Chapter 324 Times Have Changed
"It turns out it's him. I haven't seen him for a while, and it seems his skills and equipment have improved a lot. No wonder he could sneak up on me so closely before I noticed," Eric had a deep impression of CelestialParagon.
Back when he was searching for Frost Azure Flame, he was almost killed by CelestialParagon. Later, when he was leveling up with Tonny and Ezio, they were ambushed by CelestialParagon again, and he was on the brink of death.
During Eric's long time in Divine Realms: Legends, he had many enemies, but none like CelestialParagon, who almost took his life. CelestialParagon was definitely the first.
After all this time, CelestialParagon must be more familiar with the combat style of Divine Realms: Legends. If it weren't for CelestialParagon's carelessness and underestimating his identity as Black Flame, not hiding his killing intent, he might have succeeded in his ambush.
"Why are you still showing yourself? Aren't you going to run?" Eric looked at the murderous Celestial Paragon and smiled faintly.
"Run?" A hint of arrogance appeared on CelestialParagon's cold face. "I admit you're strong. As the president of the Guild of Aether Wing, Black Flame, you are indeed formidable. According to my estimation, your strength should be on par with Kai Blackthorn. Last time, Kai Blackthorn managed to kill me because I was impatient. I used all my skills to kill Kai Blackthorn and had none left. Otherwise, Kai Blackthorn wouldn't have been able to kill me. Now, although my form is revealed, I can still use all my skills. Do you think you can kill me?"
"As you said, it's not easy to kill a top Assassin like you without all your skills on cooldown." Eric acknowledged CelestialParagon's strength, but today was different. While CelestialParagon's strength had improved, so had his. "Since you're so confident, how about we make a bet?"
"A bet? Do you think I'll fall for that? Today, I intended to kill you to let Kai Blackthorn know I'm back. Since I can't kill you, just deliver a message to Kai Blackthorn: the person I want to kill will definitely die!" CelestialParagon sneered and was about to leave.
"If you want me to deliver a message, you have to be able to leave first." Eric used the Ring of Seven Luminaries, activating the skill Absolute Time from the Ring of Time, and rushed forward.
Absolute Time, within a 50*50 yard range, prevents any enemy from using skills or items.
With this skill activated, it was as if all of CelestialParagon's skills were on cooldown. An Assassin without skills is like a tiger without claws and teeth, easily manipulated.
"You think I can't escape?"
CelestialParagon smiled confidently, intending to use a blinding skill to make Eric lose his sight, allowing him to escape easily.
But CelestialParagon quickly realized he couldn't use any skills. He was shocked, knowing better than anyone how vulnerable an Assassin without skills is.
However, CelestialParagon wasn't an ordinary person. He quickly calmed down and tried to run.
Such a skill must have a time limit; it couldn't be infinite. As long as he could hold out until the time was up, he could escape.
But Eric used Silent Stride to appear behind CelestialParagon, giving him no chance to run. He silently slashed down with his sword. CelestialParagon reacted quickly, raising his dagger to block.
The silver-gray Abyssal Blade struck the dagger's blade, and CelestialParagon felt immense pressure on his arm, forcing him to kneel on one knee.
"What immense strength. No wonder he could kill Darius Shadowthorn," CelestialParagon thought. If he hadn't experienced it himself, he wouldn't have believed Eric's strength was comparable to a boss. Now he understood why a master like Darius Shadowthorn was defeated so thoroughly, unable to even fight back.
Eric swung his sword over ten times, each strike as fast as lightning and as heavy as a mountain, leaving CelestialParagon no room to dodge. He could only defend desperately. Although the dagger blocked most of the damage, the continuous sword strikes kept reducing his health, frustrating CelestialParagon, but he had no solution.
He cursed Eric for being despicable, using brute force to suppress him. Eric's sword strikes lacked any technique, relying solely on raw power. Against such a relentless assault, CelestialParagon couldn't use any of his skills.
If he could use his skills, he could easily escape this predicament. But without any skills, he felt powerless.
As Eric was about to kill him, CelestialParagon suddenly felt a sense of déjà vu.
It was just like when he ambushed Kai Blackthorn, using a magic scroll to seal all of Eric's skills, turning him into a tiger without claws, forcing him to run without daring to face him head-on.
Now, he was in the same situation as Kai Blackthorn during the ambush.
If he had known Black Flame had such a skill, he wouldn't have gotten so close and chatted for so long, giving Eric enough time to set a trap. He had walked right into his own death.
"It seems I'm doomed." With only a sliver of health left, CelestialParagon saw his end. As a red-named player, death would mean losing all his equipment and a significant drop in level, making his revenge on Kai Blackthorn a distant dream.
But just as the Abyssal Blade was about to strike CelestialParagon, it stopped mid-air.
"What, you're not going to kill me? If you wait until I can use my skills, it won't be possible to kill me," CelestialParagon said coldly, looking at Eric in confusion.
"I said before, I want to make a bet with you. You thought I was trying to trick you into killing you. Now, with your health at a sliver, I could easily destroy your weapons, equipment, and levels with a single strike. But I still say the same thing, are you interested in making this bet?" Eric sheathed the Abyssal Blade and asked with a smile.
"It seems you weren't trying to trick me. So, you fought me to prove you weren't trying to kill me to make a bet?" CelestialParagon was surprised, not understanding Eric's intentions, and asked.
"Of course. Why else would I fight you? Do you think I have nothing better to do?" Eric smiled wryly.
CelestialParagon was speechless.
"Don't you believe me?" Eric's face turned cold, hinting at attacking again.
"No, I believe you. Tell me, I'm curious about this bet," CelestialParagon said, now interested in Eric's bet.
"Bet your life!" Eric said straightforwardly.
"Bet my life? Isn't my life already in your hands?" CelestialParagon felt like cursing.
Eric shook his head and said slowly, "You said earlier that if you could use your skills, you could easily escape from me?"
"That's right!" CelestialParagon said without hesitation.
Although he had witnessed Eric's terrifying strength, he still believed he could escape.
"But I don't believe it. So let's make a bet to see if you can escape from me while using your skills. What do you think?" Eric smiled.
