Chapter 288 Consecutive Clearances

Ancient ferocious beasts are now extremely rare or already extinct in today's Divine Realms: Legends, and they are hardly ever seen.

Now, one can only hope to see them by starting the Twelve Trials; otherwise, they are incredibly difficult to encounter elsewhere.

In the first round of the trial grounds, a blurry figure descended from the sky.

Even though this world was dominated by Stormblade, this figure remained unaffected, as if it were the favored child of the wind, moving effortlessly.

The massive figure slowly landed, standing proudly in the center of the platform, looking down at the tiny Eric.

This monster had the upper body of an eagle and the lower body of a lion, clearly the king of the skies, the Griffon.

Griffon, elite level, level 20, 30,000 HP.

"Didn't expect the Griffon to be this big; its wingspan alone must be over 80 feet," Eric observed the Griffon quietly without rushing into action.

As a trial, the monsters here were completely different from those outside. Not only did they have a plethora of skills, but their basic stats were also much stronger. Most importantly, their intelligence was higher, not limited to simple attack and defense battles.

However, the Griffon didn't give Eric much time. With a piercing screech, it flapped its wings, stirring up a Stormblade.

In an instant, two tornadoes over 10 feet high swept towards Eric, shredding everything in their path.

"Using skills right off the bat, the Griffon is indeed extraordinary."

Eric smiled faintly, dodging the range of the two tornadoes with a flicker of his body.

Then, with a Silent Stride, he appeared behind the Griffon, and the pitch-black Abyssal Blade turned into several black streaks, slashing at the Griffon's wings.

Snow-white feathers scattered like snowflakes, falling onto the blood-soaked ground.

"Roar!" The Griffon didn't even have time to react before letting out a painful roar, with damage numbers over 400 appearing above its head, and over 800 after a critical hit.

Then, with a level 10 Slash, one of the Griffon's wings was almost entirely severed, rendering it crippled.

The Griffon's HP instantly dropped by over 1,900.

In just one move, the Griffon's HP had decreased by 16%, and with one wing crippled, it couldn't even fly.

The gap between the two was evident.

A Griffon that couldn't fly was nothing more than a live target for Eric, whose agility was over 200.

Eric kept darting around the Griffon, stabbing it with black streaks. He didn't use any more skills, only normal Cleaving Strikes, to avoid the unnatural movements caused by skill usage. Eric's attacks were precise, always hitting vital points or joints that affected movement, making it even harder for the Griffon to hit him.

Although each hit seemed to deal only around 400 damage, after a dozen seconds, the fierce Griffon lay on the ground.

System: Defeated Griffon, completed the first round of the trial, was rewarded with 100,000 experience points, 5 free mastery points, and 50 points to all skill proficiencies.

System: First round of the trial passed. Would you like to start the next round?

"Free mastery points as a reward, that's great." Eric smiled slightly at the reward, sheathed the Abyssal Blade and Sword of Daemonbane, and clicked to start the next round.

Although the trial monsters were strong, they were no match for Eric, who had excellent attributes and equipment.

"Passed, and so easily."

"Not bad, although he hasn't advanced to a first-tier Swordsman, his combat power has already reached that level. It's normal for him to take down a Griffon."

"He should be able to handle three rounds without any problem, but starting from the fourth round, it won't be so easy."

"The Twelve Trials have different stages every three rounds. The first to third rounds are the Novice Stage, the fourth to sixth rounds are the Intermediate Stage, the seventh to ninth rounds are the Advanced Stage, and the tenth to twelfth rounds are the Top-tier Stage. I guess this kid will make it to the fifth round at most."

The experts in the Throne of Immortality, all peak powerhouses, could make accurate judgments based on Eric's battle.

As they predicted, the second round's trial ground was a forest, and the opponent was a Shadowhowl Nightwolf, the absolute predator of the forest. It was also a level 20 elite with 30,000 HP. Compared to the Griffon, the Shadowhowl Nightwolf, also a first-tier primary beast, had stronger combat power on the ground, higher physical attack, and faster reactions.

However, Eric immediately attacked the Shadowhowl Nightwolf's hind legs, just like he had crippled the Griffon's wings, significantly reducing its movement speed.

Then Eric used Blaze Comet to kite and attack.

In less than thirty seconds, the Shadowhowl Nightwolf also fell.

System: Defeated Shadowhowl Nightwolf, completed the second round of the trial, rewarded with 300,000 experience points, 10 free mastery points, and 50 points to all skill proficiencies.

System: Second round of the trial passed, would you like to start the next round?

Eric's level then glowed with a golden light, rising to level 19. He added all 6 extra attribute points to strength, boosting his strength attribute to 180 points, unlocking the hidden passive skill of the strength attribute, the primary destructive force, allowing him to destroy Bronze Level items with his bare hands.

This meant that Eric's bare-handed attacks could damage Bronze Level weapons and equipment, reducing their durability and eventually destroying them.

Eric had originally planned to add the 6 free attribute points to intelligence, but for the trial, he decided to boost his combat power as much as possible.

Then Eric clicked to start the next round of the trial.

The third round featured an Emerald Gaze Arachnid, and the trial ground was a dark cave, more suitable for a spider.

The Emerald Gaze Arachnid's level didn't change because Eric had reached level 19; it was still a level 20 elite with 30,000 HP.

However, the Emerald Gaze Arachnid was much stronger than the Shadowhowl Nightwolf, not in attack power or speed, but in its terrifying poison and tough, sticky webs. It also had incredibly powerful eyes, seeing as clearly as daylight even in complete darkness, with a 360-degree field of vision and no blind spots.

Eric looked around; even with his extraordinary strength, his visibility was only about 5 yards.

The Emerald Gaze Arachnid, however, could see Eric and attack from 30 to 40 yards away, putting Eric at a significant disadvantage.

"Interesting." But Eric showed no panic, instead smiling, "If it were other players without auxiliary items, they might indeed struggle. But not me."

Suddenly, a dark blue flame appeared in Eric's hand, instantly illuminating the surroundings and rapidly heating the cold cave.

But that wasn't all.

The dark blue flame quickly spread over Eric's entire body, enveloping him completely, making him look like a fire god, and the entire cave became brightly lit.

The Emerald Gaze Arachnid's position was now fully revealed.
