Chapter 343 The Slaughter Moment
The players in Silvervale City heard the system announcement and were instantly pumped.
Monster sieges were super rare, not to mention the epic battles and sweet rewards that came with them.
Just these factors alone were enough to make the players of Silvervale City eager to jump in.
"We gotta get to the city gates, pronto. If the guards clear everything, we won't get squat."
"I heard there are monsters in the teleportation hall. Hope they haven't been wiped out yet."
"Let's head to the teleportation hall then."
Immediately, players chilling in the tavern and inn formed groups and rushed towards the teleportation hall, which was just a stone's throw from Silvervale City's massive iron gate.
The teleportation hall was eerily silent, with everyone staring at the sudden appearance of the steel giant.
Mechanical Slaughterer, an elite high-level Overlord, level 50, with 40 million health points.
Compared to the data Eric had seen the first time, the Mechanical Slaughterer's health had undergone a drastic change. The terrifying 40 million health points were enough to make all players look up in awe.
And with one strike, it had wiped out hundreds of players. Any player witnessing this would only feel one thing: fear.
However, what puzzled everyone was that the steel giant's gaze was fixed on BlackFlame.
The monster's earlier words, "Finally found you," were clearly directed at BlackFlame.
But why would such a powerful monster come looking for BlackFlame? This left everyone full of questions.
"Why is a level 50 Overlord here?" RogueVortex stared at the suddenly appearing Mechanical Slaughterer, astonished. It was the first time he had heard of an elite high-level Overlord.
Even a level 50 high-level Overlord monster was insignificant in front of Silvervale City's hundreds of level 150 guards and level 150 second-tier guard captains. But such a monster still appeared, which was simply unbelievable.
What was even more surprising was the behavior and actions of this elite Overlord. Its manner of speaking, with a hint of mockery, was completely unlike a monster and more like an arrogant, superior player.
This proved that an elite, high-level Overlord was definitely more formidable than a high-level Overlord.
"President RogueVortex, what should we do about this monster?"
"Should we run?"
The members of Darkstar Guild, thinking about the Mechanical Slaughterer's level and terrifying, destructive power, couldn't help but feel scared.
"Run?" RogueVortex sneered, "Why run from such a heaven-sent opportunity?"
"The gate is already blocked by that monster, and its target is clearly BlackFlame. What better guard could there be than that monster? Our job is to deal with BlackFlame. After taking him down, we can then handle the monster."
"Everyone, attack! We must not let BlackFlame escape today!"
With RogueVortex's order, the members of Darkstar Guild naturally couldn't disobey and charged towards Eric.
Meanwhile, RogueVortex was also summoning members through the guild channel, calling them to gather here.
Not only did they want BlackFlame, but they also wanted the Mechanical Slaughterer in front of them. Especially this monster, which was clearly an elite high-level Overlord with intelligence far surpassing that of a high-level Overlord and terrifying strength. If they could take it down, other guilds seeing Darkstar Guild's hundreds of members attacking would surely not miss the chance either. They began contacting their guilds to gather people, all aiming to take down BlackFlame first and then the Mechanical Slaughterer to claim the glory and loot.
"This is bad. Enemies on both sides. We told him to escape earlier, but now it's too late," Turtledove said, looking at Eric surrounded and the gate blocked by the monster, feeling anxious. "Should we rush over to help him now?"
"Hold up," SwordShadow grabbed Turtledove and whispered, "We should stick to President BlackFlame's plan and find a way to get out."
"SwordShadow, the situation's changed. If we don't help him now, he's definitely gonna die," Turtledove insisted.
"But what can we do if we go?" SwordShadow shook his head. Although he wanted to help Eric, he had a bad feeling that if they stayed, the outcome would be as Eric predicted.
"Doing something is better than doing nothing." Turtledove didn't listen to SwordShadow and charged into the crowd.
But before Turtledove could run a few steps, an unbelievable scene unfolded.
A massive figure suddenly appeared above Eric's head, falling from the sky and landing heavily on the ground. The iron-hard floor was easily shattered, and the entire teleportation hall shook.
The hundreds of people fighting Eric were all instantly killed.
Only Eric, who had activated Swordsoar Ascension, was barely standing.
"Finally making a move. I've been waiting for this," Eric smiled slightly. His health was below 50%, and if the fight continued, he would have to escape. But now that the Mechanical Slaughterer was attacking him, things were different.
"You little ant has quite the luck, but in front of me, there's only one path: death." Mechanical Slaughterer raised its serrated sword and slashed at Eric again.
With one strike, countless air blades flew towards Eric.
"Bring it on."
Facing the countless wind blades, Eric's lips curled into a smile. With a Silent Stride, he dodged the tsunami-like air blades and appeared among the healing class players of various guilds.
Although Eric dodged, the elite members of Darkstar Guild charging at him weren't so lucky.
In front of the countless air blades, these players were as fragile as tofu, crumbling at a touch.
Hundreds of elites were killed.
But it wasn't over. Mechanical Slaughterer, missing its first strike, followed up with another slash at Eric.
Eric quickly activated the Ring of Wind and used Zephyr Stride, his speed skyrocketing. He leaped and narrowly dodged the wave-like air blades.
Immediately, the healing and magic class players of various guilds met a tragic fate.
"Not good, BlackFlame is using the Mechanical Slaughterer's power against us. Everyone, scatter!"
The players realized something was wrong.
Eric's repeated dodges seemed like he was avoiding Mechanical Slaughterer's attacks, but he was actually using its wide-range attacks against them.
In just a few seconds, hundreds of elite players from various guilds were dead, and most of Darkstar Guild's newly arrived elites were wiped out.
If Eric continued fighting like this, it wouldn't be long before they were all annihilated.
"BlackFlame!" RogueVortex looked at his dead subordinates, his teeth almost grinding to dust.
"Change tactics. All ranged players, restrict BlackFlame's movements," RogueVortex immediately altered the strategy.
"Just realizing now?" Eric smiled at the changing tactics, "Too late. Let me give you a grand blood feast."
If RogueVortex and the others had been prepared and taken the aggro before Mechanical Slaughterer reached him, Eric would have had no choice but to leave. But now that Mechanical Slaughterer was by his side, even if they knew, it was meaningless.
Because the Mechanical Slaughterer's control was now in his hands.
As long as he didn't die, he controlled the Mechanical Slaughterer's movements.
Eric wasn't being arrogant. When it came to survival skills, no one in Silvervale City could surpass him.
