Chapter 27 The Advancement of Team Eric

Summoner Greedy Gnawer was nervous when Eric spoke to him like that. He struggled to comprehend Eric's expectations and feared the consequences of underperforming, which could lead to expulsion from the team by a seasoned professional like Eric.

Finding a competent team in the current gaming landscape was no easy feat, let alone one led by a professional player. It was hard to come by!

"Don't worry, I won't let you do anything dangerous. Just summon the Flame Sprite Burst, then follow my command and do nothing else," Eric smiled, trying to ease Greedy Gnawer's tension.

In the current gaming climate, Summoners were not particularly powerful due to their lackluster skills. Their attacks mainly centered around summoning elemental creatures, with their basic attack, the Magic Missile Barrage, inflicting minimal damage. However, in the hands of a skilled Summoner who commanded powerful elemental creatures, they could effortlessly handle elite monsters.

"Captain, rest assured, I will get it done," Greedy Gnawer responded loudly and reverently as if a student were meeting a teacher.

"Everyone else, stay away from that rock, preferably at least 60 feet away. Be careful not to attract other monsters," Eric instructed the rest of the team.

"Yes!"

The others responded loudly, a stark contrast to their previous attitudes.

Eric was slightly surprised by everyone's performance. Why were they all suddenly so obedient?

However, Eric didn't know that his earlier move with the flying stones had already shocked everyone.

Everyone was amazed by Eric's stone-throwing skills and accuracy. Such techniques and precision were not something an ordinary person could achieve, perhaps not even professional players.

Admiration for skilled players was a common phenomenon in gaming, and these level 1 novice players were no exception.

In this moment, everyone began to regard Eric with a different perspective. If they had previously viewed him as a competent leader, they now held him in awe as an exceptionally strong player, evoking reverence within them. On the side, Tonny patted Ezio on the shoulder, feeling proud, "How do you feel about following Eric? Not bad, right?"

Ezio nodded silently, grateful that he chose to follow Eric. Eric was definitely a pro player in the closed beta, and such skills couldn't be achieved without enough experience and practice; only beta testers could do it.

"What are your plans for the future?" Tonny suddenly asked. Now that he had Ezio in mind, Cola would definitely join them, but Ezio hadn't thought about going in that direction yet. So Tonny wanted to recruit Ezio into the studio, even though the studio was still in its infancy.

"The future?" Ezio hadn't considered it yet. He was merely a casual player, engaging in gaming to earn some money with no significant ambitions. "I haven't thought about it yet," he honestly replied.

"I think you have good skills. Why don't you join us for now?" Tonny suggested casually.

"Really?" Ezio was taken aback by Tonny's offer, simultaneously contemplating his own future. He didn't know where he was going, but if he could team up with a pro, that would be great.

"Of course, but your performance will determine your future with us. We don't recruit easily," Tonny said, pretending to be a pro.

"Thank you, Tonny," Ezio said happily, never expecting his luck to take such a favorable turn, being noticed by a pro.

Seeing Ezio agree, Tonny breathed a sigh of relief. He was now acting like a big shot in Divine Realms: Legends, unable to help Eric much in battles but could assist in management.

The studio was still its early stages, burdened with a debt of 16,000 points and only two members, Eric and him. It was definitely the poorest and weakest studio in history. If others were to discover this fact, they would surely turn away. For now, they could only pretend to be pros to attract people.

Meanwhile, Eric was explaining the action plan to Summoner Greedy Gnawer, instructing him to use the Flame Sprite Burst to lure the remaining six Night Rabbits. Since the closest Night Rabbit to the Boss was gone, luring the other Night Rabbits wouldn't attract the Boss. Greedy Gnawer could lure the monsters with peace of mind. As for the Night Rabbit that left the team earlier, Cola was tasked with leading it away to be killed.

The Flame Sprite Burst was very weak, with a pitiful 50 health points. It could be taken down in one hit, but its extremely fast movement speed and small size made it hard to hit. "Let's begin. Greedy Gnawer. Remember to maintain a distance of at least 12 feet and circle around the rock," Eric reminded.

Greedy Gnawer nodded and carefully used the Flame Sprite Burst to lure the 6 Night Rabbits. When they got close to 35 yards, the nearest elite Night Rabbit noticed the Flame Sprite Burst and immediately charged towards it, followed by the other Night Rabbits. Seeing the Night Rabbits taking the bait, Greedy Gnawer quickly retreated the Flame Sprite Burst. The other Night Rabbits chased after it but couldn't match its speed. Soon, they were led to the bottom of a large rock, circling around it with the Flame Sprite Burst. On the other hand, Cola had already caught the Night Rabbit, who had left the team. He resisted its attacks and used the new skill, Holy Strike, which, combined with the effects of the two Bronze Equipment pieces, dealt 26 damage with each strike, much higher than the usual 11-12 damage. Moreover, Holy Strike added an extra threat, making it easier to control the monster.

In no time, the Night Rabbit that left the team was defeated, dropping five copper coins. With that Night Rabbit taken care of, only the 6 Night Rabbits circling the large rock remained.

"I'll lure the Night Rabbits, Cola, focus on pulling aggro," Eric picked up a small stone and threw it at the Night Rabbit at the back.

The hit Night Rabbit touched its head, looked back, and spotted Eric, who threw the stone. Enraged, it leaped towards Eric while the other Night Rabbits, unaware of their missing companion, continued chasing the Flame Sprite Burst.

"Fight!" Eric shouted as the Night Rabbit was 20 yards away.

Cola rushed forward and landed a Holy Strike on the Night Rabbit's head.

The Night Rabbit redirected its aggression, reaching out to claw at Cola's head. However, Cola reacted quickly, dodging the attack with a side step. He then used Judgment to further increase the monster's threat level.

"Everyone, focus fire."

Seeing Cola's performance, Eric clapped silently. He didn't expect Cola to learn so quickly. After just a dozen or so battles, Cola had already figured out the Night Rabbit's attack patterns. He truly lived up to being the main MT of a top guild ten years later, showing unlimited potential.

In less than twenty seconds, the Night Rabbit in front of Cola fell, dropping a skill book for the Two-Strike Combo.

Eric wasted no time in learning it.

Two-Strike Combo, a physical skill requiring a sword, could quickly deal two hits, each swing causing 120% + 15 damage, with an additional 20% bleeding effect lasting 10 seconds, stackable up to 5 times. It had an 8-second cooldown at level 1 with 0/300 proficiency.

This book significantly boosted Eric's burst damage. As for adapting to the new skill, Eric had no issues. Having played as a swordsman for ten years, he had every sword skill engraved in his bones. Once he acquired a skill, he could maximize its effectiveness.

The remaining 5 Night Rabbits were lured out by Eric one by one and then taken down. As the last Night Rabbit fell, a golden light enveloped Eric, leveling him up to 2.

Additionally, the 5 Night Rabbits contributed a Guardian Knight's Bronze Level plate armor piece to the team, increasing Cola's health to 390 points and defense to 56, boosting their resistance against the Night Rabbit Leader Wilm they were about to face.
