Chapter 368 Madman vs. Madman

Maple City, one of the major cities in the eastern part of Eldoria, might not be as bustling as Silvervale City, but it's not far behind.

Right now, the Stygian Alliance had already taken control of most of the city in secret, and it was only a matter of time before they had complete dominance.

"Ethan, are you seriously gonna reach out to BlackFlame?" Sutharos, cloaked in black, looked at Ethan, who was lounging on the sofa, enjoying his meal, and asked in surprise.

Even though BlackFlame had become a top player on the leaderboard and earned the Reaper title from the Heavenly Secret Pavilion, making him a valuable ally, he had previously rejected their invitation, mocked Ethan, and even sabotaged The Stygian Alliance's plans. Given Ethan's personality, he would surely want to eliminate BlackFlame, just as he had done with others before.

But now, things had changed. Ethan was actively reaching out.

"There are things you don't get. According to our investigation, the Mechanical Slaughterer is a very unique monster," Ethan said, looking at the data he had collected, a playful smile on his handsome face.

"A unique monster?" Sutharos was puzzled.

"That's right. According to my intel, any player killed by the Mechanical Slaughterer needs a full day to revive, and even resurrection spells from healers won't work. The death penalty is doubled, and even after revival, there's a weakened state where all attributes drop by 30%, and experience gain is reduced by 50%, lasting for two days," Ethan nodded, smiling smugly. "Do you know what this means?"

Sutharos shook his head, even more confused.

"Have you ever seen a monster with such power?"

"In the basic settings of Divine Realms: Legends, the stronger the monster, the better the loot. You can imagine how good the Mechanical Slaughterer's drops are, probably with a high chance of Epic Level items."

"And this time, Aether Wing is the biggest beneficiary, getting the most loot. If we can get our hands on these drops, it would greatly benefit our faction's development. But it's tough to get these drops, and we don't have specific data on the items. Even if we try to steal them, it's not easy."

"So I've decided to invest in Aether Wing. Although it costs a lot, once I'm a shareholder, I can access all their information and set traps to steal the items, gradually destroying Aether Wing."

"Money is no issue for me."

Ethan was determined to join Aether Wing. Ten billion credits were hard for anyone to refuse. Once he became a shareholder, he could openly access Aether Wing's information. Eric had previously thwarted his plan to support Darkstar Guild, and Ethan wouldn't let him off easily.

Sutharos felt a chill run down his spine.

Suddenly, Sutharos realized he had underestimated Ethan. His understanding of Ethan was too shallow.

Ethan's plan was insane and terrifying.

To Sutharos, Ethan wasn't after the Mechanical Slaughterer's loot; he was seeking revenge. The loot was just an excuse.

Ethan was willing to spend ten billion credits just to destroy Aether Wing. He was a madman!

"Ethan, I don't mean to pry, but we've caused BlackFlame a lot of trouble before, even ordering the capture of Aether Wing's main team. Now, investing in Aether Wing, I don't think he'll agree," Sutharos whispered.

"I've thought about that. Sure, we targeted Aether Wing, but that was all Darkstar Guild's doing. I didn't personally get involved. He knows that, so there's still room for negotiation. Plus, reaching out to BlackFlame when he's at his peak makes him think I value his potential and am willing to pay any price. This way, I can smoothly invest in Aether Wing without raising any red flags," Ethan said, sipping his wine with a cold smile. "Besides, who turns down money? I've checked Aether Wing's finances; they're not exactly rolling in it. To grow, they need a lot of credits. Ten billion credits is a windfall for them."

"If BlackFlame's smart, he won't refuse."

Sutharos felt a sudden jolt. Ethan's goal was to destroy Aether Wing, not just get the loot. Or rather, destroy Aether Wing and get the loot as a bonus.

As Sutharos was silently terrified, Ethan contacted Eric.

"President Potter, what can I do for you?" Eric answered the call, pretending not to know.

"President BlackFlame, I've thought it over. For a promising guild like Aether Wing, the Stygian Alliance is willing to invest ten billion credits. With our support, Aether Wing will dominate the eastern part of Eldoria. When can we sign the contract?" Ethan smiled.

"Looks like President Potter has finally recognized Aether Wing's value. Although your previous actions were excessive, I'll forgive you. Let's discuss the investment first. If everything's in order, we can talk about signing the contract. This investment is significant for Aether Wing," Eric said, sounding very interested.

Ethan almost cursed, his hand shaking, dropping his wine glass, which shattered on the floor.

Eric's tone made it seem like Ethan was a child asking for forgiveness, infuriating the proud Ethan.

"BlackFlame... I'll endure this today... Once I'm a shareholder, it'll be your end!" Ethan thought, suppressing his anger, trying to stay calm. "Of course. The Stygian Alliance is willing to invest ten billion credits for 10% of Aether Wing's shares. We'll also provide 100 gold coins weekly and send top players and talent to support Aether Wing, making it the dominant guild in Silvervale City."

"Ten billion for 10% shares?" Eric shook his head, smirking. "President Potter, do you know what 'times have changed' means?"

"Are you rejecting my generous investment because of past misunderstandings?" Ethan quickly said. "It was a misunderstanding. Those actions against Aether Wing were all RogueVortex's doing. I had no idea. Despite my orders, RogueVortex acted alone. It wasn't The Stygian Alliance's intention."

"President Potter, you misunderstood. I'm not rejecting The Stygian Alliance's investment. But ten billion credits for 10% shares? Don't you think you're being greedy?" Eric shook his head seriously. "President Potter, you can't be so greedy. But since you're sincere, I can offer you 0.1% shares for ten billion credits. How about that?"

Eric's tone made it sound like Ethan was getting a great deal, without any hint of sarcasm, as if it were true.

"BlackFlame!" Ethan's hair stood on end, his face red, veins bulging on his forehead. Unable to suppress his anger, he roared, "Are you crazy? Why don't you just rob me?"

Even Sutharos was shocked by Eric's words.

Even if Aether Wing was more valuable now, raising the price by 100 times was outrageous. BlackFlame was a master negotiator!
