours after the Shadowmoon Graveyard opened, no guild had cleared it yet. The relentless attempts forced guilds like the Assassin Alliance and Crown of Paradise to calm down and analyze the information they had gathered.
Eric's team had reached an underground tomb and was preparing to enter.
To reach the tomb, Eric led the group through two more waves of small monsters, gaining over forty pieces of equipment and various materials, significantly improving everyone's gear. The defense of the two MTs surpassed the 400-point mark, allowing them to withstand two direct hits from a Zombified Kobold's claws.
The underground tomb was located at the center of the wilderness and was the only exit from the Shadowmoon Graveyard. Eric had taken a roundabout route to avoid suspicion.
Just as Eric was about to lead the group inside, Isabella looked at the eerie tomb and said, "There are no small monsters around. This might be the exit of the Shadowmoon Graveyard. Let's have an Assassin scout ahead. In the event of traps, we won't experience a complete wipeout."
"Alright." Although Eric knew there were no traps, he couldn't say that, so he agreed.
A few minutes later, an Assassin reported back, stating that there was no immediate danger but revealing the presence of a formidable monster standing at the center of a teleportation magic circle in a hall. He didn't dare get too close for fear of being discovered, and the dim lighting made it hard to see clearly, so he couldn't provide specific details about the monster.
"Let's go take a look," Eric said as he walked into the tomb.
Although the Assassin didn't know what the monster was, Eric did.
That monster was the final boss guarding the teleportation magic circle, Patchy Leor, King of Kobolds.
As everyone entered the hall, the once dimly lit corridor suddenly became illuminated. The previously extinguished candles surrounding them burst into vivid green flames, casting a vibrant glow that enveloped the entire hall.
In the center of the hall stood a massive Kobold, over three meters tall, wearing dark blue armor and holding a pitch-black rune greatsword. It stood silently on the magic circle, emitting a terrifying aura.
Everyone used their observation skills to gather information about the monster.
However, after seeing the monster's details, their faces turned pale with fear. Even Isabella gasped, feeling she had no chance of defeating it.
