Chapter 159 Buried History

The power of even a Tier 1 magic scroll was no joke, way stronger than the spells players could normally use.

This was especially true for fire and ice magic, which Eric used like a pro.

One Crimson Inferno Blast, a fire spell that hits a whole area, torched the Goldenfin Wyrm around them, dealing over six thousand damage. Then came Frosty Gale Extinguish, an ice spell, hitting for over five thousand damage each time.

The Goldenfin Wyrm were stuck and couldn't move thanks to the Frostbite Grenades, making them easy targets as their health bars dropped fast under the constant magic attacks.

After ten minutes of non-stop blasting, they ran out of Tier 1 magic scrolls and Frostbite Grenades.

If converted into monetary terms, the value of these items would exceed 20 gold, enough to bankrupt an ordinary guild.

But the results were worth it. They captured a whopping two hundred and forty-seven Goldenfin Wyrm in that short time, bringing their total to one thousand five hundred and ten. They not only met but smashed their initial goal.

"Here's my haul, Eric."

"And mine."

Tonny and Ezio eagerly handed over their captured Goldenfin Wyrm to Eric, their eyes practically shining with excitement. They couldn't wait to see the Epic Level item fragment, the Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon, and witness its legendary power.

Eric took their bounty, but he had a thoughtful frown on his face.

The original plan was to trade their catch for the Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon. But now, with an extra five hundred Goldenfin Wyrm, they had a lot more options.

"Eric, what's the hold-up?" Tonny asked, noticing Eric's silence.

"I'm just… thinking about our options," Eric replied, deep in thought. "With this many extra Goldenfin Wyrm, we could trade for a bunch of things. Maybe two or three Obsidian Level items. Or over ten pieces of Level 15 Adamantite Equipment. We could even gear up the whole squad with Mithril gear, which would be a huge boost to our strength. But then again… five hundred Goldenfin Wyrm could also get us another Epic Level item."

"A full squad decked out in Level 15 Mithril gear?" Tonny said, his eyes wide at the thought.

It would be a while before they hit Level 15, and new gear would probably be available by then. But still, a full set of Mithril gear was something most players, even in top guilds, could only dream of. Owning one or two pieces of Mithril Equipment, and usually only Level 10 at best, was a big deal.

Only a few top-tier players had managed to get a full set of Level 15 Mithril Equipment. It showed their skill, dedication, and maybe a bit of luck.

"To be the top Level 15 elite squad, even better than those in the major guilds…" Ezio murmured, awe in his voice.

"What do you guys think?" Eric asked, looking at his friends.

Tonny and Ezio exchanged glances, feeling the weight of the decision. This wasn't just about getting new gear; it was about shaping the future of Aether Wing Studios.

After a moment, Tonny spoke up. "Eric, I say we go for another Epic Level item."

"Don't get me wrong, a full set of Mithril gear at Level 15 would be amazing," Tonny continued. "But we can always work towards that later. Getting another Epic Level item… we might never get this chance again."

"He's right," Ezio chimed in. "For a big guild, an Epic Level item might not seem as valuable as hundreds of Mithril items. But even they would trade a mountain of Mithril for a single Epic. If we go for the Mithril now, it's a temporary boost. What happens when we outlevel it? The Epic Level item, though… that's a long-term investment."

Tonny and Ezio exchanged glances, then both turned their serious gaze toward Eric. They trusted his leadership and believed he could guide them to greatness. They knew that with more strength, getting better gear would only get easier. This wasn't the time for short-sighted decisions.

"I get it," Eric nodded, thinking it over. "I'll check what other Epic Level items are available, see if there's anything that would benefit us in the long run. If not, we'll go for the Adamantite Artifacts."

He had thought about this too, but he wouldn't let his personal desires get in the way of the team's needs. The Epic Level item fragment was a must, but for the rest, he would consider their opinions. They were in this together.

"Well then, young adventurer," Faust's voice rang out, amused. "Let's see what treasures you wish to exchange for."

He hadn't expected to part with his prized Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon so easily. He had once been offered a king's ransom for it, thirty thousand gold coins, and yet he had refused. And now, here it was, being traded for a mere thousand Goldenfin Wyrm…

Eric's eyes scanned the exchange list. Besides the Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon, three other Epic Level items were available: the Heart of Radiance necklace, the Star Chaser longbow, and Milien's Guardian staff.

The list of Obsidian Level items and Adamantite Artifacts was long, offering a wide range of powerful gear.

However, the most captivating item remained the Epic Level fragment, Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon.

The Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon was a must-have. Of the remaining three, the Star Chaser longbow was for Rangers, making it useless for their current team. That left the Heart of Radiance necklace and Milien's Guardian staff.

Annoyingly, the attributes of these items were hidden, making it hard to decide which would give their team the biggest boost.

"Which to choose…" Eric murmured, his eyes darting between the two Epic Level items.

Faust just smiled, enjoying Eric's dilemma.

After what felt like forever, a name surfaced in Eric's memory, a name once whispered with reverence in the world of Divine Realms: Legends, but now almost forgotten.

"Faust," Eric declared, his voice steady with newfound resolve. "I'll take the Divine Breath of the Celestial Dragon, Milien's Guardian Shield… and the Radiant Ring of Brilliance, the Level 15 Mithril ring."

The air buzzed with surprise. Faust's eyes widened, his smile replaced by sheer disbelief.

"How… how do you know about that?"
