Chapter 356 Large-scale Destruction Magic
"RedFeather, their health bars are barely touched. The fight must've just started, and they're close. If we hurry back, we might still make it in time to help," Hatty said urgently.
But just as Hatty finished speaking, one of the escort team members died.
"What the...?"
Hatty stared in disbelief as the player's status bar turned gray, indicating they were dead. She knew the strength of the escort team well; they were the elite of the Stellar Alliance. For one of them to die so quickly was shocking.
"It's too late now. Our only option is to take down Black Flame to make up for our losses," RedFeather said, shaking his head, his eyes burning with anger as he looked at Eric.
It wasn't just RedFeather who was furious; the other guilds were too.
They had gone through so much trouble and expense to get the loot, only for Eric to snatch it away effortlessly. Now, Eric had all the loot from the Mechanical Slaughterer, and that was infuriating.
They had underestimated Eric's ambition. From the start of the monster siege, Eric had no intention of sharing the spoils. He wanted it all for himself, while they naively thought everyone would get a piece.
Now they realized how foolish they had been. They had lost from the very beginning.
The battle had been going on for a while, and even if they tried to help now, it would be too late. The only thing they could do was take down Eric. After all, the loot Eric had was almost as much as what they all had combined.
"Kill him now! Take him down!"
"Black Flame, you're dead today!"
The major guilds couldn't care less anymore. They charged at Eric, not worrying about whether he had set a trap.
As the guilds rushed forward, Eric and his team retreated into the teleportation hall. The guilds, determined to fight to the death, followed them in without hesitation.
Seeing the masses charging in, Eric spoke in the team chat, "Start the plan!"
Tonny, who had been waiting eagerly, unleashed Luminous Celestialflare.
The teleportation hall's doors and corridors weren't very wide, and about a hundred players could block it completely. The range of Luminous Celestialflare was perfect for covering the entire area.
Holy light rained down from above, causing the entire hall to tremble. Even though the guilds had prepared, their healers casting healing lights, the power of Luminous Celestialflare was too great. After two or three rounds, even the tankiest players were taken down.
After Luminous Celestialflare, a large number of guild members lay dead.
By Eric's estimate, over five hundred players had died. Tonny's name was so red it was almost black. If it weren't for the fact that Silvervale City's guards didn't manage the teleportation hall area, Tonny would have been killed by the guards dozens of times.
This stunned the guilds.
They realized once again the importance of large-scale destructive magic. A guild with such magic had a significant advantage over one without it, even before close combat began.
Fortunately, such large-scale destructive magic had long cooldown times and couldn't be used constantly. Otherwise, they wouldn't stand a chance.
"Don't freak out! Charge again! They've used up their skills," RedFeather shouted, trying to rally everyone.
The guild members launched another charge, this time with even more people.
The Aether Wing members were ready for the fight.
"Bring it on. Let's see the power of my new skill," Eric said.
Eric finally used the Flame Storm from the Ring of Seven Luminaries. Compared to Luminous Celestialflare, the level five Flame Storm was even more powerful.
Flames shot up, illuminating the entire hall. The temperature rose by dozens of degrees. Beautiful flame butterflies flew everywhere, but any player they touched turned into a fireball and then ashes, too quickly for healers to react. The death toll far exceeded that of Luminous Celestialflare.
"How do they have another large-scale destructive spell?"
The guilds had anticipated Tonny's Luminous Celestialflare, as it had appeared in battles before. They were prepared for it, so they didn't go all out in the first charge.
But they went all out in the second charge.
Now, another large-scale destructive spell, even more powerful than the first, had appeared. The guilds were baffled. How did Aether Wing get so many of these spells?
One large-scale destructive spell was rare enough. Even top-tier guilds didn't have anyone who could use them. But Aether Wing had two.
After Flame Storm, the guild members fell silent. No one dared to charge forward.
The guild leaders hesitated, starting to think things through.
Eric stood calmly in the teleportation hall, looking relaxed, as if he didn't see the thousands of players as a threat. His demeanor suggested he was in control, making the guilds wonder if he had more tricks up his sleeve.
If Aether Wing had more members with large-scale, destructive spells, charging in would be suicide.
The guilds had already suffered heavy losses. Another one or two spells like that, and they'd be done for.
"Why aren't you charging? If you don't, we're leaving," Eric said, standing on the steps of the hall, looking at the guilds who didn't dare to enter.
Eric's smile and relaxed attitude made it impossible to tell what he was thinking.
His calm and easy demeanor, combined with such a low-level taunt, made the guilds even more certain that Eric had more tricks up his sleeve. If they charged in, they'd suffer even greater losses.
The players watching from afar were stunned. Thousands of players, stopped by one man, not daring to take a step into the hall.
It was like one person blocking the door, stopping an entire army.
In the past, no player would believe such a ridiculous story. But now they did, because Eric was the proof.
A player who could play like this, even if they died, deserved respect.
After a tense standoff of over ten seconds, RedFeather stepped forward.
"Don't be fooled by Black Flame! There's no way they have more large-scale, destructive spells. He's bluffing, trying to buy time. If we charge one more time, the loot will be ours," RedFeather said, trying to convince everyone. "If you don't believe me, Stellar Alliance will compensate you five times for your losses!"
