Chapter 340 The Great Noble

Eric's sudden appearance made the members of the various guilds blocking the entrance freeze in surprise.

"Is there really someone this dumb in the world..."

"Hey, kid, you must be new here."

"In all of Silvervale City, we're the top dogs. Even the mighty Aether Wing has to bow down to us."

"Since you're new, let me give you some advice. Join us now. Why waste your time with a guild like Aether Wing that has no future?"

"Of course, if you don't want to join, that's fine too. Just pay us 5 silver coins, and we'll let you through."

The guild members couldn't help but laugh and joke among themselves.

"Is this really all you guilds can do? Too scared to mess with Aether Wing directly, so you block the teleport hall and harass new players? Isn't that a bit pathetic?" Eric ignored their mocking and taunts.

"Kid, are you looking to pick a fight with us?" sneered a male Assassin from the Darkstar Guild.

As soon as the male Assassin finished speaking, several other guilds sent out a few first-class citizens to approach.

These first-class citizens could cause trouble as long as they didn't harm players without a reputation. If any conflict arose, they could drag the players out of Silvervale City and do whatever they wanted. If the players dared to resist, they could be killed on the spot.

In other words, whether you resisted or not, the outcome was bad either way.

SwordShadow whispered to Eric, "Hey, thanks for standing up. I'll charge forward in a moment, and you take the chance to escape. Once you're out of the teleport hall, it'll be harder for them to catch you. Just hide in the city's high-end district, and they won't be able to cause any trouble."

The city's areas had differences. In ordinary districts, guards didn't care about player conflicts, but in high-end or trade districts, it was a different story. Entering city shops or restaurants was the same; even first-class citizens could be kicked out or imprisoned.

Eric smiled and didn't follow SwordShadow's advice. Instead, he stepped forward, walking towards the male Assassin from Darkstar Guild, DrunkenMadness.

"What's with this guy?"

The female knight, Turtledove, initially had a good impression of Eric for standing up against injustice, but seeing Eric ignore SwordShadow, her impression soured.

"Turtledove!" SwordShadow looked at Turtledove and said sternly.

"If he doesn't listen to us, he's bound to suffer. Let's see what happens to him." Turtledove snorted, watching Eric's thin figure.

However, SwordShadow remained silent, quietly observing Eric. He sensed that Eric was not simple. Despite the black cloak hiding his appearance, level, and name, the calm demeanor of a master couldn't be concealed. Seeing Eric's composed manner, SwordShadow was convinced Eric was a hidden expert, so he stopped Turtledove from acting.

But no matter how skilled, this was Silvervale City, a place where fighting was absolutely forbidden.

"He's really asking for it. Let's have some fun with him."

Six first-class citizens surrounded Eric, ready to grab him and drag him away.

"What's going on?" one of them exclaimed in surprise.

Despite their efforts, Eric didn't budge, showing no reaction at all.

"What are you guys doing? It's just a newbie. Why haven't you sent him away yet?" DrunkenMadness frowned.

He was assigned by RogueVortex to deal with these players trying to join Aether Wing.

With Aether Wing gaining fame, chatter on the official forums buzzed with people saying they wanted to come to Silvervale City to join Aether Wing.

This made the various guilds in Silvervale City uneasy, especially the Darkstar Guild and Supremacy Alliance.

Aether Wing was already a handful. If skilled players from outside Silvervale City joined Aether Wing, it would become even more unstoppable. So, the guilds united, sending high-reputation members to block the way.

With so many guilds united, even Aether Wing wouldn't dare to fight head-on.

Not only could they reduce Aether Wing's future members, but they could also diminish Aether Wing's prestige, killing two birds with one stone.

But DrunkenMadness's response was met with a flash of a sword.

Level 9 Earthshatter Strike!

These players were only level sixteen, with just over two thousand health points. They couldn't withstand the strike. All six fell to the ground, dead.

"You... you actually dared to attack!" DrunkenMadness stared at Eric in disbelief. He couldn't understand why Eric dared to fight here in Silvervale City, with so many people around. Wasn't Eric supposed to kneel and beg for mercy?

Turtledove's mouth hung open, staring at Eric. She whispered, "Who is he?"

SwordShadow's face was serious.

They weren't shocked by Eric's attack, but by the fact that he took down six elite guild players with one strike. That kind of power was on par with a boss.

After killing the six players, Eric turned to DrunkenMadness, smiling slightly. "So what if I attacked?"

Eric was a viscount of Silvervale City, a genuine noble. These tactics were child's play to him.

First-class citizens were just glorified commoners.

A commoner daring to lay hands on a noble was asking for death.

"You... you're asking for it!"

"Daring to kill our people in Silvervale City, no one can save you now. Not even Black Flame!"

"Guys, get him!"

DrunkenMadness felt a chill run down his spine as Eric stared at him, feeling like Eric was a towering giant who could crush him with a single step. He involuntarily took a step back but found courage from the many allies behind him, angrily shouting at Eric.

Dozens of Darkstar Guild members prepared to attack Eric, with more than ten magic users chanting spells in the distance.

But they quickly realized they couldn't use their skills.

Eric swung the Abyssal Blade, sending three green lightning bolts through the crowd. Each bolt dealt over a thousand damage, striking three times. No one survived.

Even a fool could see that Eric was no ordinary person.

The guild members who had been mocking Eric were now silent.

One strike killed six, then another killed dozens, leaving everyone too scared to move, fearing they might be next.

They waited quietly for the guards to arrive. Only the guards could handle a player like Eric.

"Who... who are you?" DrunkenMadness stammered, retreating.

Eric was too strong!

It was the first time he felt such invisible pressure.

Though nothing surrounded him, his body felt heavy as if filled with lead, and his breathing was labored.

"You said even Black Flame couldn't help. Well, I'm standing right here. What are you going to do about it?" Eric removed his black cloak, revealing his face to DrunkenMadness.

Without the cloak's concealment, Black Flame's appearance was clear to everyone.
