Chapter 229 The Black Flame Effect

Boutique counter on the second floor of the StellarTrails Emporium.

Due to the high demand and daily limited sales of the advanced Whetstone of Precision, major guilds and players were lining up to purchase it.

However, there were very few people on the second-floor counter  today. There were all casual players just wandering around.

The entire spacious hall didn't have a single guild player, and the advanced Whetstone of Precision was completely ignored.

It made Anna, who managed the emporium, anxious, so she immediately checked it out and quickly reported to Eric.

"Although I expected this, they sure acted quickly. Darkstar Guild is gearing up for a fight," Eric said with a calm smile after seeing the message Anna sent.

The sudden drop in business at StellarTrails Emporium was mainly because Darkstar Guild had acquired a Blacksmith and Alchemist capable of producing advanced Whetstone of Precision and intermediate Mana restoration potions. They then heavily promoted these items through Darkstar Guild's channels, selling them at prices significantly lower than StellarTrails Emporium. Originally, a set of advanced Whetstone of Precision cost 1 gold and 40 silver, but at Darkstar Guild, it was only 1 gold. The intermediate Mana restoration potion was also cheaper by 1 silver coin.

Although the prices dropped significantly, the advanced Whetstone of Precision and intermediate Mana restoration potions were still highly profitable items. Even with the price reduction, they could still make several times the profit.

Darkstar Guild made it to attract customers.

As for the players, they would naturally go where it was cheaper. This was an unbreakable natural law because no one was foolish enough to buy the same quality item for a higher price.

But that wasn't the worst part. Darkstar Guild's exchange mechanism was fabulous. The exchange rate for ordinary Whetstone of Precision remained unchanged, but the exchange rate for advanced Whetstone of Precision was directly changed to 1:7, which was much more favorable than StellarTrails Emporium's 1:9. This made many players go to Darkstar Guild for exchanges.

StellarTrails Emporium didn't have a solid source of sturdy stones and relied solely on Eric's previous accumulation of sturdy stones, which would run out soon. Without raw materials, how could they continue production?

Moreover, Darkstar Guild had an advantage on the number of people who could produce advanced Whetstone of Precision.

Over time, they could obtain more advanced Whetstone of Precision blueprints from dungeons, continuously increasing the number of people who could produce them.

However, there was only Eric in StellarTrails Emporium, who didn't have a team or the time to farm low-level dungeon blueprints.

It would make Darkstar Guild surpass StellarTrails Emporium.

Eric then told Anna that since Darkstar Guild had lowered their prices, they would do the same, keeping prices consistent with Darkstar Guild but only in Silvervale City. The prices in the other seven cities would remain unchanged. Additionally, they would now launch the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients.

Anna was very efficient. Shortly after Eric assigned the task, she had it done and even set up a special counter on the second floor to sell the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients.

As soon as the new counter was launched, players quickly noticed it.

"Hey, there's a new counter here. What are magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients?"

"Let's go check it."

An elite team initially planned to exchange some ordinary Whetstone of Precision for use in small dungeons, but seeing the new product launch, they decided to take a look.

"Oh my god! Is this made of silver? A single piece of Armor Scales of the Ancients costs 20 silver coins. That's enough to buy a piece of level 10 Bronze Equipment, and it's limited to fifty pieces per day."

"Truly expensive. We're an elite team, and the next small dungeon run would only yield two or three pieces of Bronze Equipment. Not only do we lose experience, but we also have to repair equipment and spend money on potions. A single piece of Armor Scales of the Ancients is worth our team's entire day's earnings."

"Wait, the attributes on this Armor Scales of the Ancients are really high, and you can bind three pieces. The combined attributes of three pieces are higher than a piece of level 10 Dark Iron chest armor."

"Look, each piece of Armor Scales of the Ancients has the Black Flame mark. Could it be made by that Black Flame Blacksmith?"

At first, the team members were cursing StellarTrails Emporium for being greedy, but after seeing the attributes of the magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients and the Black Flame mark, they shuddered.

Everyone in Eldoria knew who Black Flame was.

The Glowing Chestplate had once caused a sensation. Although it was now outdated, its stylish design made many players treasure it, especially those with the black smoke mark, which was considered the coolest chestplate in Divine Realms: Legends. Many players who loved collecting good-looking gear wanted one, but due to its rarity, it was now being sold for 50 silver coins on the black market, with no one willing to sell.

Now, Black Flame had reappeared, and was selling such powerful magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients.

As the saying went in Eldoria that anything made by Black Flame was top-notch.

"How much money do we have right now?" the team leader asked quietly in the team chat.

"SageChin, all six of us together have less than 43 silver coins. They were painstakingly saved for repairing equipment and buying potions. Are you going to..."

"We'll exchange some of the sturdy stones we got for ordinary Whetstone of Precision and sell most of them. We'll also sell the few gems we got earlier. Before others find out, we'll buy as many magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients as we can. If our MT and healer each bind three pieces, clearing small dungeons will be a breeze. Once StellarTrails Emporium sells out, we can resell them at a high price and make back our money."

The other team members agreed it made sense and started organizing their backpacks, selling everything they could to buy the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients.

If the MT and healer had an extra piece of top-tier Dark Iron Equipment, it would reduce deaths in small dungeons. Especially with 240 defense points and 12 stamina points, the MT's strength would increase by a level, making it easier to tank bosses. Not to mention, the healer's abilities would also improve.

Soon, they each bound three pieces, with one extra piece kept as a backup.

Other elite teams and solo players who noticed also quietly sold their assets. Some players with money in real life even bought silver coins at high prices using credit points, frantically purchasing the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients.

In this way, the fifty pieces of basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients were quietly sold out...

At night, many players would come to the bar to drink and chat.

"SageChin, why are you guys so happy today, spending money on expensive drinks? Is it your birthday?" asked the Berserker captain of another elite team.

"Today, our Three-Headed Wolf Squad is celebrating. This bottle of Frostfire Spirits is on us for your Nine Phoenix Squad."

"Did you guys really strike it rich? Being so generous, this bottle of high-grade liquor costs 3 silver coins."

"Of course. Today, our team cleared an Adversity-level small dungeon for the first time and even got a piece of Dark Iron Equipment for our MT. Tomorrow, we're going to tackle another Adversity-level small dungeon."

The players in the bar were shocked to hear that, casting envious glances.

Currently, only a handful of free teams in Silvervale City could clear Adversity-level small dungeons.

"SageChin, stop bragging. I know your team's strength. You struggle with Common Level dungeons, let alone Adversity-level ones," the captain of Nine Phoenix Squad said skeptically.

"That was before. Now, our MT has a thousand defense points and over sixteen hundred health points," SageChin said proudly.

It surprised the Nine Phoenix Squad because both teams were old acquaintances and knew each other well. Previously, the MT of Three-Headed Wolf Squad was not as strong and was slightly weaker than their own MT.

After some probing, Nine Phoenix Squad spent 20 silver coins to learn the secret of clearing the Adversity-level small dungeon from Three-Headed Wolf Squad.

The reason was the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients. Three-Headed Wolf Squad was one of the teams that had quietly bought the basic magic-infused Armor Scales of the Ancients during the day. With a powerful MT and healer, and familiarity with the dungeon, they finally cleared the Adversity-level small dungeon after three or four wipes, a feat admired by other free teams.
