Chapter 271 Guild Residence
"Is Sharon looking for me?" Eric had a vague sense of unease.
Eric knew Sharon's personality very well.
She was definitely a self-serving person, always eyeing something on him.
"Forget it, I should go check it out." Eric thought for a moment. Although Sharon was money-hungry, he always gained something valuable from her. Maybe she had another high-level task for him. If the reward was good, it might be worth doing.
However, Starview Tower was in Shadowwing Citadel, which puzzled Eric. When did Sharon go to Shadowwing Citadel?
If Eric didn't know the location of Starview Tower, he might not find Sharon even if he searched all of Silvervale City. Moreover, getting to Shadowwing Citadel wasn't easy; without a pass, it was impossible to enter.
Meeting Sharon wasn't as easy as it seemed.
But for Eric, getting to Shadowwing Citadel was quite simple. Although his pass had been used up, Rosewater still had one.
"I'll wait a bit before going to see Sharon." With his years of experience in Divine Realms: Legends, Eric knew that any task in Shadowwing Citadel wouldn't be simple. He had many things to do now, so he decided to wait a bit before meeting Sharon.
Leaving the city hall, Eric called Rosewater and FlameDancer to head to Silverwood Manor in Silvervale City's trade district.
Silverwood Manor was originally an earl's estate, but the earl mysteriously disappeared there fifty years ago. Over the next decade, every owner of the estate also vanished overnight. The mystery was never solved, and the estate was eventually sealed off with guards posted to prevent any incidents.
Being an earl's estate, its size was naturally impressive. It was one of the largest estates in Silvervale City's trade district. Even though Eric was a viscount of Silvervale City, the private land he could purchase was less than a third of Silverwood Manor.
"President, why did you bring us to Silverwood Manor?" Rosewater asked, puzzled, as she looked at the dilapidated estate guarded by eight soldiers.
The guild had just achieved the first Infernal-level clear of Demonic Citadel, attracting many players who wanted to join. Rosewater was extremely busy.
Although Tonny managed the studio, Rosewater handled the guild, and FlameDancer led the main team. Managing the guild was the most troublesome task.
Guild of Aether Wing was newly established, with many management issues and incomplete benefits, making it hard to accommodate many members. They had to be very selective, judging by skill rather than level, which was time-consuming and labor-intensive. Rosewater was overwhelmed with the daily affairs of the guild.
If Eric hadn't called her over, she would still be busy recruiting.
"What do you think of this estate?" Eric asked with a smile.
"What do I think?" Rosewater examined Silverwood Manor.
Although it was broad daylight in Divine Realms: Legends, with the sun shining brightly, Silverwood Manor had a chilling coldness, feeling quite eerie. However, its vast area and central location in Silvervale City made it a prime spot.
"Although it's a bit rundown, the location is excellent. Just two streets west is the Silvervale City Bank and Auction House, and three streets east is the Adventurers' Guild. Such a prime location is rare in Silvervale City. Four of the five similar estates are occupied by major nobles, and this is the only one available. It's the largest among the five. Unfortunately, it's guarded and not for sale."
"If we could establish our guild headquarters here, it would greatly benefit our future development."
Rosewater explained, familiar with Silvervale City's real estate. She envied the estate but knew it was out of reach.
Even the outermost private lands of Silvervale City were beyond their means.
"Indeed, this Silverwood Manor is the best possible headquarters in Silvervale City," Eric nodded, smiling. "But from today, this Silverwood Manor belongs to Aether Wing."
Rosewater and FlameDancer were stunned, looking at Eric in disbelief.
"What did you say, President?" Rosewater couldn't believe her ears.
This estate would be Aether Wing's headquarters.
It seemed impossible.
"This Silverwood Manor will be our Guild of Aether Wing's headquarters," Eric said with a smile.
"President, stop joking. Such an estate is impossible to acquire, even in a month," Rosewater said. No guild in Silvervale City had a headquarters, and Aether Wing owning such an estate was more shocking than their three Infernal-level first clears.
"I knew you wouldn't believe me, so I brought you to see it," Eric chuckled.
For Aether Wing to develop quickly, a guild headquarters was essential. As the guild manager, Rosewater needed to see it and plan for the future.
Acquiring the headquarters was one thing; establishing it was another. Early planning was always good.
The three approached Silverwood Manor's iron gate, where a guard captain stopped them.
"This is a restricted area of Silvervale City. Please leave," the guard captain ordered.
"Not even for me?" Eric showed his Silvervale City viscount title.
"Oh, it's Viscount. I didn't recognize you. But this is a direct order from Governor Wiseman. Even you can't enter," the guard captain said respectfully.
"What about this?" Eric presented the Obsidian Pact.
The guard captain was shocked.
This was the deed to Silverwood Manor. From this moment, it was the viscount's private property.
"Since you are the owner, we won't stop you. But be careful; Silverwood Manor is strange," the guard captain warned.
"I understand," Eric nodded.
The guards opened the gate, and the three entered.
Rosewater and FlameDancer were astonished. Eric was a viscount of Silvervale City.
Titles weren't like levels; they couldn't be easily upgraded. It required a lot of reputation. No guild in Silvervale City had a title, only some nobles.
Titles were ranked: Duke, Marquis, Earl, Viscount, Baron. Even becoming a baron was a dream for all guilds in Silvervale City, let alone a higher rank like viscount.
