Chapter 236 Mysterious NPC

Eric had driven the price down to a level that even ScribeCharm was shocked.

However, ScribeCharm also knew that it was impossible to sell these forging materials at a good price anymore.

At this moment, he truly realized how difficult it was to make money in Shadowwing Citadel.

Although it offered various opportunities, the competition here was fiercer than in any other city. Players from various kingdoms and empires, each with their own unique characteristics, gathered here. Even though Echoes of Dusk was a top-tier guild, it had no advantage in this city. Even the forging materials they once considered valuable had no edge here.

ScribeCharm wondered know how Rosewater made so much money.

"RogueVortex, can you give me some time? After all, your offer is too low. I need to ask my superiors before making a decision." He decided to stall Eric.

"Alright, I need to buy some things anyway. Let's meet at the square in about thirty minutes." Eric nodded.

The two then added each other as friends.

After they parted ways, Eric immediately walked into a deserted alley.

The reason he offered the ultra-low price of 2 silver was to make ScribeCharm contact his boss and to separate from ScribeCharm. Otherwise, his plan wouldn't work.

After entering the alley, Eric quickly took out the Crystal of the Seven Moons from his backpack and returned to Silvervale City. He then hurried to the bank warehouse, took out several hundred stacks of sturdy stones and some ores, and used the Crystal of the Seven Moons to return to Shadowwing Citadel.

He then found another dark alley, carefully observed his surroundings, and fully opened his senses to ensure no one was following him. He then transformed into an old man with white hair, donned a black hooded cloak, and changed his name to Carlos. Everything else was displayed as unknown.

"Alright...Everything's okay." Eric looked at his outfit.

Both his demeanor and attire appeared very mysterious, exuding an astonishing aura, completely unlike a player.

Eric headed to a busy street.

Upon spotting a well-equipped Guardian Knight, he walked over and accidentally knocked the Guardian Knight to the ground, leaving him sprawled out.

The Guardian Knight was initially furious and wanted to curse, but upon seeing the imposing old man before him, who even made him feel a bit of fear, he used his observation skill and found that the old man's name was Carlos, with everything else displayed as unknown.

In Divine Realms: Legends, being displayed as unknown usually meant one of two things: either the player used a special item to hide their information, or the level difference was so vast that ordinary observation skills couldn't measure it.

The old man before him was clearly not a player but an NPC, so the Guardian Knight concluded that this Carlos was very powerful. He swallowed his curses, fearing to provoke this mysterious NPC.

"Sir, are you alright?" Eric asked with an imposing tone.

"Yeah," the Guardian Knight quickly replied.

"Alright. It was my fault for bumping into you. As compensation, you can come to me to buy items at a discount," Eric said and then walked into a nearby alley.

"Could it be my lucky day?" The Guardian Knight quickly followed Eric into the alley.

Eric's mysterious attire and imposing aura naturally attracted the attention of many players on the street. Although his voice was not loud, many nearby players heard him.

Divine Realms: Legends was full of opportunities, especially in Shadowwing Citadel. It was not uncommon to buy rare items from hidden NPCs.

The powerful NPC old man before them might be selling some strong rare items, so they couldn't miss this opportunity and followed him.

"Damn, why are so many people coming?" The Guardian Knight was frustrated but didn't stop following Eric.

Seeing so many players following, Eric's lips curled into a smile. His goal was achieved.

He then led a group of players past the street where ScribeCharm was.

ScribeCharm hadn't gone far and noticed the strange scene. He asked one of the players following Eric.

Upon learning the reason, he was overjoyed and joined the following crowd.

Seeing that ScribeCharm had taken the bait, Eric found a secluded pavilion and sat down, seemingly unconcerned about the players following him.

The Guardian Knight immediately approached Eric, eager to know what he could buy from him.

Eric smiled slightly and took out sturdy stones and other rare ores, offering them at extremely low prices.

A stack of sturdy stones for 40 copper coins, a stack of 200 iron ores for 4 silver coins, a stack of 200 refined iron ores for 6 silver coins, a stack of 200 silver ores for 10 silver coins, and a stack of 200 mithril ores for 12 silver coins.

Seeing this, the Guardian Knight was stunned.

These prices were much lower than the market prices, especially the highly demanded sturdy stones for just 40 copper coins.

"Carlos, I want to buy 30 stacks of sturdy stones," the Guardian Knight said excitedly.

Buying a stack of sturdy stones for 40 copper coins and selling it for 5 silver coins would be a huge profit.

Anyone would be tempted.

So the Guardian Knight spent all his money on sturdy stones.

The other players, seeing that, were also stunned and rushed forward to buy.

In Shadowwing Citadel, most players were free players with limited money, so they could only buy a few stacks or a dozen stacks.

In no time, over two hundred stacks were sold.

The players who bought the sturdy stones were overjoyed. Some even started shouting on the street, offering to buy gold coins with credit points.

If they bought gold coins through the virtual trading center, it would take two hours for the coins to arrive. But if they traded with other players, they could get the coins immediately. So these players started shouting, offering twice the market price.

Seeing the NPC selling these items at such low prices and many players buying gold coins, ScribeCharm became anxious.

If RogueVortex found out about this, the forging materials he had would never sell and would be stuck in his hands.

So ScribeCharm immediately reported this to his boss and quickly got a reply: sell them cheaply and don't let them get stuck.

He then rushed to the agreed meeting place with RogueVortex and sent him a message saying they could trade now, fearing that RogueVortex would check it out.

Seeing the message, Eric smiled slightly and told the other players that today's items were sold out and more would be available tomorrow.

Many players who had just arrived were disappointed, lamenting that they were too late and would have to come early tomorrow.

Eric then used Vanishing Strike to disappear from the players' sight, found a secluded place, transformed back into RogueVortex, and quickly headed to the meeting place.
